British national from the North East of England. I've been 'living' in London since November and have stayed in many, hostels around London as a means of accommodation. Positives - Some beds in certain rooms have privacy curtains, lights and power sockets. Most of the staff appear to be friendly Australian folk. Rooms can sometimes be cheap. Right next door to the Hammersmith Tube Station. Free continental breakfast. Negative - Lively bar when you want to sleep. Personal Score - 8/10
Great hostel if you want to see things around Greenwhich. Its right next door to Greenwich station so you can get the DLR or a train - a few buses will be around there too. The staff are nice, you get free continental breakfast and I think theres power sockets next to the beds. Greenwich is a little bit out from the centre of London so expect the 25/35 minute journey if youre going to the centre. Personal rating 7/10

Only stayed here once - Unfortunately judging it compared to the other Palmers Lodge down the road. Positives - good security - you feel safe. The rooms are nice. Free continental breakfast. No cash deposit to pay. Negatives - almost certainly a converted public school. Just a little bit too far out of the way. Not as good as the other one!
Good location - 1 street away from Kings Cross, cheap-ish prices. Privacy screens, power sockets and lights. Staff are friendly and no cash deposit to pay. Rooms do feel over crowded.
British nation from the North East of England. I've stayed in many London hostels over a period of 6 months and this is the best by far if you just want to chill out. The hostel has an old rustic feel and is only a 5 minute walk from the Swiss cottage tube station. Each bed has a privacy curtain and a light to give you good privacy. You really do feel at home - however always make sure you look after your own valuables. Personal score - 9.5/10
I've stayed in many hostels in London and this one is around the middle ground when it comes to hostels. Some positives and some negatives. Positives - its in Schoreditch - the cool part of London. Some of the staff are quite helpful and nice. Free continental breakfast. Negative - 5 cash deposit, some of the staff need to get more sleep. Noisy guests, not enough power sockets, no privacy. Great hostel if you want to go on the lash and just sleep somewhere. Personal rating - 6/10
Te generator is in the top 3 hostels in London. It would easily be number 1 if... The security staff didn't interrogate everyone like terror suspects, if you didn't have to pay for breakfast - don't its not worth it and every room had power sockets. Bar all of the above the hostel is still almost perfect. It has a great atmosphere - the best I've seen. Personal Score 9.5/10

I feel very bad giving this hostel such a negative review - Im sure that with some decent cash injection it could become a better hostel. For the most part if people have more money to spend I would suggest to try elsewhere. Positive - cheap as chips, staff seem nice. Negatives - They don't answer the door. You don't feel safe. Everything is dirty. Bless then they are trying!
