Globe Trott Inns

This hostel is waaaaaaaaay out of the city center. Waaaaaaaay out. That being said, if you want to see an new area of London, this might be one way to do it, and it's not far from a tube stop. The people are friendly, the rooms are fairly nice. It's not the cleanest hostel in the world, but it's good if you just need a place to crash.

Nice place, not far from the downtown. The bar in the lobby is fun, especially for watching the World Cup semifinals. The rooms are clean, the staff are very helpful, and while it is not a long walk to the downtown area, there is a metro stop less than a block away.

Brook Lane Hostel Regensburg

This is a very small hostel, not much in the way of atmosphere, but Regensburg is a small town. It's perfectly adequate if you need a place to crash, it's clean, the staff are nice, and there is a social area. It's also really conveniently located - close to the train station and close to the heart of the town. Great place!

A&O Nuernberg Hauptbahnhof

This hostel is very workable. It doesn't exactly feel like a hostel, but it's close to the heart of Nuremberg and very clean. It does not have air conditioning, so it can get pretty hot in the summer. All in all, it's perfectly serviceable, just not particularly social.

This hostel is what every other hostel wants to be. It's got a great, party atmosphere, and it is super easy to make friends. The facilities are great, the bar is fantastic. It's also pretty clean, though it can be a bit buggy in the summer. Really really great place to stay, and the bi-weekly Castle Quarter walk is defiantly worth it!

Great staff, cool atmosphere, and the free breakfast is fantastic. The location is way outside of the center of the city, but the public transportation is easy to navigate and gets you into the downtown quickly. Also, the area is nice if you're looking to get away a bit. Great place!

Very nice, very clean. The staff were courteous and helpful, the location is good. Feels more like a hotel than a hostel, but particularly good for a quick visit.

Pretty basic stuff - located right next to Termini, so it's a good place it your staying in Rome for a short time, or need to get up and out early. I would recommend travelers checking in have exact change - I didn't, and the night receptionist had a bit of a problem with it. Kind of a hotel atmosphere, but again, if you need a place to crash for a night, the location is great.

Blue Sky Hostel

It's a bit grimy and threadbare, but the staff are nice and the atmosphere is very social. The location is not great - its a bit of a walk to anywhere, but it's not too far, at the same time. Good place if you are just staying a night and need to crash somewhere.

Kick Ass Hostels

Located right in Grassmarket, practically beneath Edinburgh Castle, this is a great youth hostel. If you are looking for somewhere quiet, this place might not be for you, but the people here are very social and like to party. It is a short walk from the Royal Mile and is very much in the Old Town of Edinburgh. I would definitely recommend this place for travelers looking to meet people and have a good time.

Really great place - just renovated, the rooms are very clear, the beds are spacious, and the facilities are fantastic - free coffee! And the location is fantastic - barley a five minute walk to the Minster and right in the heart of York. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

Nice hostel, but it can get a bit expensive - if you are not into real English breakfasts, I would recommend you pass on their breakfast deal. Friendly staff, very clean. A bit of a walk from the city center, but nothing too strenuous; very conveniently located to the train station.

A convenient place to crash if you're just zipping through London, though they certainly seemed to offer more. Friendly staff, good location, and a nice atmosphere make it a fairly pleasant place to stay.
