The single rooms are separate from the hostel; they are in a separate building, around the corner from the main building. The single rooms are effectively a budget hotel. As such, the single rooms are fine. Well appointed, centrally located, etc. Had I know my room would be down the street from the lounge, front desk, and kitchen, I would have chosen different accommodations. The main building is nondescript, and has little atmosphere.

Wonderful location! My private room had a stunning view of downtown and the 25 Abril Bridge. Bathrooms were literally brand new, staff was helpful and attentive, breakfast was simple yet satisfying.

Such a wonderful hostel! The private rooms are hotel quality. The location is in the middle of the harbor and restaurant district, and a 15 minute walk to the outdoor mall/Cafe Imperial/Cafe Santiago mall. The owner and front desk staff are extraordinarily helpful and informative about the city, tours, and restaurants. I enjoyed myself throughly, and can’t wait to return!

What a fantastic hostel! The staff was friendly and eager to share city highlights. The lounge was spacious and lively at night. The kitchen was well equipped. The entire premises was clean and well maintain. You can walk to many museums and nightlife districts, or access many buses just outside the hostel’s front door. I look forward to staying at Purple Hostel again, in the future.

A boisterous, charming hostel in the middle of everything in Dublin. The free walking tour is informative, and the bar crawl is a Dublin highlight. The desk staff is friendly and helpful, as well. It’s everything you want your hostel to be.

It's often said, "This is my favorite hostel, ever!" In these reviews. This, truly, is my favorite, after 20+ hostel stays over the years. Nik at the front desk is charming and gracious. The tour guides are knowledgeable and engaging. Breakfast is simple yet lovely. The location is centralized, but still part of a neighborhood. The lounge is dynamic all through the night. Just a wonderful hostel in a fantastic city. I will be back.
yes, you should definitely come back - I will remember your name next time ;) cheers nik

Some aspects of Sohostel are extraordinary. The kitchen is exceptional; the full breakfast for the extra £1is the single best meal I've ever eaten in a hostel. The lounge, as well, is spacious and inviting. The location is also wonderful. You are, indeed, in the heart of Soho. The only negatives are the common complaints: the bunk beds are basic and lightweight, and the dorms are smallish, and suffer from a lack of power outlets. The lockers are lobster cages. Very much worth the price.

Podshare is an interesting idea. The pods themselves are private from one another, but they are all within the same great room space. It's sort of like having your own treehouse in a giant backyard. The toilets and showers are cramped, but passable. The kitchen is simple. The upper bunks run warmer than the lowers; grab a fan up in the common area. The location is absolutely perfect for downtown, and the train station. I'll stay again, the next time I visit.

A lovely hostel smack dab in the middle of downtown SD. The staff was courteous, the beds are very comfortable for a dorm room, the lockers are HUGE, and there are both ensuite bathrooms, and common bathrooms. I recommend showering in the common area toilets--they're much more spacious and well ventilated. The dorm rooms do suffer from a dearth of power outlets, due to the older, masonary construction. You'll adapt, though. It's a quality location.
Thank you for the review! We are really glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Clean, but tiny, hostel in the middle of Stockholm's old town. While it's easy to meet people in the common room, it's hard to socialize with the thin walls and close quarters, and sleepers will be hard pressed to get uninterrupted sleep. The kitchen is acceptable, but no food or drinks are included, and there are no vending machines. This is a place to sleep and bathe.
Thank you for your review. Yes it seems as if you are used to a different type of establishment. We try to do the best we can out of this place. When it comes to vending machines it is not so common in Sweden what I know. The Old Town is packed with cafés, bars and restaurants so finding somewhere to eat and drink should not be a problem around here. The grocery stores are also open until 22:00 each day. I hope you got some sleep here at least. We do have the rule that it needs to be quiet from 23:00, so that after this hour at least, your sleep should not be interrupted!

A wonderful, ornate hostel! There's both a common area by the reception, and another common area/kitchen on each individual floor of the hostel. Wash and dry laundry service is only 7€, the coffe and tea are complimentary, and the rooms are spacious with no bunk beds. You can both wander around the tourist Pest side of town, or easily cross the bridge to Buda castle and the Buda side (20min walk/ 5 min bus). My dorm mates were boring, otherwise it was top notch.

Great atmosphere and lovely rooms! A very sociable pub and a surprisingly substantial breakfast were also wonderful!

Clean, quaint, and quiet. There's even a wash and food laundry service for 200czk. Breakfast is minimal, and the bar area is more like an Internet cafe, as the entirety of Prague is right outside your door. They have a lovely little hostel.

It was fine. The hostel is in the middle of the tourist area, right by Tremini train station and the bus exchange. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The facilities are acceptable, and well maintained.

Lovely hostel. Great for extended stays, as each room has a kitchenette. Not to far from a lovely square for cafes and shops. Oslo, on the whole, is an expensive city to visit, so contextually, the add ons at Anker are still a bargain.

Great location, decent price, excellent facilities. Everything is clean and new, and fantastically maintained. The hostel succeeds at being very large, but maintaining enough areas to foster a sense of coziness and community.
We are glad you had a pleasant stay at HI-Boston. We try to keep our prices low as much as we can. AL

It's a warm, cramped building, but relatively clean and maintained. The location is fantastic. Most rooms and toilets are warm and stuffy. This is a hostel based on location, not amenities.

Great location, lovely facility. The least cramped dorm room I've ever experienced.

Mammoth, well preserved building. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The toilets and showers are ultra modern. There's a cafe and two different lounges, not to mention a pool table. It's a block walk to the subway at Broadway and 103rd, and the 1 will have you at Times Sq. in 15 minutes. I suppose the hostel's Internet could be faster, not to mention the elevator. But, that's just nitpicking to counter-balance the praise. A fantastic, top notch facility.

Great location, wonderful energy amongst the staff and in the pub. My only complaint would be the lack of electrical outlets for charging smart phones and electronic devices.
Bonjour. It is definately something that could be fixed in the near future and we will work on this! Au Revoir, Nic, hostel manager

The hostel was more a place to sleep than commiserate. The basement bar was a cramped space. The downtown location was fantastic, and the staff were friendly.
