Las Musas Hostel

Madrid, Spain

Awesome and friendly staff, and while not being a party hostel, the common areas were great to meet lots of people. They organized events EVERY night, including bar crawls, tapas nights, and dance nights multiple times per week. I did the tapas night and bar crawl - both AWESOME and worth the money (thanks to Pablo!). Place is very clean with good A/C, and close to the metro to get wherever you need to. Highly recommended!

360 Hostel Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

Amazing and helpful staff. Not a party hostel, but you'll meet lots of people in the common area (for eating). Bar in the basement if that's your thing. I stayed in a 8 person dorm and there was a good amount of room. They organize going out events almost every night, and periodically will do free paella or pasta nights, which is a huge plus. Walking distance to gothic quarter/la rambla, metro, and a bit further - beach clubs. I'd definitely come back! Thanks guys.

Hostal MontaƱa

Ibiza, Spain

Mario and the staff at the front are extremely helpful, best thing about this place. Walking distance to SA beaches. Downsides: You'll need to take the Discobus to get to major Ibiza clubs/places (~ 45 minutes), bus stop is 10min walk away. It's VERY hard to meet people here, it's not a hostel but a hotel. I got pretty lonely. Security is allright with 24/7 monitoring, but they don't ask you to prove you're actually staying. NO A/C. Biggest con, just a small fan. You will be HOT.

Hello Marseille Hostel

Marseille, France

I was EXTREMELY surprised by this - in a bad way. I expected a really good hostel and was let down. No A/C and you will be dying of heat. Very hard to meet people, no real places to hang out (common room closes around 10PM). It's cool how it's in an old house, but I would try to go somewhere else. Upside - friendly and helpful staff.

No A/C, true, we don't want it, anti-ecologic and bad for health. Sorry for that, it won't change :) Harclose the lounge only for cleaning at noon, never at night. It's only that from 22h30, we have a "quiet" policy to respect the sleep of the travellers , so we shut the doors for noise but you can stay and have fun :) Sorry if you missed the point, and come again to visit us!

Hostel Meyerbeer Beach

Nice, France

Really good hostel - super comfy and clean rooms, good A/C, 2min from the beach. 15-20min walk to the old quarter though/busier section of Nice. Really easy to meet people in the common area/kitchen. Luis is awesome and super friendly! Other staff members are OK.

Ostello Bello

Milan, Italy

Only passed through Milan for one day, but this place was AWESOME. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, welcomed me with a drink. Free dinner and breakfast. Good A/C, balconies (public and private for rooms), close to metro and the Dom. Only small downside - a bit hidden and hard to find. Solution: Google and make sure you have a good map on you when you come to the hostel!

City Backpacker - Hostel Biber

Zurich, Switzerland

Super friendly staff. I can't remember the woman's name who helped me (someone in their 30s who likes metal), but she was great. Not a party hostel, and a bit hard to meet people. No A/C either so you'll probably be hot if it's the warmer months. Far from the hardcore clubs, but not too far from the main bar district (20min). Close to the train station and water.

MEININGER Salzburg City Center

Salzburg, Austria

NOT a hostel. It's a hotel. You'll meet some people in your dorm room, but you'll also see families in the common areas. Can be hard to meet people. Name is misleading - It's a 10min bus ride, or 30min walk to the old city (centre where everything is). A/C was messed up when I stayed, but good security (keycard) and clean. I'd try to find another hostel if possible just for the social aspect!

Dear Guest, Thank you for the review of our hotel! You are right our hose is a mixture between hostel and hotel and due that we do host different types of people. Due there are currently summer vacations in most countries; we currently do have lots of families staying with us. But be assured that at your next stay there would be plenty of backpackers to hang out with. Therefore we would be pleased to welcoming you again at MEININGER. Sincerely, Your MEININGER Team

Hostel Postel

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Awesome and helpful staff, close to the city centre and Cesky tower. Rooms are really comfortable, clean, and have good A/C. Quiet town so a quiet hostel - can be hard to meet people other than in your room but the kitchen is great. Definitely would stay here again. P.S. Ask them to hire you a taxi to/from the transit stations. It's worth the small amount of money.

Hostel Santini Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. MAKE SURE TO GET YOUR FREE SANDWICHES. About 20min walk to the old town square. Not a party hostel, and it was hard to meet people there. No A/C. Pub crawl is worth the money, do it. Nice rooms and the building itself is nice as well. Free lockers for your stuff too! Great value for the money, would stay again.

U inn Berlin Hostel

Berlin, Germany

Awesome hostel. About a 20min walk to major clubs (e.g. Watergate), and right near the metro. You're in a quiet neighbourhood but can easily get around by U/S-Bahn. Great staff as well, very helpful. Not a party hostel. You'll meet people in the kitchen which is the only real social area. They don't organize going out nights which I think could add a lot, I had to ask around to find out where to go out - but when I did, the staff obliged nicely :)

MEININGER Brussels City Center

Brussels, Belgium

NOT a hostel. It's a hotel. You'll meet some people in your dorm room, but you'll also see families in the common areas. Can be hard to meet people. About a 20min walk to the main square. RENT A BIKE, IT'S WORTH IT!!! Staff was pretty helpful, Maria is spunky and awesome! Get a Use-it Map and make sure to go to Delirium while you are here! The walking tour was amazing as well.

Antigallican Hotel

London, England

This is not a party hostel. You will be meeting some other travellers, it's usually not too crowded and not super lively. Entrance is restricted to those with a code to unlock entry. The place is reasonably clean, but not a hotel. I was in an 8 person dorm, and there was lots of space to spread out. Lockers are 2 pounds each. Walking distance to Charlton station, and serviced by night buses, but a good 30min transit at least to downtown. Two staff members were awesome
