We arrived to this hostel having booked a 7 bed mixed dorm and what we found turned out to be a 12 matresses on the floor dormitory without air conditioning but noisy fans. It was quite shocking when the owner of the hostel charged money for hot water to prepare instant noodles, he was kind though letting us have a shower for free...
The fan dorm you booked had 1 extra bed as a guest had a friend who wanted to stay in the same room. So we put 1 extra bed down. When you book a fan dorm why would you be upset when it is a fan dorm and not A/C?? Also you purchased an item from the menu and now seem to be complaining that that item wasn't free?? Hot water is on the menu at 25cents as people want it for their noodles just like you did (comes in a bowl with chopsticks, spoon and a fork)

Chunking Masions is not the nicest place to stay in Hong Kong, but if is probably the cheapest. Considering that, this hostel is quite good, it is clean and feels safe, a bit pricy though.

We stayed there only 2 nights and would never go back. It is a private apartment made hostel. We stayed in a 8 people dormitory, the owner of the place decided that the AC would be on only during the night (I guess because it is cheaper) therefore the rom was so hot and humid, at 8 o'clock she came into the room to turn the AC off and clean the room regardless of people sleeping there, not considerate at all. Unfriendly and expensive.

I stayed there for three days and it was a very nice experience. Everyone was really helpful and the breakfast is quite good. I even learnt how to play Majiang and enjoyed meeting people and hanging out with them in the hostel as well as outside. I highly reccomend Green Forest, it is always a good choice.

Clean and nice hostel with big rooms. Location is not really good if you want to enjoy bars and nightlife in the city so it is far from downtown, but on the other hand it is near the bus station to go to the mountain and the villages nearby. The staff was helpful but a bit hesitant and their indications confusing sometimes. Overall a good stay there.
thanks for you good comments. for the location, we are just 2 km from the downtown which is within walking distance. if you stay in china for longer time, you will know it's just a little distance. and we have some new staff here so they may don't know much about your questions. but right now they become better. anyway, thanks for your good words. welcome to huangshan again.

I stayed in this hostel in July and most of people there were Chinese students because it is very close to Nanjing University. You can feel humidity in the rooms and showers are not clean. The common area is not big and there are not many activities to help you meet new people. The good point is the location, near the university and many cheap bars and restaurants nearby.

Had a great time at Happy Dragon courtyard. It went with a friend, it was our first time in Beijing and this was definitely the right place to stay. Very close to metro station. The staff are very friendly and all of them can speak good English. Kind regards to 文娜 and 尚鸽 the two girls in the bar who are really nice. Besides, we could learn how to make dumplings thanks to the staff in the hostel as well as enjoy an international atmosphere with people coming from several countries.
