Good hostel. The location is excellent and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The courtyard and hammocks were nice to hang out in. The party is fairly loud until late, so do be prepared for some noise - to be expected with a party hostel! The bikes are falling apart and the pool and hot tub didn’t look super clean, although we did see people cleaning them every morning. Great pricing/value.

Really liked this hostel. Not superrrr social, but I did meet some people (solo traveller). Great location, good breakfast, clean and cute all over. Would recommend!

The best part about this hostel is the perfect location. Many hostels in Canggu, you have to rent a scooter to get anywhere, but Echo Beach Hostel is walkable to most places (beach, bars, restaurants)! The rooms are small so not a lot of room for bags/stuff, but the beds are real mattresses and are nice. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the showerhead was broken. The A/C was average. Not really anywhere to hang out, so can't really comment on the social atmosphere but I met people in the dorm.

Really good hostel. It is a bit tricky to meet people, as there aren't really any common lounges/lobbies where people hang out, but I did make some awesome friends in my room after the first day. Location is excellent - walking distance to the central market, chinatown, Merderka square, etc. The rooftop bar is really cool - they play good music and have beer pong. The beds are huge and you get your own little cubby. Really good air con. Will definitely stay here again!

Good hostel, but not my favourite. The main issue was the location - it's far from everything except Soi cowboy, and everything in the area is quite expensive so you can't just walk and find street food. We had to take a lot of 150+ baht taxis multiple times a day to get anywhere that took about an hour each way because of traffic. Staff were ok, beds are really nice. Air con has specific hours. Quite a party hostel so easy to meet people. Food is a bit expensive - 100 baht for pad Thai.
Hey, it's Ben at Bodega. The location isn't for everyone, this part of massive BKK is where the markets and night life are, the famous rooftop bars, etc. In the future I would recommend using the "map/location" tab when booking, it's very handy, you know where on the map the hostel is located before you get there, amazing hey? Sorcery. There is actually a lot of street food just around the corner. We also have a walking tour that takes you all around BKK not to mention we are located on all the mass transit lines for easy access. I guess though you would have known this had you ever asked the staff. I was here all 4 days you were here and I never saw you. Cheers, Benjamin

Good hostel. Staff were really helpful, wifi is good, the pool is indoors so that's kind of odd if you wanted to hang in the sun. Didn't find it to be a super social hostel, although they have happy hour from 5-9. Beds and air con are good, showers and toilets not bad. Walking distance to everything.

Good place. Breakfast is good, not super social though (from my experience). Rooms are decent and showers/bathrooms average. The receptionist was really friendly. Would recommend.

Good hostel, not great. Breakfast is really good and the pool is nice. Showers/bathrooms are not very clean and the lights don't work in most of them. It's fairly social as there are lots of people. Walking distance to everything.

Good location - walking distance to bus station and night market and main streets. It's quite a nice hostel with a common area, "pool" (about 2 feet deep haha but it's nice to lounge by or dip your feet), free water and coffee, laundry facilities, etc. However, people were not really talking to each other and it wasn't super social. Very quiet.

Great stay here. There's a nice common area so it's not too bad to meet people. As a solo traveller I made a lot of friends at this hostel, which was nice. I prefer staying near Khao San Road in terms of location, as there isn't too much around the hostel that's "exciting", but it's still a good area.
Hey How are you doing? Thank you for the review we are really appreciate =) Now we got some new activities and tour around the district so we would love to welcome you back again and make your stay more incredible xx Have a nice day!

Love this hostel! The workers are so friendly and a lot of fun, it's clean and the beds are nice, hot showers, good free breakfast in the morning, free shuttles to the beach, and the island tour is also a lot of fun. Definitely a good party. Shout out to Paul, Rory, Benny, Nam, and Tammy for making our stay so special :-)

Good place for solo travellers - easy to meet people. The breakfast is good - cereal, fruit, coffee/tea and on Tuesdays and Saturdays you get a pancake and fried egg! Free filtered water.

Main thing that bugged me was that you could easily break into any room. Also, we had a fan room with no air con and our fan didn't even rotate so it was super hot at night. Love the pool and the food at the hostel is super good and cheap.

Amazing hostel! Must stay here. Especially great for solo travellers - made so many friends here, the common area was very social. Location is perfect, super close to Khao San road. Staff are awesome and the place is really clean.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at! The rooms were good and they had a bathroom attached to each one (no toilet there though - that was shared among the floor). Everyone was really nice and it was easy to meet people. You can use the kitchen and the fridge for cooking

Good place to stay! Breakfast was great with coffee, mint tea, orange juice, bread, jam, cakes, and pancake-like pastries. The rooftop terraces with chairs are really nice. The pool was closed for cleaning when we were there but it looked like a good area. Rooms are fine and bathrooms were good with hot water. Staff was friendly. Lots of other people staying there but the hostel is so big that there didn't seem to be one main place to meet others. Location is prime. Definitely recommend!

There were a couple staff members who were great, but other than that the hostel was nothing special. It's about a 20 minute walk to the main square and not too much close by. The staff seemed to stay up pretty late talking in the night which echoed throughout the riad. They also forgot to pick up our friend from the airport who waited for two hours and eventually had to buy wifi then take the bus alone as a young female traveller, which did not turn out well. Also, no hot water downstairs.

Good hostel! There is a common room for people to chill in, but no on seemed to be out and socializing and nothing was going on in the evening. Although, we did stay in February, which is low season so I could imagine the summer being better! They organize pub crawls on weekends if there is enough interest.

The hostel to stay at to meet people! The walk into town is not very far - as others say. Only about 10-15 minutes.

As others say, very social, but not the nicest/cleanest hostel. While we loved having the family dinner, there was nothing else close by except a few pho restaurants. The staff will do anything to make you happy though!

Wonderful staff. Rooms are small but fine. Pool is also a nice benefit. Lots of restaurants/shops close by and a quick walk to the beautiful river. The best A/C I've experienced in Southeast Asia so far!

Great stay at this hostel. Love the free beer from 7:30-8:30 and easy to meet people during this time. Not the best breakfast, but for $5 a night, can't complain. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice hostel. Was welcomed with iced green tea and bananas. The staff were very helpful in suggesing where to go and also showed concern for our security. The breakfast was great every morning. Lovely family hostel - definitely not a party scene and not super social. Location was great! Lots close by.

The hostel is pretty average. Mostly what keeps it from being excellent is the location. My friend and I wanted to try to find something to eat the evening we arrived but there was literally nothing in walking distance. The food at the hostel is way overpriced for the small portions you get. The air con was extremely weak so our room was really hot. The pool is a plus though and the staff were friendly. Personally, wouldn't stay here again.
Here at 88 we take all customer feedback on board as we are constantly looking at ways to improve our business. I cant help feel that you have failed to really explore the local area. We are a short walk from Wat Phnom, Central Market & Riverside. Food poisoning is common in SE Asia. We source the best quality food possible to ensure that doesn't happen. We encourage all feedback during your stay, we could have solved your AC issue. Usually its an issue with the remote not being used correctly.
