The staff (one nice old man) doesn't speak English, so it is difficult if you don't know mandarin. But he is otherwise really nice and helpful if you have a speaker. The building is a bit old and the facilities are definitely worn, but the rooms are well maintained and I never had any concerns about cleanliness. it is located right on the main strip and on the night market. Overall I really enjoyed staying at this inn, but not ideal for solo travelers since there is no space to meet others.

A nice hostel and great location! Better than all the other hostels in the Asakusa area. Hostel staff seemed a little awkward, but in a nice way. It did get cold in my room and the heater just didn't seem to be working as well as it should have been. But, I would definitely stay again for the super convenient location.
Thank you for staying with us! It is glad to hear that you enjoyed to stay here. Please come back one day. We are waiting for you again!! See you next time! Khaosan Tokyo Kabuki Team

The rooms were not as cool and pristine as the pictures show. Staff was helpful and beds were fine. The hostel was still a perfectly adequate hostel. Unfortunately, they split our group up into separate rooms, sad. And you definitely can still feel the remnants of seedy love hotel, though they did an admirable job of converting it to a normal hostel. And it is a little bit further (10-12 minute walk) from the more convenient subway stations of Asakusa.

Stayed in the Japanese style triple room. It was comfy and the location was quite good, an easy walk to all the A-bomb/Peace memorials/museum/park. Only complaint was there were not showers on every floor so that is a bit inconvenient and no elevator. But otherwise, a great place to stay in a wonderful city!
Thank you for staying with us!! Did you have fun in Hiroshima? We hope so:) Are you still in Japan? If so, Please take care and have a great travel!! We hope that we can see you again in near the future!!!

Lovely little place to stay if you want a taste of 'local' life. It was very comfortable and really not a terrible location, though it is a fairly long bus ride (30-40 minutes) to the downtown area of Kyoto. So this place is great for people who don't plan on staying out and just want a nice, homey base to explore the temples and other sights. The bathroom is outdoors, so in the winter it can be a bit miserable going for a late night pee. But the toliets and showers are very clean and modern.

Rooms didn't have trash cans... And bathrooms were often a little dirty. Also doors of the toilet stalls were uncomfortably close. Also no towels and no milk at breakfast... Was disappointed by that. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Our room was on the ground floor and had a very strong and unpleasant smell for some reason. Otherwise the beds were comfy, lockers were large, and showers were warm, and the staff was AWESOME at giving great food recommendations!

Loved the vibe! Location is great! Bathrooms were open to the outside, which was cool but also meant more exposure to bugs. But really I loved this hostel!
