The place was alright... The dorm I was in was right beside the kitchen, so it was loud. There were many cockroaches in our room. Not the most happening hostel. Staff was friendly and helpful though.. Probably wouldn't stay again though.

The beds are EXTREMELY uncomfortable - to the point you can feel the springs. The staff, atmosphere, & location are good however. The security and cleanliness is ok. DON'T book busses through their agent. Book it on your own somewhere else. It ended up being a 12 hour journey to Krabi, which was not what they told me. My bags were soaked by the end of the trip in god knows what. Busses were unreliable and broken down. I was on a local bus.. Not what I was told. Pay more and take lomprayah!!!

A bit pricey, but great location. Have to set up your own bed, which is a little odd because I've stayed in $3.00/bed night and the beds were made upon arrival... No common area - just the bar across the street.. Which is cool, but pricey. Pretty secure, although cameras are in bedrooms/bathrooms, which I found strange. Staff are helpful, but seem run down half the time. Room was also FREEZING - was sick for 3 days. Apart from that though, I'd recommend it!

Great value for money considering other hostels in the area can go for way more! Loved the location - 10 min walk to khao san, which is nice if you're looking for a quieter place to sleep. I didn't think it was a party hostel, which was nice, but it also didn't lack atmosphere. Good atmosphere, possible to meet others! Owners are very helpful and nice. Bathrooms are awkward, but they're being redone in April. No locks on main door, but it wasn't a problem.

The staff are awesome and so helpful! Great atmosphere at night. Breakfast was really basic and the bathrooms smelled horrible of mold... But other than that, the location and hostel itself are fantastic!

I found the staff to be lovely and helpful, no mold in my room - decent room, clean, comfy bed, the buffet was amazing! Really social atmosphere. Just far from the main town

A bit pricey, but the breakfast, staff, location, and pool were all amazing! The construction in the morning was not cool though. Not a good place to meet people.. More like a hotel than a hostel. The bed in the dorm kept being hit by the door, that was annoying.

Breakfast was alright, but the location and staff are great. Not much of an atmosphere, but you do meet people. The lockers aren't very secure as people can just reach their hands through. Facilities are ok - stayed in a dungeon-like room with no windows.

Location is great, security is good, atmosphere is awesome, staff were friendly and helpful, but seemed frazzled at times. Mostly clean, but not the most modern amenities. A bit pricey, but you pay to socialize

Great hostel with not the most modern amenities - but the staff is super helpful! Would be nice if breakfast was included considering it's not the cheapest place & the restaurant food is quite pricey, but oh well. Great location, no locks on doors - but huge lockers under bed. Great atmosphere & great bed bug protocol (switched the whole mattress!) nice to see them being so clean when a case is reported to them as it was when I was there in the jungle room!

Amazing brand new hostel, facilities, & so clean/modern! Almost felt like being at a fancy hotel! The pool is a nice added touch! Wish I could have stayed longer! Staff are super friendly, big lockers & really comfy beds! A bit of a walk from town, but the hostel makes up for it. And no locks on the doors, but it's ok!

Great place - bit far from town and walking home at night doesn't always feel safe. But lovely staff, decent atmosphere, great breakfast.. All at a good price!!

Got booked into a private room the first night because their dorms were all taken up. No complaints there as it was lovely! The dorm the second night wasn't the cleanest, but I blame that on Aussies on Aussie day shenanigans... The owners are lovely and super helpful. Location is decent, no common area really but great rooftop view of vv. security was my main concern as they only has small boxes at the front desk? Barely fit anything :/

Great atmosphere, little far from the centre. Helpful & friendly staff. No lock on door though, but there are lockers. Not the cleanest or most modern facilities. But good place

Wasn't crazy about this place. Staff seemed confused at check in about who got which bed. Not a lively environment, bathrooms were ok. I'd say find somewhere else as chiang rai is already a doozy.

Spivey Pai is located in a lovely setting, but still a bit of a walk from town. Good atmosphere, but not the cleanest sheets. It was also freezing when I was there and you can hear the slightest noise.. Security also isn't the greatest as the doors don't lock!
