Positives: Great atmosphere (guests are taken out for drinks at the local bar each night by Chris; if you want an early night, this means it's usually quiet by around 10pm as everyone has left); great facilities (each dorm gets it's own fridge/freezer, there are ovens in the communal kitchen and showers are good). Also Luka will pick you up from the bus station which is good if you have large bags. Negatives: wifi is dodgy, especially in the dorms.

Liked: the staff were excellent and went out of their way to be helpful to us; the location was good, walking distance to the metro; beds were reasonable and rooms were clean with lockers provided. Disliked: kitchen only had one hot plate to use and the sponges seemed very old and unclean; wifi could be patchy, especially in the kitchen or common room; no lift.

Hey! Thank you for your review! I'll make sure to tell the housekeepers to have a look at the sponges more often but we change them every 3 days! Yes we don't have a lift, but we only have one staircase. Half of our rooms are on the ground floor and the rest are on the 1st floor. We are glad to know that you still enjoyed your stay in marseille!

The rooms were really nice and very clean; large lockers are provided under the bunk beds; the showers were clean and had good hot water. Disadvantages: walking up a huge cobble stoned hill to get there and then also having to lug your suitcase up 3 levels (they are in the process of building a lift though which will be great when it's complete), also, you aren't able to use the kitchen properly in the morning unless you have paid to have breakfast there, but that is only a minor issue.

The hostel was in a really good location close to public transport; it was very clean and had great lockers (very large) to fit suitcases in. The only real downside was that the showers are on timers and the hot water can take a very long time to work if you're the first one in the shower - sometimes you have to press the tap 8 or so times before you get hot water.
