Great hostel a close distance to old town. Lovely staff!!! Would stay here again next time we're in Annecy.

This place was really expensive but has no kitchen! So if you're on a tight budget it's difficult. No main common area to hang out in, only a bar which was always full of people so no seats. Free breakfast was good (grab some for lunch too to save money). Bathroom and hallway on our level smelt awful but not hard to deal with when backpacking. Beds had curtains which was nice. Wifi didn't work entire time we were there. Wouldn't stay again if I could avoid it.

We were only there for a night between cambridge and Paris, but stayed at Clink78 for a week about 2 months ago. Would DEFINITELY recommend this over clink78! So much quieter and nicer than the other clink. Location is better, beds are better. Didn't use kitchen so can't comment but showers and bathroom was soooo much better! If you're tossing up between them, go clink261!

Staff we're amazing, particularly Nat and Ewen, you guys made our few days in oxford so fun. The facilities are great, and everything is really clean! Couldn't have picked a better hostel to stay at, definitely recommend.

Wifi is not free unless you're a member. Location in Grasmere was awesome. Beautiful hostel, definitely easy to get to and get around without a car so backpackers (like we are) will be fine! Facilities were good. Clean hostel. Definitely a family orientated atmosphere so don't expect to meet people if you're younger or travelling alone. The beautiful town and walks are worth it though!!

Read that the atmosphere was great, it definitely was not when we were there. It was pretty dirty and a bit smelly but that's what you get with big hostels like this one. It was at least a 20 minute walk to old town edinburgh and we saw others that were much closer and didn't take so long to get home. Wifi was good. Movie room was AWESOME. But social side was pretty bad.

Great hostel. Really cosy, great atmosphere. Wifi very intermittent unless in the dining room but that was alright. Everything was clean. Beds were a little uncomfortable because of the springs in them but the rest of the hostel made up for it. Staff are lovely and very willing to help with everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Saucy Mary's Lodge

For kyleakin, great location, but for Skye I would suggest somewhere else (Portree for example) if you don't have a car. Hostel says it has cable tv, in fact they only have TVs in a few rooms and there is no common area so there is no social aspect whatsoever. Overall cleanliness was fine, beds were comfortable wifi worked in bedrooms too. Get discounts for dinner at the bar next door as well.

Overall no complaints here. Comfortable bedrooms, everything was clean. Showers were great! No breakfast but very cheap if you want it (£2 for everything). Kitchen facilities well stocked, wifi was good. Staff are very happy to tell you about things to do and where things are (thank you ally!). Very comfortable stay.

Hatters on Newton Street

Stayed when man united played man city, so it was very expensive for us but that was bad luck (because we aren't into football). Although bedrooms were good, kitchen facilities were poor - no tea towels so things were always wet, a lack of cutlery and few pots and no pot lids. Also shower doors are completely see through! Events were fun (movie night, and pasta - thanks Pablo). Breakfast was run out by 9am so late risers miss out.

Great location within walking distance of all baths main attractions, wifi throughout whole hostel. Showers and toilet block were fine but individual toilets on bedroom levels were gross. Bedrooms were fine, as was kitchen. Found it to be a very social hostel which was nice.

If you don't have a car and are backpacking - poor location. At least 20 minutes out of town (although it is in a beautiful location). No free internet! You have to pay for wifi. Breakfast is expensive and not included. Bedrooms were excellent as were bathroom facilities. Kitchen has everything you need but was quiet and a bit dirty. Not a social hostel at all, although that may have just been when we were there.

Great hostel. Staff were very friendly. Events are held every night which are always fun and free. Good wifi throughout whole hostel, including bedrooms. Breakfast isn't included but only £1 extra so not too bad. Bedrooms are cleaned everyday so are closed between 11-2 also main area is closed before 8.30. Might be a problem if you're an early riser. But such a clean place, great facilities! Great location! Definitely stay there again.
