El Misti Hostel Copacabana

This was by far the best al round hostel i stayed in, in Brazil. Our room didn't have air-con that worked and the rooms could have been cleaner but putting that aside the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was also plenty going on to help you meet other travellers. I was there over New Year which i'm sure added to the atmosphere as well. Would definitley stay here again if i return to Brazil

HI Holandes

This was a really nice place ticked up on a hillside of the island but easily accessible. This is a chilled hostel and one which has families in it rather than just backpackers. It's quiet and relaxing so if that's what you're after then it's perfect. The staff don't speak much english but they are really helpful.

The staff here were super friendly and helpful but the place does need a bit of a facelift. There was also a small child staying in the dorm room which was a bit odd.

Bee.W Hostel Bar

This is a great hostel, really clean and secure in a great location - probably one of the best all round hostels I stayed in, in Brazil. The staff were really helpful and there was a decent free breakfast. My only criticism was it seemed to lack a bit of atmosphere, everyone seemed to keep themselves to themselves in the bar in the evening but it was the weekend, and I think a lot of Brazillians came here which might be why as it wasn’t full of backpackers. .

Iguassu Eco Hostel

Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

The location is perfect for getting to the Brazilian side of the falls. This is definitely a chill out Hostel, and it’s great to relax by the pool! There are no lockers but this place is in the middle of nowhere with a perimeter fence, so I felt perfectly safe leaving my valuables in the room. It’s great value, with plenty of choice for breakfast & the staff were really friendly and if you make the effort to talk to them, they might even teach you a bit of Portuguese!

I stayed here for two nights at the start of my trip on a Sunday and Monday which are probably the 2 quietest nights in Lapa / Centro. There wasn't much going on at all and the Hostel was pretty quiet on these evenings,. However, I can imagine on Thursday / Friday this is a great place to be when there are lots of people around and the location is great for the famous Lapa street parties! The staff were friendly and helpful when I asked them anything. The rooms were clean and with air con, thoug
