WARNING: There is confusing information about cancellation on the hostelworld page of Hotel Demo. In some place it says 72h in others 176h (one week), same in the booking confirmation. Both Hotel Demo and Hostelworld just insisted on the one-week-cancellation without removing the 72h information or being friendly to the customer and admitting their mistake and taking care of it or compensating me. The hotel may be nice, but staff is not welcoming definitely.
The phone number Hostelworld sends is supposedly a mobile phone of an ex-employee, so we got some wrong info about our room. The location is about 30-50 meters from the main square following the south exit (Rue Riad Zitoun el Kdim in Google Maps) and then into a small side street to the west (right). Please note the Rue Riad Zitoun el Kdim is spelled different in every map we had. Somehow we got an extra cheap price because the manager was ill and for this it was good.
This is more a B&B in a Families house where they themselves live in some rooms and the rest of the rooms is for customers. The family was very nice and helpful and they had a PC for public use in a corner too. Unfortunately the place is a bit tricky to find. We followed the instructions, but didn't see the backery (which is there, but was closed when we arrived; so hard to spot). Go to (good signed) Funky Fez if you can't find it and they can call Dar Lalla Mina to pick you up.
The facilities (wifi, heating, shower, etc) are in excellent condition for Moroccan standard. It's a very very nice house in a location where you can walk everywhere (but Asilah isn't big anyway). We came with a taxi from the Tanger airport and the driver didn't know how to get to the new Hammam or the road or anything. He just knew the Medina. The house is actually on a narrow alley you can only walk into, so you need to find somebody to drop you close by and then show you the way ...
