Wow! What a great hostel! Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, with great beds, a/c and lockers. The whole place was clean and fresh and relaxed. The staff were very very helpful and friendly, giving great recommendations and local knowledge. Located close to the metro and 15 minutes walk into centre was ideal. Only one comment would be there was only one toilet/shower near the room so had to wait a little bit but loved my stay here - will be visiting again and recommending to others :)

Positives: Great central location, helpful staff, breakfast OK. Negatives: No main key to the room I was allocated so once through the front door, anyone could walk in to the room, it did not feel secure at all. No air conditioning which meant leaving windows open all night. Due to location, it was extremely noisy outside (traffic) so not good for sleeping. Tiny kitchen which was an issue at breakfast time. Too many beds in the room and was cramped. Fine for 1 night, but would not stay again.

My second time staying here. Love the location and staff are helpful. Unfortunately, this time round, our twin room was disappointing, with a strong smell of cigarettes, very dated décor and an uncomfortable mattress. The wet room style bathroom was dark, with some pink mould on the wall, the floor was constantly soaking wet and the bin was not emptied in the 3 nights we stayed. The room and bathroom needs updating urgently. Would not stay in this room again though perhaps we were unlucky!

Pretty cool place to stay to make a change from the usual hostel environments. Clean and comfortable. Good kitchen space and general facilities. Unfortunately one of the staff members was quite rude about a payment mix up which was disappointing as we enjoyed our stay here. Probably wouldn't stay again, more of a one off experience and would look for somewhere cheaper if we were staying for more than 1 night.

Great place to meet fellow backpackers. Lovely to have a lounge/kitchen area in each block. Perfect for solo travellers and groups. Block I was in had a tiny kitchen with no work surface to prepare food or any cupboards to store food, not ideal when staying for a week. Also wifi really poor unless you sit outside reception or in the hub area. Would recommend

Great central location near to shops and supermarket. Nice clean rooms and bathrooms. Kitchen a bit on the small side. Nice place for 1 night but not the kind of place to meet fellow backpackers. Atmosphere lacking as is a hotel and not a hostel.

Nice hostel, rooms small but comfortable with good bathrooms too. Great location and friendly staff. Big downside was the tiny kitchen, almost impossible for more than 2 people to cook at the same time, was very frustrating at times. But otherwise, nice hostel to stay in.

Really great hostel. Great location, very close to supermarket, bus stops and main shopping area. Staff were really helpful and friendly, especially Becca. Rooms are a great size with comfortable beds. The whole hostel is clean, spacious and modern with great facilities. Would recommend to anyone staying in Auckland and I would stay again.

Hostel had some atmosphere and nice staff on the desk. Big comfy lounge/dining area which was ok to chill out and meet people. However. Dorm I stayed in had too many beds in for the size of the room, could barely take 2 steps in the room, no lockers in the rooms, poorly maintained building inside with flaking wallpaper/paint, bathrooms dirty, kitchen cramped and just generally the whole place needs a makeover. Not the kind of place to stay for more than 1 night.

Sorry to hear your stay wasn't as amazing as it could've been. If you were unhappy with your room I'm sure we could've moved you if you'd simply let us know - and fixed the issue for future guests. Did you notice the free lockers in the hallway? The makeover is happening so hopefully you'll be a happier soul next time you come and can stay a few more nights...

Good hostel, good location (though a bit further to the bus station than I was lead to believe) with big lockers for backpacks and comfy beds. Staff were really helpful and knowledgeable with things to do in the area. Only downside for me was the very small kitchen space for cooking in, for the size of the hostel, a larger kitchen would have been better as really squashed if more than 2 people wanted to cook at the same time. Enjoyed my stay here, would stay again and recommend to others.

Couldn't have asked for a better location, near to the greyhound, supermarket and beach. Comfy clean beds and a nice pool area. Bathrooms were clean. Big downside was no air con in the rooms, the fan was not enough. Nothing overly special about this hostel but fine to stay in for a couple of nights.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately you made a booking for a fan only room. We do have air conditioned rooms and you could have upgraded upon check-in and this is available to all guests subject to availability. We do hope that you stay with us again and we will ensure it is an air-conditioned room for yourself.

Great hostel, staff are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable! All the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and well equipped with storage boxes for valuables and plug sockets. Great atmosphere, very relaxed with hammocks and big outdoor area to sit in so as a solo traveler, it was great for meeting people . Monday BBQ night was great with great food and a good laugh. Bit further away from the main city but great for relaxing and booking tours. Would definitely stay again, had a great time :)

Great hostel in a great location. Close to shops, bars, restaurants, the botanical gardens and the main harbour area. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms were a good size and was glad of good A/C. Bathrooms were big and clean. Only downsides were that although there were lockers in the rooms, they were not very secure and no safe in the room for valuables. Also the communal area and kitchen was very small and difficult to cook in if more than 1 person at a time. Would stay again.

Stayed in the huge dorm in the loft. Beds were comfy and sheets clean though a bit draughty as is in the roof. Bathrooms were not clean, lots of hair on the floors, full bins and generally very dirty. Hostel also a bit difficult to find initially but fairly close to the subway and bars a restaurants. Downstairs area was nice and the breakfast was good. For a budget hostel, not bad value for money. I only stayed 1 night as a short trip in Nanjing but would not stay here for more than 1 night.

Good hostel in a good location. Pros: Lots of nearby shops and restaurants and a 10 minute walk from the subway. Showers powerful and hot, comfy beds with decent lockers in the rooms. Great location for French Concession and other nearby attractions. Cons: Hostel is difficult to find initially as it cannot be seen from the alley entrance. Wifi was awful, no matter where you were in the building. Not great value for the money but would stay again.

Great hostel in a good location. Within walking distance of the lake and also bars and restaurants. The food and market streets really came alive at night which was lovely to have lots of food choices and little shops nearby. Staff were helpful and the downstairs lounge area was a great place to sit. Breakfast was good. Only downside was the map issued by the hostel - really very poor map and not good for navigating the city at all! Would stay again.

A lovely hostel, great large and comfortable beds. All very clean. Good bathroom facilities too. Perfect location, close to the train and bus station and only 10-15 minute walk to the main lakes in the city. Staff were very helpful and spoke great English. Be prepared for mosquitoes as it is right on the river as the name suggests!

Really enjoyed my stay here. The communal area downstairs has a great atmosphere and good wifi. Staff couldn't have been more helpful with booking plane tickets and providing really good information about the local area. Only downside was that because the room had an en suite bathroom, the main bedroom area felt damp as not great ventilation but a small negative for a great hostel. Would definitely stay again.

Great hostel in a great location. The nearby lakes and hutong are excellent and very convenient for the subway which was very easy to use. Hostel also walk-able within 1 hour to the main sights. Staff were helpful and friendly. Also lovely food at the hostel. Was very impressed overall. Would have liked to have had a locker in the room for belongings/valuables and only drawback was a noisy alley on one side of the hostel which was loud in the mornings.
