1. Showers were warm 2. Great location 3. Staff were mostly helpful 4. Wifi worked well 5. Security during the day was good. However, every night people would invite people from other hostels back.. as there was no receptionist this meant the "parties" in the hostel could last until 2.30am.. it also created a security issue where non-guests were in the rooms & hostel late at night. 6. There's a fridge in the kitchenette but no stove etc. 7. Super comfy mattresses!
Run down: 1. Good wifi 2. Warm showers 3. Good location - close to tourist attractions by foot, and the bus & train stations via tram line 4. Staff were friendly and helpful 5. Good socialising area - however, while I was there it was mostly groups traveling together staying at the hostel unfortunately 6. The hostel was clean & tidy 7. I'd stay there again
1. Wifi works well throughout the building 2. Air conditioning is great 3. Bathrooms - there are enough, but the showers are of the see through screen type 4. Laundry facilities 5. Atmosphere is decent 6. Staff need to work on communication - nothing was explained unless I asked first! 7. One of the guys at the bar (Italian guy? avg height, brown hair, beard) would almost refuse to serve you unless you were female 8. You must catch the ferry (7 euro) to get there
If you book here you will stay at one of two locations: the first in the hotel as advertised; the second next to the Russian Embassy (where we all want to stay given recent events...). You are taken there by a random person who you then never see again. The hotel reception is a 5 minute walk away. You pass through military guards (Russian) to get there. No kitchen, not even a fork to use. No common room. Bathrooms flood when you use them. Staff not overly helpful. Will not return.
Great atmosphere created by free pasta night & pub crawl every night. Fantastic common room. Fun & helpful staff. Great kitchen, and wifi throughout the building. Location wise - a trek from the beach, but close enough to everything else. Don't be mislead if you're looking for a quiet place however, this is not it (at least not from 7-10pm at night when it becomes a party hostel).
Great place. The lady who works on the front desk is fantastic, extremely helpful. Good atmosphere with a great common area. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely return. Only complaint is the showers were always dirty..
Great hostel. Great atmosphere. The girl running the kings cup really makes the atmosphere awesome! Only bad thing was that the bathroom bin was not emptied in the four days I was there....kind of gross when there's eight people in the room guys!!
Great place, a little out of the Red Light District which makes life more relaxed. Close to the airport transfer. Fantastic staff, always friendly and helpful. The showers suck. Wifi is good, right through the building. Great security. Relatively clean. Only recommendation would be if they had a free continental breakfast in the morning....

Great family run hostel! Attracts a good crowd, had a great stay there. The staff were fantastic. Kitchen was great. Atmosphere was tops. Location - about 10mins walk from the train station with plenty of bars & even a couple of clubs on the same street as the hostel. Roof top terrace is cool. One thing to note: they have an awesome beer vending machine in the hostel - bring plenty of change!
Disappointing stay after the high quality experienced at the St Christopher's Inn Paris Canal. Paid for a premium room, got no curtain. Felt awkward asking the staff questions, like it was always a huge inconvenience to them. It is also a long way from the centre and train station compared to other hostels. Will choose somewhere else to stay next time am in Bruges.
The hostel is based in an old brewery, only a 15min walk from town. It was opened only a couple of years ago, using the carbon nuetral idea.. this creates an issue though: as they limit the air flow through the building, it seems that an accumulation of dust occurs in the bedrooms! If you have hayfever or asthma be weary of staying at this hostel purely because you can´t open the window to give it a proper air out. I was sneezing the entire time was at the hostel, was fine when I went outside.
Best hostel ever. Awesome staff, great to muck around with and have a joke (shout out to Claire!). Close to subway station with the lines going directly to the main attractions. Awesome pods for privacy. The downstairs bar has an awesome atmosphere to watch sports, especially the World Cup! Booked for two nights, stayed for six. Will definitely stay here again when I come back to Paris. One thing to remember - there is a city outside the bar.
I arrived late at night to the hostel to find somebody sleeping in my bed (not a hostel guest). Rather than move them I got shifted to another room. The next day I had to wake up early to check out and store my bags etc etc.. Wifi doesn't work upstairs. No elevator. Grubby bathrooms. Beds too close together. Overall disappointing. It has the potential to be good but just too many issues to go back.
Great hostel. Girls on the front desk are awesome and super helpful. Beds are way too close together! Had a snoring Pakistani male send me deaf ALL night. Also, for the price of the hostel, a continental breakfast wouldn't go astray, rather than the 6CHF they wanted!
Great place if you want to stay in Winterthur for a few days! Great facilities, awesome staff, all around fantastic joint! For the price, a continental breakfast wouldn't go astray... Also, if you're planning to visit Zurich, it will cost you almost $10CHF to get there via rail!
Expected a lot more for the price & reviews. The hostel is quiet a distance form Manhattan, and 5 stops from Williamsburg. It offers a lot in the description on Hostelworld, but you have to pay additional fees for nearly everything (eg, gym, washing machine, to use the computers, etc etc). The atmosphere is pretty poor too - difficult to get to know people due to the layout of the hostel. Would also be good if breakfast went a bit later.
The hostel was in a good location, but if you didn`t have good room mates there would not have been a proper atmosphere. It was more of a hotel type hostel atmosphere (like most HI) rather than a proper backpackers.
The USA hostel in Hollywood is not as good as their one in San Fran. Excellent location, good staff, but no real indoor area conducive to hanging around and meeting people (tv is always on). There is an outdoor area but this gets way too hot. The rooms at night also get pretty stuffy. Good wifi, decent kitchen & free continental breakfast provided. Also a great pub crawl put on by the hostel and the area is fantastic for the night life! The night shift worker needs to calm down slightly.
Great place to stay, central San Fran within walking distance of everything. One comment however - room 106 is too hot to sleep in at night! It has two fans, but they do not reach the people in the room. It requires a proper wall fan. I ended up sleeping in the movie room a couple of nights because it was too hot in the room.
Excellent atmosphere. Is a decent walk to Frenchman Street however. Staff were awesome. Two main complaints: #1 is the lockers don't fit anything inside of them! #2 is that the showers are so hot you come out sweating more than when you went in!
Expensive but good location & staff. In my room lots of people used it as a cheap hotel - eg, they'd come just for a business meeting and be there only the one night. That kind of killed the atmosphere a lot. Would rather they put all the backpackers with other backpackers, and all the business people with other business people!
Great hostel, had a blast! All up top staff, atmosphere and general all around good people.
Great hostel. Terrible if youre in the top room however. You have to walk up four flights of stairs, and the windows don't open so it is super hot in there!!
Hands down one of the best hostels I have stayed at ever! From the awesome staff, the fantastic atmosphere, to the awesome location this place was just sensational!
Not a hostel, just a hotel. Staff were rude to guests, the location was a joke (20 min walk to subway), just all around average place to stay. Really did not enjoy my time here at all.
This hostel has the potential to be sensational. Had a fantastic time there, great food, mostly great staff (one exception being the night shift guy, very unhelpful especially when checking in after hours). The major downside is the place shuts down at 11pm and Quito doesn't really have a great night life! No noise or the Gestapo night shift security dude will end you.
Due to an incident involving the hostel manager I would never stay here again or recommend this chain. Police & embassy were involved. Embassy added it to their "blacklist" after report was filed. I also stayed at the Pariwana in Cusco and am severely disappointed with what happened here in Lima and so have left a bad review of that Hostel too.
Great location, great staff, great atmosphere. Kitchen you can use, which is fantastic. The only bad part about my stay was the carpet in the back bedroom was a bit mouldy and in desperate need of replacement! I've stayed at three other hostels in Lima, this was by far my favourite.
Had a significant incident happen at Pariwana Hostel in Lima (same chain) involving the hostel manager there. As a result a report with police and embassy was filed. Cannot recommend this chain at all knowing what happens at Lima.
This is a Hotel but with a twist. They lock it up at approx 10pm, and all power goes out.. eg, no wifi. Location is up a hill. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Important stuff: wifi works, showers are luke warm (go downstairs BEFORE 8am for hot ones), great meals (sometimes you do have to chase them), great atmosphere, comfy beds, lockers, more lockers at reception for charging your phones & computers, staff are awesome. Booked four nights, stayed an extra three (was there for St Patty´s weekend - insane). Be careful though - this place is a money making machine, and you WILL spend way more here than intended.
Staff were helpful with the exception of the short red head girl - she wouldn´t assist you unless asked to by one of the other staff and then she would give attitude about it. When my bed was ¨ready¨ (3hrs after check in), the sheets had not been made. I asked about it at 10pm, they said they would do it. I came back at 3am they still hadn´t been done. Wifi also sucked. No lockers. Had to step over bags in room as there were too many beds in room! Wild Rover was MUCH MUCH MUCH better!!!
Worth going to this hostel just to meet the dude who runs it! Funniest guy ever. This place has good hot showers, is in a central position, cheap as chips and a decent chill out area. On the downside, the wifi sucks bigtime and there are no lockers for your bags/valueables.
Good cheap hostel. No lockers. Decent wifi. Staff were helpful - but they do not speak English which made it difficult at times. The place was clean, with a constant supply of hot water. Overall very facilities better than what you´re paying for.
Good hostel - great staff. Main comment is that the kitchen could be cleaner. Good place to relax out the back and watch TV...
Fantastic hostel. Booked for one night, wanted to stay two - they had no room in the dorm so upgraded me to a single for free. Cleanest hostel I´ve ever stayed in, just all around great atmosphere. Had a great time chilling in the pool with beers after Iguazu, before the awesome staff provided a fantastic breakfast the next morning.
Good hostel right in the thick of town. No real common area for people to meet. Large groups were then when I stayed (eg, approx twenty 15 year old boys part of a soccer group) which would make chilling out on the couches awkward.. most of the staff were very helpful but there was one of the males who made a real effot and almost scolded at you if you asked him for anything. Pub crawl was fantastic, highly recommend it.
Great party hostel - do not expect to sleep before the bar shuts at 2am! Also, be warned that you will spend a huge sum of money at the bar whether you want to or not! Groups of people seem to stay there together though, so it is hard to meet people until the parties at night.
Good overall hostel, great location. Free shots on Sat night, can't get better than that. Bathrooms could be in a bit better condition.. and no wifi in rooms. On a side note - be sure to organise your taxi well before going anywhere (better choice to just catch one on the street - not through the hostel) because myself & numerous other people could not get a taxi to arrive at the hostel even after ordering it 30 mins beforehand!
We were six floors up, of course there was no elevator..which sucks after the walk from town (uphill). The internet did not work and staff were rude about resetting the routers. Good breakfast tho - pancakes & eggs cooked for you. Then back to reality - no real atmosphere, and nowhere really to chill out with other guests. Oh, and was awoken at 1am one morning when the tap in our shower burst, was spewing water everywhere for over an hour... was glad to leave.
Hostel is right across from the bus station which is excellent. The boy who runs the Hostel is also excellent - friendly and more than helpful. It could be cleaner however (kitchen & bathroom), and there were no lockers.. the front door also is never locked as there is only one staff memeber there who leaves at approx 10pm. Also, make sure you do all your interneting before heading to El Chalten as the entire town is run via saellite.
Excellent hostel - great breakfast, wifi works well, theyĺl organise everything at the hostel and charge it to your room which you can then pay by CARD. Win win win!
Good brekky provided in the morning - free home made bread & scrambled eggs. Potential for a good atmosphere but everybody is always busy backing for their hike. Found staff were not overly helpful when approached about issues - eg, a map of the town or what to do in the town itself... The dude who cooked me scrambled eggs every morning though was sensational.
Just stayed the one night en route to Puerto Natales.. cheap as chips, you get what you pay for. As stated in other reviews, rooms smell - think there's some leaking plumbing. Also it isn't an English hostel, so make sure you bring your Spanish skills or a dictionary!
Excellent hostel. Always full, and there's a reason why. Great social atmosphere, great city, excellent staff. Possibly also one of the cleanest hostels with the most comfy beds I have come across so far. Very pro.
Great hostel - excellent social atmosphere with big lounge rooms, kitchen, pool room, outside pool, etc. Close to town, the beach and lake. Staff will go out of their way to help you in any way possible. Fantastic place to stay. Side note: book tours/activities/anything in town - much more expensive to do through the Hostel.
Small hostel with great atmosphere. In the middle of the cities walking tour providing some fantastic views. Breakfast (continental or toasted sandwiches) provided. Only down side is that there's only one shower! Luckily there are two toilets..
Great hostel - comfy beds, top atmosphere, easy to get to know people, pub crawl on the Fri & Saturday nights. Fantastic place to make friends & be in the centre of the action at night. During the day however, it is a fair walk into town.
