The White Tree

This new hostel is on its way to becoming one of the best in Kosovo. It steal has some tweaking, but the friendly and energetic staff will handle it well. Some things, the hostel is very close to the bus station and you can walk in 15 minutes, so don't pay 5 euro for a cab. Also, the wastebasket in the bathroom gets full fast since you can't flush waste and the floor is always wet. But these will be worked out. A great bar below, though the techno can start a bit early and loud.

Durres Hostel

Even though it was under construction while I stayed there, the noise always was over by evening and never started early. The concern was always for the guest's comfort and mine was high. There are plenty of showers and toilets, so one never has to wait. Breakfast is generous and the coffee unlimited for the first hours. This fails to capture the greatness that will be Durres Hostel in the next few months and years as it becomes one of the great hostels. Make sure to makethe short walk to abeach

The Midland Hostel

I had a marvelous stay here over Christmas. The staff was ebullient and capable of making every wish come true, the place was clean and being cleaned. The location made the entire city available on foot--you may have to walk a bit, but Bucharest is lovely.
