If you've been to milhouse in BA prepare to be disappointed. The rooms in cusco are squishy and there was no social vibe. The milhouse tried to create a vibe by putting on events but no one seemed to go.

Hostel Masaya Santa Marta

Santa Marta, Colombia

The hostel looks more like a hotel. Brand new, excellent pool. The hostel room (6 bed ensuit) was good. Private curtains around each bed, individual shelf with reading light. Downside was that the room was squishy and so hot. The AC got turned on around 11pm and made the room so cold everyone was freezing. Downside to not having control over the AC remote. The hostel had a few people staying there but there were no games run on any of the nights we were there so the vibe was missing.

Hello, Thank you for choosing Masaya as your accommodation during your stay. It's a nice satisfaction for us that you enjoyed the architecture and the comfort of our structure. About the AC we changed with a base of 21 degrees in all the rooms with possibilities of modifying the level of AC! About the atmosphere, we met a small problems last week but normally we have cultural activities all the night to discover the Colombian culture!! Good trip en Colombia Best regard

Hostal Surf Olon

Montanita, Ecuador

Hostel is in a very quiet neighborhood. No atmosphere. We thought you'd be able to walk to montanita easily but you can't. Room was crammed. No room for luggage. Toilet and shower were in a cubical in the room. No hot water. Not enough breakfast for all the guests so get in early. Made a mistake with the booking and the staff only charged me 25% of the cost of the room for my error. Staff are friendly.

Very close to the bus station which takes you to the falls. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was good. Wifi was rubbish and never worked. Rooms were clean with large lockers to put your full backpack in. Bathroom was old and probably in need of a refurb.

Cafe Hostel

Cleanest hostel I've ever been too. Big beds, clean showers. Only seven months old so the staff had some teething issues eg finding us the right keys to our lockers and showing us to the right dorm. Good breakfast, great cake! Outdoor terrace bar was great for socializing. Close walk to the metro.

Pousada dos Duendes - Lencois

In lencois we met some great people at the hostel which made our stay really enjoyable. We stayed in a three bed dorm and found that the mattresses were filthy. We were happy to leave without catching bed bugs. Breakfast was great; fruit, yoghurt, bread, tea and coffee. The hostel is linked to h2o tour group and they offered something every day. The hostel itself is a bit of a hike from the middle of town (15min uphill). The staff made mistakes with the room we booked on hostel world.
