The reception staff were great, so friendly and helpful and they remember your name! Communal areas were slightly lacking.
Good communal area with lots of people drinking together at the front of the hostel. Bathrooms could of been cleaner and staff were not overly helpful.
Best thing about the hostel was the nights out, reps take you all to the same bars and clubs, a good way to meet people. The castaway tour, which most people book through the hostel is a bit of a rip off and we had just as good a time with Ha Long bay party cruises for half the price!
We sometimes try and avoid the big chain hostels and find nice little ones where you can get to know all the guests better but you really can't go wrong with some big backpacker hostels! Good bar and met plenty of people! Nice enough room and right next to the backpacker bars and restaurants.
One of my favourite hostels in SE Asia! great swimming pool, good nights out, Hoi An is just a great place! could do with more dorms rather than private rooms.
Right on the beach which was great! Nice private dorms but not a great communal area, needs a bar!
Ludicrous system in the rooftop bar and bit of a lack of atmosphere. Rooms are nice and bathrooms are good but not my idea of a good hostel
Good hostel, you cant really go wrong with Mad Monkeys. The organised pub crawl is great for meeting people.
Lacked an atmosphere not sure if that was just because it was not peak season. Great cheap dorm rooms with air con for $6!! Time was better spent at Utopia or Monkey republic though
One of my favourite hostels in SE Asia! The rooftop bar is a great place to meet people and the swimming pool is a great place to chill in the day!
A cool place, very artsy! Juju the hostel dog is hilarious. Everyone chats to eachother and the dorm rooms and bathrooms are good just needs a bar!
Not my favourite hostel thats for sure, I'm all for a basic stay in the mountains but the bathroom block is grim and wildlife just gets in everywhere around the hostel! Atmosphere seemed great but we were never that welcomed in to it so just spent all our time heading in to the town which is a bit of a mission unless you rent a moto! Free breakfast may as well just say toast.
Right in the backpacker district and has a pool! So that's a good start, not really much of an atmosphere but you can get over that by heading out to the close by bars and Zoe's! Free breakfast is always welcome!
Sundance is a great small hostel to meet people! Gee is great fun and really good for organizing tours. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner and it is a bit out of the way from the main backpacker area but only $2 for a tuk-tuk.
More of a chillout place but thats what we wanted. Right on the beach which was great. Quite pricey. Great couple that own the place.
This hostel has it all, well the pool was being built when we stayed but soon it will have it all! Yet it hasn't got a great atmosphere and is a drive away from everything. Not the best place to stay for a moon party. Played footy with the french staff which was fun!
A bit pricey in hindsight and the 16 bed dorm is the most ridiculously squashed room I have ever seen. You can barely fit between the bunks! Air con isn't on all day which is annoying. And as much as you are on the beach and in a great location there still should be some more atmosphere at the place, a lot of people just using the hostel as a bed and nothing else.
A great place for dorms and bathrooms but despite having a nice communal area still lacking atmosphere. The trouble with places like this is that the hostel don't make enough effort to get everyone together and having fun! Do an organised pub crawl or something.
Bit of a nothing place, a good bed and dorm but without anything else of note! Definitely try and stay in a more happening hostel!
