The reception area (which was also the bar, breakfast and TV area) was excellent! It had a really great, friendly, cosy and warm atmosphere. I had a 4 bed mixed dorm which was alright. Could be improved with the addition of lockers for security, as well as a private night-light for each bed so that at night we don't have to turn on the main switch and disturb everyone else whenever we need to do anything. Would also be good if the toilets were separate from the showers!
Wombats is super near the hauptbahnhof. We didn't even have to take a train there, all we had to do was walk for 2 minutes. Great friendly atmosphere as well. It's a good hostel for people who like to socialize in crowds and meet lots of new people. Not to say that the hostel is very noisy, because the rooms are quite a distance away from the bar and social areas, so one can still sleep in peace. It was a good idea to have toilets separate from the showers, too.
It was an amaaazing stay here :) The staff were friendly and the 5 euro breakfast was both delicious and filling! It had a very laidback vibe. Perhaps I'm just lucky but everyone I met at this hostel was friendly and chill. The al fresco breakfast area was lovely in June - nice cool weather, and a charming view of the surrounding town. It was a great place to talk to people. A baby falcon also wandered into the breakfast area one morning lol. Everyone made a huge fuss over it.
Really great atmosphere, and a decent distance from the train station! Clean, decent facilities. A good idea to separate the toilets from the showers. Didn't visit the bar and pool and other facilities so I can't say much about them.
Really cosy warm atmosphere! A lot of care was put into the very pretty decor. The breakfast of croissants and coffee was nice as well. Shower area was a bit too cramped though. Although it was quite near the main train station, it was a bit difficult to find. Better directions could be given on their website. E.g. instead of saying "until you find a kind of temple we are after that , left hand" they could say "when you see the temple on the left, keep walking straight".
