Venice Hotel Villa Dori, Venice, Italy
5.7
11th Sep 2014

We booked this 3 weeks before arriving and I emailed to double check it was all fine, but when I arrived they said they had given our room away to a bigger group booking. So we had to stay in a separate hotel, which was fine but just a bit annoying they didn't tell us. We stayed somewhere else for the rest of the trip because this hotel is WAY too far away - NOT worth 25 min bus plus time waiting for bus, we got a twin room in the centre of venice for 110 euros a night - 55 euro per person!

The internet was REALLY slow and kept cutting off, apart from that everything was great, great people, pool, terrace bar, clean, safe, helpful staff, not too pricey. Its about 10 mins walk away from the duomo etc.

Hostel Pisa Tower, Pisa, Italy

This hostel is very good in terms of location, value for money, cleanliness, and security - they have lockers in rooms, you just need to bring a padlock. However if you are looking for a very social hostel with lots of young people this one is unlikely to be for you as there were few people there to socialise and many were in their 30s (my group was teenagers). That said, perhaps there aren't any very social hostels in Pisa in September, as the city isn't that popular for young people.
