I've stayed at 25+ different hostels and M Montreal is easily among the best. The location is top notch, the street is quiet but it is steps away from bars/clubs/restaurants located nearby, the Berri metro station is a 3 minute walk away putting all of Montreal at your fingertips.

Hotel itself was good, clean, and comfortable. I was put under the impression that the hotel was within walking distance of the terminal, it is not. I ended up getting very frustrated trying to locate the shuttle so I took a cab to get there. The shuttle from the hotel to the terminal is just awful and not worth the 3 euros. It only drops off at terminal 2 (even though there is a %100 chance you're flying Lufthansa from terminal 1). The shuttle driver was both impatient and slow (weird huh?)

Great hotel. My only slight gripe was the on-suite sink and shower but a shared toilet between three rooms (this turned out to be a complete non issue as I never noticed my neighbors). Everything was very clean, breakfast was excellent normal German- fair. Location really can't be beat, right on the Rhine, steps from the museums, Dom, and train station. Stayed for 3 nights, everything went swimmingly. You leave your key with the 24h reception so security is tip top, if a little cumbersome.

Exactly what you hope for when looking for a budget minded hotel in a major city.
