Great hostel all round. However, the drains can smell quite badbad and the showers aren't very powerful.

The location really lets this place down. It is down a dingey alley just off an insanely busy highway which takes like 5 mins to cross every time. 1 member of staff spoke a bit of English but was never at reception to help anyone out. To top it off, the atmosphere was DEAD and the few people that where there didn't even acknowledge me when I said hi. Good points: free water, a pool, and lots of movies/tv series.

Everything you would want in a hostel! Includes PS3 in the common area which has GTA 5 among other games. A good way to escape the harsh reality of Jakarta after a day of exploration.

The Hive Singapore Hostel, Singapore, Singapore

This hostel was fine except from the atmosphere. Apart from the non-existant group activites, this is something that The Hive cannot help as a business. For the few people that were there, everyone had the 'headphones in, no eye-contact' attitude which was really sad because i felt very alone for the 4 days that i stayed at The Hive. Despite this, the staff were helpful and nice, the wifi is very good (40mb/s), and it is located 5 mins walk from Boon Keng metro station.

Massive room with lots of space either side of your bed (mattress). People in raised beds have the whole underneath for storage. Bad points include having to walk a big flight of stairs to get to the reception, you have to wear wooden shoes to go in the toilet, of which there are only 2 (1 male 1 female). However, I would say it is a great place for the price.

Perfect location, great people, amazing showers and lockers big enough for around a 45 litre backpack. However, the staff seemed pretty uninterested in my questions apart from 1 girl who was very nice. You are also made to pay for a towel if you don't have one (I had my own, but just pointing it out), which is ridiculous considering the price you pay to stay there. All in all a really great hostel though!

On a quiet street but close to the main places including all the artwork. A 2 min walk from the main bus terminal and shopping mall. Great common area, however only 1 western toilet which was quite far from room AO1 (one of the dorm rooms). The rest were squat. Really nice showers though.

I loved it here. You can walk about 5 mins to the hostel from Thong Sala pier. They have just finished building a sick bar where you can meet everyone. Scooter rental will deliver straight to the hostel because they are located just round the corner. Please don't be deterred by the distance from Haad Rin! Vagabond has organised transport to the main beach on the night and it takes about 20 - 30 mins. When you see the town of Haad Rin you will be glad you stayed at Vagabond.

Great staff. I don't remember their names but they drove us to dinner at their own expense which was so kind. Fantastic showers, and an amazing world map drawn across an entire wall which you can tag yourself on! Only bad point is that is kind of far away to walk anywhere. I was only there 1 night so didn't have time to rent a scooter, but that is the best option!
