Our stay at Safari Hostel during the World Cup was great! Paulo is very helpful, friendly, and helped us get to all of the places we wanted to be. He showed us around the rainforest area and gave us good tips for the best hiking spots. This is a great place to stay if you want to see some nature, be comfortable with lots of space and clean amenities, and feel at home. The breakfast was the best we had during our trip spanning 10 days! There's also a bar and gas station located across the street.

Santa Semente

Santa Semente is located in Santa Teresa which provides nice exposure to local culture. While there we walked to a local bar and had some burgers while locals played music outside and celebrated Brazil's participation in the World Cup. The hostel itself has a great view of the neighborhood and the city with a nice open rooftop. The wifi was hard to connect to but it worked sometimes. All-in-all we had a good time with guests from all over the world and friendly hosts.

Walk On The Beach Hostel

Walk on the Beach was the best hostel we stayed at during the World Cup. The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly, as well as the bar staff. All of them could speak Portuguese and English, and some spoke Spanish. They helped us get to any place we needed around all of Rio and showed us where to party as well. They even shared some of their favorite pizza with us! :) The bar is great, the wifi was fast (also desktops available), and the bathrooms were regularly cleaned. Check them out!
