Great location in the center of Dublin. Christ Church is practically next door and the Temple Bar area is a few minutes walk. The staff weren't horrible, but compared to the friendliness and helpfulness of other hostels we stayed at, I was generally unimpressed. Didn't ever try the hall toilets so I can't speak to they're cleanliness, but the set-up of the en suite toilet/shower in our room was slightly cringe inducing.
Solid hostel. Great lively atmosphere in the main lounge with a more chill lounge in the "basement." Staff are very accommodating and are willing to help answer questions or give directions. Only downside in our opinion was the location, but that ultimately wasn't a huge factor.
Great little hostel run by a cool guy named Sergio. The beds were cots instead of the traditional bunk-beds (at least in our room), and this actually resulted in a great night's sleep for our group. Great bathroom facilities; it's only a single bathroom for each floor, but given that there weren't many people there at the time it wasn't a problem at all. Not sure how many hostels there are in St. Andrews, but we would definitely recommend this one to any of our friends passing through.
