Location is about a 10-minute walk from the main area with all the restaurants and cafes. The owner was very friendly and helpful with any questions I had about the town. Private room was nice with AC, and the toilets and showers were clean.

A purpose-built hostel with excellent facilities. The staff was very helpful and the wifi was fast. It does feel a little too impersonal though because of how big it is.

What it lacks in size, it makes up in atmosphere. It feels like you are sharing an apartment with roommates. Bathroom is fully stocked with towels, toothbrushes, and other toiletries. The only con is that there's only 1 shower and 1 toilet. But also only have 10 beds, so it wasn't a big problem.

Excellent new and modern hostel. Very large fully stocked kitchen. Free coffee and tea. Clean rooms and bathrooms. TV in my 5-bed dorm room. Never had that before. Free backpack storage when I did the Tongoriro Northern Circuit. The only thing lacking a little was the atmosphere. There were almost no people there when I stayed in late March.

About a 10-minute walk from Intercity bus station. Right by the beach. The building and rooms are a bit old but everything worked well and was very clean. Free wifi which was welcomed. No lockers in each room, but there are coin-operated large lockers by the reception desk. I stayed in a 4-bed room, which had 1 bunk bed and 2 other single beds.

A nice hostel a little away from downtown Auckland, but in a very nice area called Ponsonby, with many cafes and a nice international food court around. Owner was helpful with any questions I had. No bunk beds in my 4-bed dorm room. Super clean individual bathrooms. Large kitchen and lounge area. Nice porch and lawn at the back. They do charge a 3% fee for using credit cards. Not a big deal, I just payed in cash. Also, I wish they had free wifi. The payed on wasn't very fast.

Great family owned hostel. Super clean, they made my bed and changed the sheet everyday. Good kitchen, good atmosphere with tons of DVD movies to choose from. The owner is very helpful with any questions you might have regarding transportation and hiking around town. Wifi is weak, but that's the case in the whole town.

Great location in a very nice part of town. Excellent breakfast of freshly prepared egg sandwiches and fresh fruit and coffee/tea. Facilities are a little old, but still good. The only complain I have is that I left a bag of laundry for them to wash, and when I went to pick it up at checkout, it was still there unwashed

Located a few blocks away from the city, this hostel has a very relaxed atmosphere. Helpful staff. Good bathrooms and showers. Good wifi, decent kitchen if a bit small. There's a patio on the back with hammocks to enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature.

A very nice hostel with a very warm and caring owner. Only stayed for 1 night but enjoyed the warm and cozy atmosphere. Good bathroom/shower. No breakfast included as it is with most of the hostels in Colombia.

Feels more like a hotel than a hostel. The facilities are new and excellent. Big TV room, excellent beds with curtains for privacy. Good bathroom and showers. A couple of blocks from Parque Lleras, so it can be very noisy.

Right in the center of the historic town. Helpful staff. Basic breakfast of cereal, milk, bread, and coffee. They turn the A/C off in the morning, so staying in the room during the day can be unbearable. Small swimming pool that I didn't use. Good bathroom and showers.

Great place to relax and be lazy in this sleepy fishing town. The swimming pool, hammocks, TV area, and great food all make you want to extend your stay way past your original departure date. The owner and her family and the other staff all provide excellent service and make sure you have the best time while staying there.

Keeping in mind that this is a party hostel, that music will be loud every night until around 1am, that people in your room in come into the room drunk in the middle of the night, this is an excellent hostel. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly throughout the day, there are safety boxes in each room for your valuables. Great rooftop bar with hammocks. Great TV room. The only thing I'd complain about is that most of the food they sell is of the American junk food type.

A great hostel with a modern feel to it. The 8-bed dorm is really more of 2 connected rooms of 4 beds each. Great breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. Because it is also a pousada, it does feel more like a pousada than a hostel though. When I was there I didn't meet other international backpackers.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It was almost brand new and built from the ground up to be a hostel, with little details like dual lockers (below and next to each bed, with power outlet inside), individual reading light and fan, separate private area next to shower to hand your clothes/toiletries, a great caipirinha for each night you stay there, great BBQs on monday nights, among other things. The staff were all very helpul and friendly, including the owner Francisco.

I felt cramped staying on the top of the triple-bunk in the 9-bed dorm room. It felt that I had no space to spread out my stuff. I wish they'd have double bunks instead of triple ones. Aside from that, the breakfast is great. The owner is very helpful with any questions you may have. The location is in a great and lively part of the city.

Only a few blocks away from Copacabana beach. The staff is great and helpful. The atmosphere is great as well, maybe because of the daily caipirinha happy hour. I do dislike triple bunk beds in general and this was no exception, but maybe they were just there because of the world cup.

The staff is great but you need lockers in each room. When you are 15-bed rooms and only 10-15 lockers for the whole hostel, that's not enough. The ladders on the triple bunk beds are hard to climb. The breakfast could use some variety from day to day. It is the same thing everyday.

I stayed at the 2nd building, the one with smaller dorm rooms. I though the pancake breakfast was monotonous. Aside from that, it is good hostel by Bolivian standards.

Great great hostel. I really appreciated having power outlets inside the lockers. Good food and drinks at the bar. Felt very safe with 24-hour security guard at the front door.
