Paisa City Hostel

Pro's: Good locations near metrostation and supermarkets. Helpfull staff. They gave us a upgrade from a dorm to a private double room because everything was fully booked. The Wifi is good. Comfortable rooms and big kitchen. Con's: Breakfast was poor. Just dry bread with thee and instant coffee. No marmalade or cheese or... The bed in the double room is very hard, it's like sleeping on a wooden bench. The showers are cold. But it's a new hostel with a lot of potential!

Good: - Very friendly and helpful owner! We had trouble with the luggage and he helped us a lot, called a couple of times and even drove me back to the airport. He also helped with how to enjoy carnival the most and how to get to the city,... Thanks Rupi! - Very nice breakfast - Big room - It's not really in Salvador but it's in a nice town outside the big city. It's just one bus ride away. - Wifi Bad: - The typical brasilian things: not a hot shower, bed made a lot of noise,...

Duke Hostel

Greymouth, New Zealand

We had a very good stay at Duke Hostel. We loved it very much. The free soup was nice, Dory suggested to cook more soup if it was necessary. He and is wife always tried to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The free bread and jam in the morning is always pleasant as a backpacker. The facilities are clean en we had a good bed in a spacious double room. When we were waiting to check in, we got some cookies to make our waiting more enjoyable. We definitely recommend this hostel!

Fox Glacier Inn

Fox Glacier, New Zealand
74%

We had a pleasant stay at Fox Inn. It has a lot of potential because it has a well equiped kitchen, nice movie selection, good showers ,excellent location and a friendly host. But there are a few downsides too. For example the bunkbeds aren't that good (noisy and less than average matressess). Also is it cold in all the rooms (also common areas). The heaters doesn't work untill late and it can be very chilly at the West Coast, even during the summer.

Kitchen is clean but there are no forks?! Comfy beds and clean showers Location is very good as central point for many tramps/milford sound/... but the staff isn't that flexible for leaving your luggage overthere in a secure place. They give you the possiblity to leave your belongings for a hole day in the common area (not locked).

Sparky's

Invercargill, New Zealand

We stayed in a double room over there. The room had a theme - The Movie 'The Worlds fastest Indian', it was lovely! There were real attributes from the film, we could watch the film in the room, ... it was a really funny and nice room with a good bed! Outside was the hot tub, which was very nice in the evening. Sparky was a very good host, he did everything to make our stay enjoyable and relaxed! The bathroom was clean en the living room had a very cosy atmosphere with the stove.
