Staff was less than enthusiastic when I checked in. I don't need someone bouncing off the walls but at least don't be monotone one word answers. They did answer any questions I had though. Wifi would disconnect every 5 minutes it seemed. Security camera above the main bathroom door is creepy and shouldn't be there. I understand you don't want people to smoke or whatever but a camera is a bit invasive.
Dear guest! We cannot really understand the problem with our staff, as you were given all the help you needed, as you said. The only thing you could not like - and we can submit it like a problem - is the difference between USA and Russian peoples mentality. But it is just a hypothesis :) Wi-Fi problems are always solvable - you should just ask the receptionist to fix it. Security camera is installed in the bathroom hall according to Russian law about security in hotels (only in the hall, privacy in showers and WC rooms is not violated) and we just must have it there. Anyway, we hope that it was just a little misunderstanding :)

There's one staff member that's pretty nice and helpful the others are meh. Wifi was good. Free cookies or crackers is nice. They put a movie on most nights but everyone talks and cooks in the general area so you can't hear anything. Mattresses are the big downside here. Feels like I was sleeping on the box spring not the mattress. Absolutely no padding. Can feel the coils and springs when I lay down. Capsule is nice though.

Great hostel in a nice location. One of the staff members is super nice and very helpful. Didn't interact with the other two much but they didn't seem as nice or willing to help. Wifi always worked, bathrooms were clean.

Stayed here the night before going to the airport. Got a private room with bathroom ensuite. Room was big but right next to office which was kind of weird. Shower smelled musty and to get hot water you had to have really crappy water pressure. If you want to sleep in don't stay in the room by the office. People up early talking and cooking right outside your door or window. Good location to go and walk around avenida central though. The small entry gate is rather annoying to squeeze through.

This is the spot to stay if you want to party and socialize with other travelers. Pool is nice and enjoyable to lay by. However, the staff \ was not friendly upon checking in. They had little to no personality and were slow moving in getting us checked in. Floor in bathroom and towel in front of the shower was soaked. Got the front desk to mop it up but they didn't give us a new floor towel. No hot water at all in the shower. Freezing cold. Would be an awesome place if the staff was better.

Overall a good hostel and very nice owner. Did the turtle tour and it ended up pouring the entire time. I'm an idiot and didn't bring a jacket but the owner was nice enough to loan me a poncho for the tour. Got back from seeing the turtles and had very little hot water so it took me a little while to warm up. I would stay again though. Buddha cafe seems to be the best place to eat there. It is definitely more expensive but the other places I ate were very meh.

In a decent spot and pretty clean. The view from the tower is pretty nice. Wish there was two hammocks up there to chill but can't complain. My room was an inferno pretty much the entire night. Even though there is a fan it didn't help much.

Stayed here because I wanted a bit of a different experience. It is a bit far from Puerto Viejo so I recommend staying one night there as well and not worrying about biking to town as some other people suggest because a bike is 5-8 dollars to rent depending on who you rent from. Private beach nearby and places to eat just up the road. Fanny is extremely nice and helpful with any questions you may have. Make sure Ben who started working there recently is practicing his spanish :D!

only stayed here for about 9 hours. The food was mediocre but the convenience was nice. $3 ride to the bus station in the morning. Waters were over priced here. Would probably stay again but might consider other options as well

The lady who works here is so nice and so willing to help you with anything you need. Less than 1 minute walk to the beach. Beer shop on the first floor of the building with great prices. Room was extremely hot at night and mosquitos were quite bad but that's Sri Lanka. The price is pretty cheap though. Was fully booked both days I was here. Great spot to stay if you're going to airport the next day.

Got in here really late at night. They picked us up for free from the train station and were right on time. Got our room upgraded for one night because they ran out of the room we booked. Great service and friendly staff. The wifi code expiring after a day or so was kind of annoying but only a minor inconvenience. I do think their tour prices are quite a bit inflated though. You can see stuff on your own a lot cheaper or use trains/buses to and from Agra/New Delhi.
Thank you for appreciating our service & the rooms. We are glad that you could use our free pick up from the train station. With reference to your feedback for tour prices please note we conduct private tours with quality drivers, taxi and the rates include all expenses like parking, toll tax etc which is not included in tours offered by others, hence the slight difference in rates. While we are happy to know that your overall stay was enjoyable. See you soon. Safe Travels !

Great location in the main bazzar road. Take airport express line if you come by plane. So easy to get here. Ask them for directions by metro. Tour desk guy was very helpful. Agra and Jaipur can be seen cheaper by bus and train respectively than private car. Water was very hot. Free breakfast isn't bad.

Arrived late and wanted to take hot showers as advertised. Didn't work. They offered for us to go to "the blue room" immediately upon arrival if we wanted to "trip". Tried negotiating a bed for the next day but the rates change all the time for this place and the guy said its dynamic pricing by hostel world. The frequency is absurd. Also no idea who's actually in charge 3-4 people were trying to talk to us only confusing the situation more. Can negotiate way better deals elsewhere in Calangute

The staff and location at this place really make it worth staying at. The beds were a little Spartan and the wifi situation is kinda wack. There is a room they turned into the wifi room and it's only open from 7am-12am. If you are staying near the front door it will be very noisy. Ask for a room down the hall if this will bother you.

Fantastic guest house. The staff was amazing. Everything about the hostel was amazing. So clean and pleasant to use the facilities. Towels, soap, toilet paper, body wash/shampoo. Literally have everything. Just watch your head on the bunks if you're in the dorm. They are a little low for the bottom person.

Stayed in the mixed dorm and I can't really complain about it. $5 a night. Free towel to use, free "simple" breakfast. Free water refill. The facilities are a little Spartan and the dorm is kind of small but I only use the room to sleep. There were some new staff members there when I stayed (Anya & Veronica I think) who did a really good job for it only being their first few days. Ophelia also gives a great walkthrough of the hostel and map. Beats reggae mansion IMO because of the price.

Average hostel. Stayed here for its proximity to the BTS and water taxi. Walking distance to Chinatown.

Stones bar has a great location. Literally on the beach. Facilities are nice and there is a nice party scene every night. Still a little pricey I think for what you get but I only stayed 2 nights. Beds are so close together which is a tad annoying. Other than that it was good.

I have traveled across SE Asia for the past 3 months and I'm not bullshitting when I say this is the best hostel I've ever stayed at. The hostel is immaculate, the staff actually tries to get to know you and genuinely cares if people are having a good time. There are organized events every day. Free breakfast and free dinner EVERY day. The list is seriously endless. If you want an unforgettable experience in Ao Nang, stay at Slumber. If you want mediocrity and a boring stay try somewhere else.

Definitely an experience staying at this hostel. The bed setup is very cool and the fact that you are in be middle of a rice field is awesome. I enjoyed my 2 nights here and would come back again. Little further from town than other hostels but that's because of the setup.

Really awesome hostel. Noom and the rest of the staff were amazing. Very funny, helpful and accommodating. Booked on the wrong day but they still made space for me. A little far from the Sunday walking street and night market but a group of 4-5people can get a red car there for 20baht each.

After staying in hostels and guest houses in Cambodia this hostel is amazing. It's like I went from living in a cardboard box to a 5 star hotel. Extremely clean, great facilities, location, staff and wifi. Seemed very empty though. Idk where everyone was. I wouldn't even bother looking for another hostel. Stay here.

Nice pool, atmosphere and staff. They always seemed to be cleaning too which was very nice. Little further walk to old market/night market but not too bad. Wifi was spotty in the rooms. Stayed here 4 nights. Would stay again for sure. They had a love DJ for quite a few hours in Wednesday. Not sure if that's new, but a cool touch.

Only stayed here one night but it was pretty good value for your money. Close to everything and the pool is nice. The pickup service they offer fell through. I emailed them 8 hours before I was to arrive but they said that's not enough time. Not the end of the world. Not my first choice but I would stay again.

Mad monkey pretty much has it all. The only thing is it's far as hell from everything. I don't mind walking but most people get tuk tuks and they add up eventually. Good hostel though. Wifi worked nearly everywhere for me. Actually stayed 3 nights

2 minute walk to night market. You can rent a bike for 10,000 and check out the sights. Their 70,000 shuttle to the Buddha park is a rip off. You can bike to the bus station in 10 minutes and take local bus 14 for 6,000 each way. There was a short/thick Asian girl with braces that apparently has been staying there for a while and helps out occasionally. She would walk around flirting with any dude who stayed there. Definitely annoying after awhile. Downstairs was clean. Dorm rooms not so much.

Good if you get in late and want a bed that's about it. Not very clean, not very many people in the hostel. Staff was nice but literally no atmosphere. Wifi wasn't very good. Seems like a minimal effort hostel.

Stayed here 2 nights. Huge hostel. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Atmosphere was great. Plenty of toilets and showers. Constant AC. Breakfast included and you can go back for seconds. Wifi really only worked in lobby

Overall the hideout was a good hostel. It is close to everything in hoi an. (Old town, night festivities/bars). The staff was very helpful. Free beer every night and free breakfast. They even have showers without toilets in them. A rarity in se Asia. Only complaint is the wifi doesn't reach the penthouse mixed dorm. Idk about the other dorms tho.

The staff really makes this hostel great. They greet you by name every time you walk in or out and have answers to any questions you have. Wifi works great, free water bottle fill station with filtered water, free breakfast, free bananas in the lobby. Beds were comfy and shower was hot. Would definitely stay again.

The staff at tiny tigers were very helpful in booking my bus and getting me a motorbike for the day. Good atmosphere had everything I needed. Only qualm is the location. Not much near it. For the price you can't really beat it though. I would stay again

The best thing about this hostel for me was the location. Literally a minutes walk from the night life. Laundry and food places next door. Average cleanliness. Staff was very nice though which I liked. Wifi was okay downstairs but that's about the only place it worked.

Really great hostel. The free breakfast (banana pancake) I had was friggin bomb. I wanted to eat about 6 of them but I didn't ask :/. I booked tours through the guy right next door to them as he was a little cheaper. Wanted to stay an additional night but they were full. Don't have any complaints. Would stay again. 5g wifi downstairs is mega fast.

Not a bad hostel. The atmosphere seems really awesome but I just wanted a blanket for my bed when I slept so I went somewhere else for the same price. Barrooms could be a little cleaner but for the price you can't really complain I guess. In a good spot. Close (5 min walk) to pham ngu Lao road but far enough away where you avoid the chaos if you want
Thank you for staying with us and for your review, we would have been happy to have provided a blanket for you if you had let any of the staff know at the time
