Camping Serenissima

Venice, Italy

Nice hot showers. No wait. Be prepared to hear your neighbors if in the 2 person "dorm" option. I liked being removed from Venice, but you do have to factor more time in for travel each day.

Hostel Pisa

Pisa, Italy

Kitchen here is worthless unless you have your own utensils, plates, cooking pots etc. They lock you out of the rooms for cleaning midday. Close to train station.

I had a great time in Granada staying at this hostel. The rooms were very comfortable, although it would have been nice if each bunk had a light and access to an outlet -- also the top bunk is too close to the bottom bunk to sit comfortably on the bottom bunk. Matthew at the front desk was particularly helpful and arranged for another hike outside the regular schedule when I missed the regular one but really wanted to go hiking. Thank you Matthew!

Almaa Sintra Hostel

Sintra, Portugal

I loved the location removed from the town, but other people might prefer to be closer. The kitchen was great for when there are not very many people cooking. Deep wide bathtub sink, gas stove, good amount of equipment available. Breakfast of fresh bread with jam and museli was great. Loved that there was soy milk. Beds were very comfortable. Really enjoyed the candles and fire at night time.
