In all honesty this is a pretty average hostel. But it has above average front of house. In fact they were great. That includes Fabrizio and Javiar. Both worked tirelessly to book our trips and make our stay as good as possible. The place needs updating. But like I said you come for the wine and other excursions and these guys will help you make the most of your trip.

The girls at the front desk were great. They booked things and even organised a free tango lesson for us. Breakkie was ok but the double private room was all good. The boutique restaurant recommendation two doors down was pretty good. And down the other road is a great gastronomy selection. Try out the garage bar. It's pretty cool. Go after 9pm. Would def come back to this hostel.

Arrived to a great BBQ and new friends. The atmosphere here is a little more chilled, which is perfect and reflects Colonia. We stayed in the twin room and it was all good. A stone's throw from the port and bus terminal and ideally located within the old quarter it ticks all the boxes.

Cool concept. Beds a bit cramped together. My feet kept on touching the Frenchie's head in the next bunk. That said breakfast is good. Staff are helpful and the bar area and break out areas are great.

This place would be perfect if it didn't cram so many people into one tiny room. There were 6 in our dorm and it would've been an average double bed room. That said the place is cool and Carolina and the gang were great at front of house.

It's small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in other areas. The breakfast is really good. The location is great (doesn't get more central) and Junior speaks perfect English (he lived in Ireland for two years).

One of my favourite hostels in South America. The views are great. The staff were really helpful. The pool was a nice addition. Breakfast is included and pretty good. Towel provided. Good showers. And the Saturday night we were there, a party went down. The BBQ was free and everyone joined in. A definite recommendation. P.s the hill up is proper exercise but you're rewarded with the stunning views.

This place was promoted as new. It is in fact just got new ownership so there is teething problems. The place itself is not new. The lock on our four bed dorm was broken which we were disappointed about but the owner gave us a discount. They do try to help here where they can. The breakfast is free and pretty good. Location is up a hill but only 15min walk to the centre and all the tours.
The hostel is new, This is not a new ownership, we created this hostel and the concept around it. Everything set up for the hostel is new (beds, matresses, kitchen, dinning room, showers, bar, poo table, sheets, etc). It is an old house in fact, this is where Bogotá was found 500 years ago and there are no new buildings in this area (its kind of the beauty of this neighboorhood) and of course things break in old houses but we always fix them as soon as possible. Please get your facts straight before making such a statement because it might confuse other guests.I promiss you the lock would be fixed in one day and I did (we had to replace the whole frame). Also, you threaten me on a bad comment if I did not give you the discount you wanted, and now ever after I gave you the discount and try to make everything work for your group you still write this, Im surprised

Run like a hotel with the vibe of a hostel. A top stay, with most of it spent on the sprawling rooftop terrace. Wish we stayed there longer.
Thanks for your opinion. It is a pleasure for us that you enjoyed your stay in Santa Marta. Do not hesitate to visit us in Bogota. Remember you already have a 10% discount on your next stay. Come back and live the best local experience!

What it lacks for in personality it makes up for in location and tidiness. We've extended our stay so I guess that sums it up. Staff could smile more and perhaps engage with the guests more.

Probably the best hostel in PL. Bit overpriced but apparently it was the holidays. Santiago the owner was very helpful. on another note, if rain is forecasted the town turns to sludge so look at the forecast before deciding. If the weather is nice I'm sure the town and beach are quite lovely.

Tell people that they could be staying on a mattress on the floor without any walls surrounded by cockroaches.

Casa craic. Conor was the perfect host. The location is perfect. And the welcome is as warm as the weather. One tip if you're reading this future Huanchaco visitor, book your activities like sandboarding with Casa as we did it with a local tour operator. To say it was shockingly badly organised would be complimenting their service. Casa Fresh all the way, to the surf. Marcus C.

Great hostel, great location and great people. Only minors were that the wifi didn't work for a good while and we were woken by drilling early in the morning.
