Coastgate Hotel - Miritini, Mombasa, Kenya

The perfect hotel if you are looking for easy access to the airport, but far from downtown Mombasa. The rooms were extremely clean, the food was delicious, and there was complementary breakfast. The free airport shuttle is also great. "Value for money" is definitely excellent...I suggest giving Coastgate Hotel a try!

If you like bugs, stay here. If you don't like bugs, don't stay here. If you want to explore Dar, it's not the best place to stay. It's not the most pleasant area. However, it is fairly close to the ferry if you are heading to Zanzibar. If you are staying one night it is a fine place to stay. Just check for bugs before you get comfortable.

New Teddy's is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The staff is eager to help you with anything, including helping to find excursions and other places to stay. I would have stayed here longer if time had allowed it. The bathrooms were fairly clean, the dorm room was a great size with plenty of places to put your belongings, and the atmosphere was incredible. Lots of hammocks! I highly recommend staying at New Teddy's.
