Really loved the place but ONE MAJOR POINT I feel I should draw your attention to- we stayed in room 8 (double, ensuite) which was an attic room. You cannot physically stand up in 90% of the room! Its such a shame because everything else is fantastic! We only stayed for two nights but anymore and we would have asked to move. We saw normal rooms downstairs which obviously don't have this problem, so we would definitely stay here again but just request not room 8 unless it's for children!
I thought Rooms Laura was excellent! We stayed in an ensuite double room which was small but really great. It has a full size double bed, TV etc... The only negative is slight lack of storage space. A tiny (but well stocked) kitchenette with fridge (and tiny freezer section), hobs, sink etc. There is even a proper BBQ on the patio outside which is lovely- no cheap white plastic tables/chairs... It is shared between everyone in the hostel but we still had a nice private meal outside one night.
The hostel is really nice- clean, good sized room, good bathroom. There was one member of staff there and he was very friendly and informative. The best part was the location- it is situated five minutes walk from the pier in the area of town where the streets are smaller and where most of the bars are, despite this it isn't noisy and there are no disturbances. Would definitely stay here again.
Dont be fooled by the Castle part! It looks weird and tacky from the outside (it's just a normal building badly painted with turrets) but inside is fantastic!
