Only negative part is the loud nighttime music nearby, especially from what seemed to be a dance club. Otherwise, great place.

The owner, Mel, who is from Singapore, is very helpful and kind! He does his best to tell you where to go, how to get there, and what to eat. Definitely consider staying here. Just bring your own soap and tissue for the bathrooms. It's in a great location: a short walk from the new city center and very close to many useful bus stops!
Thank you for this review. I am glad you all enjoyed your stay, and give adequate advice for future travelers. Looking forward to hosting you in the future, when you get to travel to Guizhou Province again. Advice for future travelers: places you can visit if Guiyang is just a transit point. Zhenyuan, Fanjing Mountain, Kaili Xijiang or Langde Miao Village, Anshun Zhenning Stone Village, Anzhun Huang Guo Shu Waterfalls, Anshun Ziyun Getu River, Congjiang Zhaoxing, Jiabang Rice Terrace Fields, Tang An, Taijiang Shidong.. etc Around Guiyang: Eat, eat eat. Find anything spicy and sour to savor. Places to visit, Qianling Mountain Park, Xiao Che He Wetlands Park, Confucius School in Huaxi District, Tian He Tan, Qingyan Ancient Town, Guizhou Ethinic Museum, Kaiyang HouEr Sink Hole, Kaiyang Nanjiang Gorge...etc Places to eat: Uptown, Tripsmith, etc...

Awesome location! Near big Mosque and best night market. But, there is lots of smoking in the common areas and the bathroom/shower area doesn't have a hand wash area (no sink or soap). And if you're looking for a western sit-down toilet, they have one, but it is rarely used and has very little leg room. Wherever you stay in Kashgar, pace yourself with the street food! Be careful!

Nice easy-going place to plan Turpan and Xinjiang travels. Be sure to not wear shoes in the rooms or cancel your booking without a good excuse.

Charley is a friendly guy, happy to help you in Dunhuang, but the bathroom is just too dirty and gross. Too many flies and too stinky to stay here more than one or two nights.

Best part is the good wifi in the lobby. This hostel has few foreigners, has dirty bathrooms (one western toilet in the men's bathroom), people always smoking in the lobby, and seems to favor quantity of people coming in over the quality of their stay. I was also rudely woken up at 7:10am by the driver for a group trip to Mati Si caves. The hostel had told me the day before to meet in the lobby at 8am. :-(

Tashi, the owner, is very friendly and eager to help! He is from southern Qinghai and speaks excellent English. Try to give yourself extra time for Qinghai Lake and other places in Qinghai because it's a gorgeous part of China. There are two western-style bathrooms and one shower. You can do laundry. To get there from the Xining train station or bus station, just show a taxi driver the address then follow the rest of the directions to the 11th floor. 南山路藏医院旁 建新巷 陇原叠翠小区 六号楼 三单元 十一楼 3111 室 谢谢

Stay away! It took me an hour to find this place, and they turned me away because they couldn't house foreigners anymore. Do not book here.

Great hostel! One tip: going to the Terracotta warriors and Tomb of Emperor Jingdi on your own are much cheaper and than going on the Hostel tour. The Jingdi museum is not crowded and you can use Lonely Planet for advice on which bus to use.
Thank you so much for your kind review that shows us your high prise of our hostel,we will strive to exceed and do better and better. And no matter where you are willing to go, our staff will give you some suggetsions and you can decide which one is better for you, no enforcement, no rush. haha, have a nice trip and take care.

Incredible location in the middle of the rice terraces! Staff are friendly and helpful. Their eggplant dinner dish is great and they help you book a bus back to Guilin. To get to the hostel, call the hostel and ask them to book a seat for you on a bus (actually a van, not a big bus) from the Hong Kong hotel. The Hong Kong hotel staff will not know anything about this bus. Follow the hostel's directions and book a seat with them ahead of time. Two nights here is perfect for the rice terraces.

The BEST! If you want to experience the real, quiet and beautiful Yangshuo area...this is the place to stay! Very few cars nearby, sounds of frogs in the evening, and a 15-minute walk from the main streets of Yangshuo. The western food is AMAZING. The staff were the most friendly and helpful of all the (many) hostels I've stayed in in China. Bikes are easy and cheap to rent for half- or full-days.

Very unhelpful staff! :-( Even if you speak Chinese, the hostel staff is not helpful. The dog in the lobby was the best part. (The hostel is very close to a metro stop, but the one metro line now doesn't go where you want it to go.)

Staff were not helpful, and I would recommend finding a different Hostel to stay in. Find a Hostel that's not in a very residential building/area.
