I booked this room on the basis of the great reviews but I was disappointed. I booked a room in a 2 bedroom apartment, which turned out to be a room with access to a shared kitchenette located in another bedroom. On our 2nd night, that room was occupied in which we lost access to the kitchenette. No privacy in room either, people could see through blind from courtyard. The room did have TV, wifi & aircon. Teo is lovely and welcoming with good recommendations for local food.

Fantastic place - I highly recommend it. Wifi was good in the lounge room but not good in the bedroom, but otherwise I 100% recommend this place. Great view over the hills which was nice to look at while we sat on the balcony with a cup of tea. The apartment was super clean, very big and had a nice atmosphere. Definitely book.

I felt so comfortable in this hostel, so relaxing: it is truly like being in your own home. The common area (lounge & dinning) is large enough to have space and relax. The 8 bed dorm was huge, so good to feel like I had my own space. The staff are so friendly and great. The kitchen is good, free tea & coffee all day. The whole place is super clean. I can highly recommend this place.

DON'T BOOK TWIN PRIVATE!!! If you book this room you will be in the basement level which smells strongly like damp and there is mould all over the walls. The rooms are dirty with yucky old mattresses. The shower on our floor was filthy with hair and mould all over it. The top floor, that has the dorm rooms, was a lot better with clean bathrooms. Not sure if this is on purpose? DO NOT book a private room here, you'll regret it, even for the price. Also, really really bad unusable wifi.

Great hostel, it is like a cute B&B more than a hostel, but I loved this. We stayed in a private double, good size room and very clean. Kitchen was very nice with dinning room table and small TV in same room. You couldn't get a better location, close to everything (Cesky Kromlov is tiny!). The only complaint is the paper thin walls, could hear people coming back late at night or leaving early and it would wake us. Also could hear conversations in the other rooms with our door and their door shut

Clean hostel. Showers are in a private bathroom each, so lots of privacy and room to get changed. Free BBQ on Saturday night was great. Good wifi. Nice common area. Good basic breakfast. Free tea and coffee all day. Area seems yucky upon arrival, but is actually really good with good resturants a short walk from hostel. We had the best Pho at Resturant Hoi An: massive bowl for only €3!

Flying Pig Uptown, Amsterdam, Netherlands

The flying Pig Uptown is a clean hostel. Good shower and toilet facilities. Staff are helpful and the bar is lively. Breakfast came with boiled eggs :) 1 negative: the kitchen is open 1pm - 10pm. We were unable to prepare food in the morning for lunch later that day. They would open the kitchen if u wanted to get a lunch box from the fridge, but no preparing sandwiches etc before 1pm. Also, the bar area is the eating area which was too overcrowded and noisy at night to comfortably eat dinner.

Hi there, Thanks for leaving us your nice and helpful review. After breakfast we need to clear and clean everything that was used for breakfast which runs until 11. Our staff have to use the little space we have to clean the kitchen for the guests and prepare for the bar to open. This is the reason why we can't open the kitchen earlier, unfortunately. Again, thanks for your comments, we hope to see you back some day. Cheers, The Flying Pig Uptown

This hostel has a fabulous home-like feel. We liked the comfy lounge room. Our room was the double private - it was huge, had a desk, wardrobe, 2 bedside tables as well as towels and soap on the bed. The owner was very helpful going out of his way tell us what there is to do in Faro and helping us book/find transport for day trips outside of Faro. The only thing was that there was no stove in the kitchen; cooking facilities available are, fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster. We recommend here.

It looks like it has more common rooms online - it only has one smallish common room and an additional roof top area. The kitchen is small and gets very crowded at night. The hot tub was thoroughly disappointing! It was cold and dirty! It does not have a swimming pool as it mentions on the facilities page, only a cold hot tub. The wifi did not work in my room and was very slow at times on my laptop as well as their computers. I don't think it is worth the price.

Good common rooms downstairs, lots of space and a quite/chilled kitchen and roof top area. Very large dorm rooms. Rooms & bathrooms very clean. There are two buildings with dorms, connected by the bottom common rooms. The kitchen is only in one building, need to cross over to use. No wifi in dorms if in building without kitchen. Not enough bathrooms. The beds are too skinny, felt like was going to fall off - ladders to top bunk flimsy thin wood (home made), accident waiting to happen.

Clean and good location. Pleasant staff. Rooms were good size. The showers were push button to make the water run but only lasted 45seconds so had to constantly push it over and over while showering. No wifi in the rooms, wifi the common area/kitchen downstairs which closed at 11pm. They have a largish courtyard next to the kitchen, the kitchen/common area was small. Not many kitchen utensils and only one small chopping knife. They use paper plates/bowls, plastic knifes/forks. Good for price.

The staff there were lovely. The only thing was that there was no common room. The hostel was an apartment building, upon arrival you would receive a key to apartment and your room. In your allocated apartment there is 4 bedrooms with a varying amount of beds in each. The only common space was a very small kitchen with a small table with space for only 4 ppl. The kitchen had very few utensils, no mugs and only 2 glasses for 10+ ppl. A few improvements would see the place go along way.
