We loved staying here! Yes, there are A LOT of steps (about 450) down to the old town so coming back up is a bit of a work out! We arranged an airport pick up for 30 euro because we didn't want to tackle that with our luggage! Lovely owners who are happy to help in any way (they live upstairs). We had a room with a view that shared a balcony with other rooms. Excellent kitchen and patio for relaxing!

Great apartment in a fantastic location. Close to old town, supermarkets and restaurants. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, went out of his way to get us a map and answer questions. Comfortable beds, good kitchen and bathroom. You have to pay extra for wifi if staying under four nights. No air conditioning but there is a ceiling fan. Would stay again.

We had a lovely time here and felt right at home! A beautiful house in a perfect location. To Eugene: Thank you for your, and your mother's, hospitality. Our stay wouldn't have been the same without you. We wish you all the best in the future and in your new home!

Nice, clean hostel in a great location. Good kitchen and lounge area, not a party hostel. The girl working and living there was friendly and helpful. Upstairs was ridiculously hot the first night because we weren't told at the beginning we could pay an extra small fee for air conditioning, once on it was very comfortable.

This place was beautiful! Lovely, quiet house where you are made to feel completely at home. It is not a party hostel but it has a friendly atmosphere and great kitchen and common area to meet other guests. Kristina was a perfect host, excellent company and full of tips and advice! To the hostel: Thanks for helping make our time in Riga so memorable!

Nice, quiet hostel in a great location. Good kitchen. No wifi or lockers in our 6 bed dorm room. The bathrooms were clean but did smell sometimes, I assume from old plumbing. Under the beds was a bit dusty but all in all a lovely quiet place. Perfect location if you get the boat in.

Old Town Hostel Stockholm

Stockholm, Sweden

I wish I could give a higher rating because it has the potential to be a good hostel, but, a lot wasn't great. For example, a lot of things were broken including shower heads, soap dispensers and lockers. Also, BED BUGS, lots of them. Security wasn't great either and it is a strange set up with a guy who I think lived there bossing people around in the kitchen. I wouldn't stay again.

City Public Hostel

A big, loud, dirty party hostel. If you are into that then great, enjoy your stay! What to expect: rude staff, dirty mattresses with suspicious stains, people not using linen, continuous late night renditions of `Wonderwall`; What NOT to expect: free linen, proper sized bunks, dark rooms, courteous guests, quiet nights, wifi in the room. I would not stay again, I like at least some sleep!

Good hostel, even if it is so hipster it hurts. Comfy beds, clean bathrooms, good kitchen, dark curtains. The food at the bar/restaurant is delicious too. We organised all our tours through reception, they were great! Close to a cheap supermarket too!

Anker Hostel

It's an ok hostel, not much choice in Oslo! The beds were comfortable, you pay extra for linen, bathroom and kitchen in the room was good. No lockers in the room though. Trying to do anything at reception took forever, even checking out! Staff aren't that helpful. Wifi was HORRIBLE, only available in the lobby and even there it rarely worked!

I can not believe I forgot to review this hostel! This is by far one of the nicest hostels we have ever stayed at. Beautiful welcoming staff, nice clean rooms, good bathrooms, excellent kitchen, AMAZING breakfast (a great chance to have a chat), good location, wifi and computer, just brilliant! I hope to visit again one day! To the hostel: THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!

Great double room, fantastic location, clean bathrooms, good kitchen. Our only complaints would be the staff were not overly helpful or friendly and the common area was always full of people`s luggage.

Wonderful hostel in a perfect location! The moment we met our host, Roman, you could tell he was a great guy. He helped us with everything and made us feel right at home. It is a small hostel, we stayed in the double room- so comfortable and lovely to wake up to the clock bells outside! The dorm room looked good too. Not a crazy party hostel but great atmosphere for meeting people and hanging out. Good kitchen and bathroom. Take the scary lift up- definitely a highlight!

City Backpacker - Hostel Biber

Zurich, Switzerland

Zurich is expensive so expect to pay a bit more here! Also be warned, you have to pay extra for linen and/or a towel and yes there are some stairs! But, once you get over that this hostel is FINE! The rooms, bathroom and kitchen were all clean, the staff were nice, the rooftop area is lovely and there's a cheap supermarket nearby. Walking distance to everything. Wifi only in lobby area, don't expect much atmosphere here, everyone's too busy online! But overall, pretty good. I would stay again.

Great location, good breakfast and lovely staff! They even went out of their way to make sure we had breakfast on the morning we had to leave early! The nice cold pool is great too after a long hot day, even if it is in a strange location, next to the dining area! The computers available weren't the best but WiFi was decent. Lots of good places to eat and drink nearby.

Even giving Diep Anh 100% doesn't seem a high enough rating! As soon as you walk in the door you are made to feel right at home, any questions you have will be answered and the free map and advice on getting around Saigon is great! No need to stress about tours or getting around Vietnam either, they can help you! And the room- big, bright and beautiful! I miss being at Diep Anh already, THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL STAY!

Yes, going into the building and waiting for the lift can be intimidating at first but as soon as you get into Apple the staff are smiling and friendly and make you feel right at home! Our room was tiny- really, really tiny, but we had everything we needed and came to really love our little home away from home!

STAR Hostel (Taipei)

Star hostel was a lovely place to stay! It was nice and clean, the staff were friendly, the bathrooms were good, the free toast and fruit was delicious and it was in a convenient location. The only downside was the top bunk in our room would creak really loudly, enough to wake people up in another room!

This hostel isn't anything special and we found it had a somewhat unfriendly atmosphere. The small rooms were dark and windowless. At times the female staff came across as rude and unhelpful and the food is well below average. The location is its only saving grace. To the hostel: please consider providing hand soap in the bathrooms!

This place has everything you need for a great stay! All the staff (reception, bar, gatekeeper, cleaners, tour guides) were always friendly and happy to help! They offer fantastic tours and the food is delicious too! My only suggestion is to use the free map as a rough guide only, especially if you're walking around town; and the DIY laundry option's a bit expensive, especially for those tiny washing machines! But overall FANTASTIC hostel! (Say hello to 'Chocolate' the dog for me!)

Happy Dragon Courtyard

Beijing, China
91%

We had a good time at Happy Dragon Courtyard! The hostel itself is really interesting and the location can't be beat! It would be good if the free map gave more information about things close by though. The staff in reception and at the bar were always smiling and helpful! The food isn't bad either! We did the Great Wall Tour booked through the hostel and it was a really good day, you have to pay extra to get the cable car up to the wall though and the tabogin down but it's well worth it!

We really enjoyed our time at Come Inn Guesthouse. The location is fantastic, a fun area and close to public transport. It wasn't too loud at night either.
