Car parking very limited. Room we had was right in the main thoroughfare near the front door, kitchen, reception. Loads of noise really early in the morn and very late at night. Some residents went to bed at 0135am and made noise passing our room. Showers are very limited for the number of people as was the hot water. They let the gas tank run out completely and couldn't get it refilled that day. Being Feb & -2 outside it was ridiculous. They put the smallest heater in our room that was useless.

Bru Bar & Hostel, Cork, Ireland

A good hostel in the centre of Cork with only a few mins walk to all the shops. They have nightly entertainment, the bar has some character and there are a few places to eat nearby. Security is really good as you need a room swipe card to gain access to rooms from the bar. a side door is also available when bar isParking can be an issue though to get near hostel, especially if carrying bags. Having a motorbike I was able to squeeze into a permit area outside of stated times of Mon-Sat 0830-1830.

Booked a single room for the night that was clean and comfortable and had a sink. Showers were hot and close by. The staff were really helpful in recommending route to town centre, which only takes 15-20 mins walk, and pubs to try. The next morning they even recommended places to visit when heard of my plans for the day. All in all, a nice hostel to stay at.

A good hostel in a great location near beach. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Plenty of places to eat with Waves being really good. Tables in dining room consisted of 2 picnic tables so could be better. Wifi was non-existent on ipad or phone, even though I was 10 feet from router. Still waiting for my change as they don't take cards. Staff stated they would be right back with it but was never seen. All in all a great location with plenty of facilities nearby.

Was met at reception by friendly staff and shown around. Good kitchen facilities available and wifi works well in room. Only downside is the parking as have to park on street, but having a motorbike I easily squeezed into a gap. All in all a good hostel at a good price in a location full of places to shop, eat & drink.
