For atmosphere, Clown and Bard is very good. A bar serving pints at the equivalent of £1, coupled with the anything goes policy make this place superb for meeting people and having fun. However the facilities in general are poor, with disappointing showers and no working kitchen equipment, while the WiFi rarely works. If you want cheap and fun, this is the place to stay. If you want nice facilities, you should reconsider.

Quite a big hostel, the welcome was warm and friendly and the room was pretty standard. Showers and toilets were good, as was the WiFi. Kitchen upstairs is small, but manageable and free computers throughout are a bonus. The bar has a good atmosphere and for the price, you really can't complain.

By far and away my favourite hostel out of the 12 I have stayed at on my journey. Warm welcome with a map detailing the best places to go. Free breakfasts and dinner make this place exceptional value for money. Day tours to Auschwitz are so easy and are a must, while the drinking games in the evening are not only fun but bring everyone together! Facilities are very good too, must stay!

Had to wait over 30 minutes at the desk for check-in due to one computer not working. Room was standard, toilet and showers average. The garden had a good atmosphere, with a BBQ going. The bar served cheap beer and the Pub Crawl was one of the best nights I've had. WiFi also worked well.

Situated as close to Westbanhof as you could want, it's easy access to the hostel but the centre is a few minute walk away. Friendly check in, but the welcome beer was tiny. Decent kitchen and bar had a good atmosphere with good happy hour deals, but rooms were basic with temperamental lockers; while the rooms were poorly ventilated and air conditioned so had a pretty poor nights sleep.

Welcomed in perfect English, given a few tips and advice. Room was on 4th floor and the lift was temperamental. Room was standard, nice balcony though. Laundry facilities are well priced and easy to use, while the location is perfect for train use and the bar had a great atmosphere, serving 0.5L for €2.90! Overall a very good hostel.

Much more like a hotel than a hostel, it is deceptively far from the main Salzburg station and public transport is very expensive. We had an average welcome, but with no advice on where to go or a map. However, we are pleasantly surprised we got upgraded from a 9 bed to a private 4 bed room.
Hi there! Thank you very much for your feedback! We´re sorry about the welcome - that is definitely not our standard and we will try to improve here! We´re also glad to hear that all in all you enjoyed your stay in Salzburg and would be happy to welcome you again! Best wishes Your MEININGER Salzburg Team

A little walk out the centre, the accommodation is cheap. The rooms are well sized but the bunk beds are dated. Showers are fantastic and despite saying otherwise there is a kitchen which was a nice surprise. We were greeted well, with directions to all the main spots.

About a 10 minute walk out of the centre and 15 from the train station, it is not ideally located; however it is next to Tivoli Park which has plenty of sporting activities to offer. The hostel itself is very modern and new with a nice seating area. Our welcome was very good with maps and directions to everywhere we needed. Staff were very friendly and the showers were on point. If you don't mind a stroll into Ljubljana, this hostel not only offers value for money, but also a very pleasant stay.

Much bigger hostel than expected, welcome was in good English. WiFi did not work in our room and was temperamental throughout. Showers did not stay in place and were usually clogged. Atmosphere was quality though and the tour to Plitvice Lakes although expensive is absolutely unmissable. Food from hostel is quality and cheap. Pros and cons, don't expect everything to work, but expect a good time.

Good welcome, map of Split with good local knowledge. WiFi always worked, bed was a little broken but manageable. 10 minute walk from centre, but again more than manageable. Very decent for the price.
