A great hostel overall. Felt very safe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Facilities were fantastic. Location was slightly further away from the main strip compared to other hostels, but that was fine for me as I could park my car for free right out the front of the hostel.

Was a great stay, one of the staff members was a bit awkward but otherwise the facilities were fine.

The hostel was well located and close to a train station (Providence Park). Staff were friendly. This hostel is perfect if your travelling solo as they have activities planned throughout the week, i.e. free walking tours and guided pub crawls. The hostel was quite big and spread over a couple of buildings which did make it initially difficult to navigate but got used to it pretty quickly. Plenty of spacious bathrooms and eating areas to chill out. Wifi worked really well.

The location was fantastic! So close to the Powell Street Station made it very easy to commute around the city. The only problem with the location were the many homeless people specifically outside the hostel. They need to do something to try and move them away from outside the hostel - it is not a very good look for the hostel. The staff were friendly. They had lots of information and planned activities so it was a great place to stay if you're travelling solo!

Some of the rules were a bit too strict and inflexible with checking out, having guests, etc. Wifi did not work for me and this is very important for a budget traveller! But other than that, well placed in the Gaslamp Quarter and a well setup hostel. Had 2 computers that were usually always available. Provided plenty of info (maps/brochures) in the reception area.

Well located, about an hour drive to the Grand Canyon (South Rim). Well priced. Owner was very nice. The room itself for 6 bed dorm was very spacious, but being very open, did make it difficult to sleep.

Hostel Cat is perfect is you are travelling solo as they have organised tours daily and nights out planned. The staff were usually hungover but still helpful and friendly. You will definitely need to take a bus or drive to get to the modern strip - it will take ages to walk, and particularly in summer it is very hot and if you're hungover yourself - walking is not really an option! The dorm was nice and had a cool setup/vibes.

I am not one to rate accommodation poorly, but I had a poor hostel experience here. The staff were particularly rude and strange. There was 1 staff member who behaved so strangely I felt so uncomfortable. When he spoke to me, he had his hat brim low enough so we couldn't make eye contact which was very off putting. Moreover, I later saw him in the corridor, where he had a semi-erection and would shake his hips/junk around whilst on the phone. It was so bizarre - from a staff member! WTF!

Great location, great vibes. There was one dude at reception who was a bit strange and made me feel awkward, but other than that a great hostel to stay at in Byron! So close to the main strip!

The staff keep a close eye on who is entering the hostel. The location is not right in the midst of the glitz and glamour of Copacabana, so it's usually a Metro or taxi to get to most things, but still it is not too far away. The staff were excellent - very friendly and professional - they gave me great advice on what I should do and see and the best way to do it. Atmosphere was sometimes a bit quiet but some may like that. They cleaned everyday and the staff worked hard. Air con was great!

Che Lagarto Hostel Foz do Iguacu is easily one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It almost felt like being in a hotel although I was in a 4 room dorm. Security was top notch. Location was close to the airport and the waterfalls and close to nice restaurants. Very clean - spotless! Was such a great price. Only criticism is needing a stronger air con as it does get a little hot in the rooms - especially when the power went out, I don´t know if this is a regular occurence.

I was initially concerned that there was no doors locked at all (dorms or front entrance), but the staff monioted those coming and going very well which made me feel safe. Location was great. Close to Miraflores and Barranco too. Staff were excellent and friendly. Only downside was that it was pretty loud when parties were happening at night as the ceiling-roof of the dorms are pretty open but if you´re up for a good time, that shouldn´t be a worry.

Security: I felt safe with the locked door at the front. Location: fantastic, so central to Waikiki. Staff: Paul was phenomenal - he runs a tight ship and gets excellent results at his hostel. Atmosphere: not your typical party culture which I enjoyed it being nice and quiet. Cleanliness: excellent! Value for money: the only let down - very expensive for a hostel, although it is one of the best hostels I stayed in. Facilities: only criticism - for the price there should be basic free breakfast
