We stayed at Galeria 3 different times in 3 different rooms. The hostel was clean and in a good location. The breakfast is really good and this was the main reason we came back! There are 2 different buildings. The main hostel seems to be more convenient to stay in as you have to get someone from here to let you into the other part. It is only a 1 minute walk between the two. There is no kitchen which is the downside but the restaurant is really good, but not always open. The staff were helpful!
Although we were initially put off by the triple bunk beds, we really liked that they had individual curtains which meant you had a bit of privacy and werent disturbed by others turning on lights while you were asleep. Each bunk also had their own lamp and outlets. They were big enough to sit up in too. The kitchen was good and the bar also served food which looked good. Laundry was $R15. Be aware that staff do not speak any English but were generally friendly and helpful.
Nobbody spoke English and didnt seem to want to help us at all. The man when we arrived didnt know how much he was meant to be charging us. The room smelled really bad. The breakfast was poor. Very expensive for what it is.
This is hostel was so clean and new. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They offered us cakes, free caiprinhas and invited us to watch films and go samba dancing. It has a really nice terrace, a washing machine and a great kitchen. The rooms were really well designed, with big lockable drawers under the beds and small lockers with outlets inside and individual lamps. The showers are designed so your clothes and towels dot get wet. The nicest hostel weve stayed in. Cant recommend enough!
