Where to start? I've been traveling for almost a year now and the Meeting Place will go down as one of, if not my favourite hostel. Michael, Ben, and the rest of the staff (I'm so sorry I've forgotten the names of the ladies who worked there) made Taipei a fantastic stop despite my being under rather some stress at the time. Their advice helped me make the most of my stay, while the hostel was clean, with a great atmosphere, easy to sleep and socialize, great food nearby. Can't recommend enough.

Great atmosphere, very affordable beers,, near restaurants, a fine walk to major tourist spots, front desk willing to help with booking tours, great refreshing pool, gorgeous private rooms. Staff isn't always around when you need them and check-in was half an hour late after we already waited an hour (could not check in before 2pm, they said). Breakfast is simple but tasty and served whenever you want, all day. Overall, strong recommendation.
Great hostel, loved our stay. Clean, quiet enough to sleep but great common areas, good staff, modern building with good WiFi usually, right off a street with fantastic and cheap Thai food, and just two minutes from the Skytrain line. The only downside is it isn't close to Khaosan Road or the old city, but it shouldn't cost much to take a metered taxi there if that's what you're there for. Highly recommend this place!
Close walk from everything, extremely helpful staff, and good atmosphere even in the offseason.
We were there in the off-season (early November), possibly one of only two sets of people in the whole hotel? Anyways, nice-sized double private with ensuite. Front desk was friendly, location was great, just down the street to food, bus station, and the site. Would stay again, no complaints.
Friendly staff, unbeatable location, great-sized room. WiFi was okay, not great, but that seems to be Europe.
Good location, friendly staff, fresh towels and the bed made-up every day. Downside was that the maid must have been smoking in the room, but this was a minor inconvenience as we simply opened the window when we came back.
Fantastic hostel except for sleep. Friendly staff, unbeatable location, good kitchen, easy to meet people. The party music stops by midnight every night, which is kind, and not the problem. The fact is every noise in the main area is heard inside your room, so light sleepers, beware.
Great location, friendly staff, good-sized room, clean, no problems with noise. WiFi could be stronger, but oh well, you're there for Old Town across the street, right?
Great hostel, stay here! Big kitchen, nice rooms, good sized common area, great WiFi, fantastic location right near Nevsky Prospect (the main street) and easy walking distance to all the best sites. Only downside is not close to metro. Remember to push hard on the gate to get in :)
Loved the location, friendly staff, clean room. However there do appear to be long-term older guests, and there were children there too when we stayed (not sure if long-term or not). So, poor atmosphere. WiFi ok. Seems to have fallen from its former glory, but you still can't beat the location!
Picked up from the train at 4:50am and let into our room right away, clean big shower and toilet in a separate room, good sized kitchen, lots of helpful advice. Great hostel, would stay again.
A must-stay. Listvyanka is beautiful, Olga's is just up the street from the stunning Lake Baikal, and she is a wonderful host. Greeted with cookies and tea, given comfortable beds, and made the most delicious breakfast. We were always made to feel like home, and her English is quite sufficient to help you with anything you might need. My only regret is staying just one night.
An apartment just off Sukbaatar Square with two bedrooms (one private, one dorm), nice little bathroom with washing machine, and full kitchen with everything but a toaster. We were the only ones there at the time, so had it all to ourselves! Natsagaa was very good to us, so helpful, and the location is perfect, can't be beat. We returned after our trek in the countryside, and would again.
Fantastic location, neat little courtyard right outside your room, good food, and very friendly staff (plus a beautiful golden retriever). WiFi is weak in rooms, otherwise, no complaints.
The water (shower, sink) all smelled like eggs. Otherwise, good staff, nice bar/restaurant, laundry was affordable, WiFi was ok in the rooms, good in the bar, and the location is really nice. Look outside your window to the Bell Tower, good food all around, metro right there, bus to train station (same place you can catch a bus to the terracotta army) is right outside too. All in all, it'd be a real easy recommendation except for that egg smell...
Great staff, neat little place, very professional in their set-up, knowledgeable and helpful, solid WiFi, and that Big Bear Burger is delicious! Wish we'd planned to stay more than one night.
Awesome location, would do again, but terrible directions. Save yourself, use these: Taxi to park entrance (100 RMB) (save confusion of bussing in a circle like us) Enter park, walk along Golden Whip Stream 5.5km Take bus ~2 minutes to elevator Elevator to top, walk a few hundred metres, take bus. Bus drops you off about 200 metres down the road from another bus station. Walk up, take minibus for about minutes. Hostel on your left side as you make a turn. Tell driver to stop, get out, relax,
More like a hotel above the common area floor, but fantastic hostel. Great open roof for drinking beers and looking over the city, awesome location, helpful staff, good food. Would stay again.
Fantastic staff, location, value for money, cleanliness. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Wanted to book more but they were full, and I'm not surprised.
