Loved staying here. Great location and friendly staff, however it seems that everyone who stays here has to part of a clique! Brilliant if you can play an instrument as they've got open mic night and guitars, boxs etc. If you've got a overinflated ego or you can brown-nose someone without losing your dignity then this is place for you! We ended up just keeping ourselves to ourselves, didn't really have the 'hostel' vibe! We've stayed in probably 30 hostels this year through South America

Cool place, managed to watch the first game of the new BPL season so I was more than happy! Lots to do, main nightlife is a $25ar taxi away but definitely worth it!

Loved this place. Staff were so friendly, they cooked for us almost every night and it was cheap as hell and tasty as well! Security isn't huge but it's not necessary, the Barra is a lovely place. Friendly locals, although don't beat the kids at football (they get kinda upset!) All in all, great place!

Stayed here a few weeks ago. Loved it and São Paulo so came back after World Cup, didn't disappoint! The only downside was the bins in the room didn't get emptied whilst we were there and were overflowing!!

Right on the beach, Stefano is an absolute boss! Helped us out with any questions we had and sorted a bus to our next stop! The only neg is the door is always open and no lock on the dorm door, although neighborhood is very safe so not necessary. Lockers in the room so all good! Definitely recommend this hostel and will be going back later in life, Maragogi is gorgeous!

We stayed here whilst England were playing in São Paulo. The hostel was brilliant, not somewhere to stay if you're wanting lots of sleep! The street outside hosts a street party every weekend, although whilst the World Cup is on it's every night!! :D We loved it! We're thinking of visiting SP after the World Cup and would definitely come back here if we can get in!

Absolutely loved it here. We needed a few days to kill before heading to São Paulo so came to Asuncion. We ended up staying extra days! The owners are so friendly and accommodating, they even tried to make us a 'Full English' the day of England's first WC game! Would highly recommend this place for people looking to relax, such a chilled atmosphere. So much knowledge about Asuncion and other areas also, loved these guys!!

Jodanga Backpackers Hostel

HOT showers were excellent! Not much to do in Santa Cruz and was meant to be a short stop, we stayed two extra nights here. Played football at the local park (5mins walk) a couple of days with others staying here. Really friendly and welcoming. Felt safe all the time we were there, no problems! The pool is cold, although that didn't stop us from going in everyday!! Highly recommend this hostel!
