Hostal El Recreo

Awesome place, super nice family run hostel. Good rooms, lockers, clean the rooms every day, good kitchen, hot water...all that. Really good value for money. About a 10 minute walk to the center which was no problem. Stores nearby for drinks and such.

Nice hostel about 10 min walk from town. Expensive for what it is and the location... Has all the standard things you want: big lockers, AC, clean toilets, hot water, etc.. One weird thing is that there is a kitchen inside each dorm room! Could be a problem with inconsiderate roommates or you sleep early.

Really nice hostel.. Good beds, central location, small lockers for valuables, good kitchen, super friendly staff (including a cute dog), nice courtyard, etc.. Wish the internet worked better in the downstairs dorms but that's it.. Definitely recommended..

Perfectly acceptable hostel. Close to the bus station. Thin walls, not the best kitchen and needs an extra toilet and more power outlets in the rooms BUT a really nice outdoor area, friendly staff and solid lockers and beds in the dorms.

Would not stay here again. Ever. The staff was unfriendly to the point of being rude, they played loud rock music from 9am until 3am with all the lights on right next to the dorm which has large windows to the hallway. Small awkward kitchen. Lady cleans the bathrooms in the morning when you want to use them. On a busy street which is convenient but bad when the vendors are yelling outside your window from 8am. Rickety, cheap metal beds that sway. Trying to be a party hostel but it just sucked.

Meh.. You can't bring in outside alcohol because they have a bar, no common room is a pain and the dorm had 16 beds in a dark, damp room. Decent atmosphere and the staff were nice. Small lockers for valuables.

Owner Comment (Hide)
we have 2 dormitorios with 4 beds each, double room shared bathroom and private bathroom as well... it that clear? We pay taxes for the bar thats why its now allowed to bring alcohol from outside. About the lockers there is a big one, and another lockers smallest, but still you can use it to keep your computer o a bag( regular size) wich are for free by the way, thank you for your comment, and being objective is really necessary when you write a comment.

Was ok. Located in the old part of the city near some good sights, etc but gets kind of shady at night. Staff were friendly, place was clean, breakfast was ok. Would stay there again but not before looking for somewhere else first.

Good location, SUPER nice and helpful staff, big under-the-bed lockers, proper kitchen and the tour they organized was sweet and good value. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Marcopolo Inn

Feels more like a dingy hotel than a hostel. Was acceptable but not very pleasant. You're not allowed to bring in your own alcohol because they have a bar, no shared kitchen stuff, unusable WiFi when there weren't that many people there and a weird trying-to-party-but-failing atmosphere. And it's up a big hill... Other better places in Bariloche.
