Excellent location - a walk by the river, and next to Guilin's central parks/waterways, and to the nearby night market is perfect in the evening! It's also close to train and bus stations, has clean rooms with everything you'd need, and helpful staff who can recommend sights to see in the area. Thank you!
From the Dazhai bus drop off, it can be quite a hike uphill if you have big bags and might be worth paying one of the local women. Hostel location less isolated and rustic than we'd imagined, but still has beautiful views. Compared to other hostels, this one wasn't quite so plush. Although, perfectly fine for the price and considering it's essentially a hiker's hostel. Hot water is a bit on and off, and internet only takes 20 devices at a time. On the plus side we loved the downstairs commonroom
The best hostel I've ever stayed in. It felt like a hotel and was excellent value for money ! Bags of atmosphere, and having been pizza-deprived for most of the yr in Beijing, we really appreciated your wood oven ! Definitely rent bikes and follow one of the routes recommended. Also fantastic hiking. Thank you Ronnie, who works there and led us on a hike to a picturesque fishing village. Unfortunately we took a long detour and made him late for work. Sorry, and we really appreciate it :-)
A perfect place to stay - great value, and location is perfect for taking subway on the central line. Apparently breakfast not great, but you can easily find yummy bread, fruit or cheap baozi (dumpling buns) from street stalls nearby. All other aspects just perfect. We were in a dorm and also very impressed by how clean the hostel was.
