Hostel9 does the job. No thrills. Great for people trying to "find themselves" and each other. Its not uncommon to roll up to the hostel at 3am and find two people sitting on the front steps spilling their guts to each other on all their problems, hopes and dreams, and future ambitions.

Water and the lack of it can really be somewhat bothersome when on the holiday. Ostello Bello Nyaung Shwe does not necessarily agree. They cut the water off for repairs without warning anyone. And then were unsympathetic with anyone that complained for not being able to wash their hands, flush the toilet, or take a shower. However the food was good. The bed comfortable. And the atmosphere pleasant.

I'm not saying you will get food poisoning in Myanmar, only that its more likely if you stay at Ostello Bello. When I brought the fact that many people had been sick ffrom the food the previous night, they seemed unconcerned. Otherwise the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is okay. Conveniently located.

Staff friendly and helpful. Conveniently located. Comfortable beds. Breakfast is disappointing. But otherwise a great place to stay.

Overstay has a great vibe and artistic design. The facilities are good. However the breakfast they offer is one of the worst I've ever had and the staff are happy to drink any beer you save in the kitchen fridge.

Hebron hostel is a great place to stay whilst in Jerusalem. Warm friendly staff. Especially Mustafa! Ask him for dinner!

Great place to stay at when visiting Petra. Gayle in particular is a wonderful host. Well situated around restaurants, but a fairly difficult climb to get to after a day of hiking in Petra.

Moab Land Hotel is a convenient place to stay in Madaba. However some of the concerns include the flooding of the bathroom, the beds are uncomfortable, the staff are fairly apathetic, tour guidance is limited, and the atmosphere is entirely dependent on the rooftop terrace. Still, if you're traveling by yourself, for affordable accommodation its probably still your best bet in Madaba.

Brown Sugar Backpackers has the potential to be the best accommodation for travelers in Johannesburg. However their WIFI is catastrophically bad. I could not stay here again unless I knew their WIFI had improved. One backpacker spent 5 hours trying to Skype with their family back home. Other times they would simply turn it off without letting anyone know before hand. Accessing something as simple as an email was an excruciating experience.
Dear Kevin thank you for the comment. We have a FREE uncapped ADSL internet with a limit of 32 users. It's like the highway, when it gets busy it slows down. We are also frustrated by the slow internet at times. As a South African citizen you are well aware of the poor service and slow speeds provided by Telkom, which are capped at 2mbps. I have tried numerous times and still busy to improve on these services and are on the waiting list for FIBRE internet. Joburg started rolling out FIBRE in certain suburbs. The staff did explain this to you. In severe thunderstorms my staff is instructed to shut down the routers as we have lost many routers due to lightning as we are located on boulders on top of a hill. Apologies for the inconvenience but be assured that we are working on it. Warm regards Liezel

This is a great hostel. The only problem is that during my stay the WIFI was terrible! I had to eventually go to another hostel just to look at my email. Other than that is was a terrific experience!

Good atmosphere. Good terrace. Good facilities. Staff weren't very friendly, if not somewhat annoyed with having to assist the guests. And the bed mattresses were impressively thin. All in all a good place to stay while paying through Manila.

So this is a good hostel. It checks all the boxes and all the other reviews are accurate. However, some things to note. The shower only had cold water. Some of my items went missing within the hostel. Besides the drunkards that were constantly present, the hostel is geared towards drinking to such a degree that those that didn't were openly jeered.

The location is great! Everything else can definitely stand to be improved. But that is normal for El Nido. The single rooms were saunas with fans, and walls made of paper. The bathrooms were inconveniently located and only had cold water. Basically if you're by yourself its a good deal, you'll meet many interesting people. If you're a couple you can get a better deal somewhere else. But the atmosphere with hammocks on the deck was quite nice.

Great for its purpose. The rooms were saunas. But you can upgrade to an air conditioned room.

OMP is a great hostel. The staff are really helpful and accommodating. The curtains in the beds are also a nice touch to what are already very comfortable rooms. I will say that if you book for the Good Shepherd you may be moved to OMP anyway, which is a bit worrying. Also the water in the showers doesn't always drain properly, which makes it a bit weird when you share that shower with six other people.
