Great location and good price for what you get. The free breakfast is pretty decent - cereal, muesli, bread etc. Really good spacious kitchen, and loads of common room space. Sometimes had to wait for bathrooms but that's common enough with hostels in this area. Each dorm had it's own key and there were big lockers in the room (though the 5 bed dorm I was in only had 4 lockers so could be a problem if it was full). It was pretty quiet when I was there so not much atmosphere.

Great price for a hostel in Dubrovnik. It's very close to the bus station so either a 30min walk to the old city or 5min on the bus (12 kuna when you buy from the newspaper stand). Restaurants in this area are cheaper. Some of the beds aren't even bunk beds. Wifi didn't work the 2 days I was there - I get the impression it's a common problem with their service provider. Kitchen was big, TV connects to USB for movies, staff is friendly. No security lockers but the dorm has it's own key.

Great location in the old town, and with the directions they have online I found it no problem. It's great that they give you free cereal in the morning plus tea/coffee. There's a microwave and kettle to use plus a mini fridge but no more than that. Only 2 bathrooms so often have to wait. Clean place. Staff was lovely. Not much of a vibe in the common room but it's very cozy so probably just depends who's there, but does seem a quieter place. Lots of places to go out anyway.

You need to put DIRECTIONS to the hostel online - it's extremely hard to find otherwise when you are arriving in Pula without a map yet and not knowing what bus to take or what direction to walk (not everyone has cars!). But the owners are super nice and very helpful with anything you could want. Not much of a common area inside - just a couple chairs in the lobby, but the garden is a nice area. Close to the beach. They have a tiny kitchen you can use, and some fridge space.

Good location, particularly if you're only staying a night and getting in late from the train or bus station since it is right between them both. A little further from the centre than others might be. Good kitchen. First night I stayed they had free apples! I stayed in two different dorms - the 8 bed dorm had noise from the sidewalk beeper thingy all morning if that bugs you. Lockers are big, bathrooms were clean, WIFI worked, the girl that checked me in was friendly.

Hostel above club Madrid

The owner was friendly. The 9 bed dorm is actually 6 beds in a room and 3 out in the front room. In the room 3 beds are part of a triple bunk (and the ladder doesn't even reach the top bunk!). One bathroom to share among everyone. The hostel is above the bar with no key to the dorm so anyone could potentially walk up and the 'lockers' are old suitcases that you can lock shut but someone could just take (or open from the side). OK location. Only common area is the bar downstairs. WIFI works.

Really good hostel - good vibe with a good common area to meet people. The free breakfast is quite good. Dorms are spacious and clean, kitchen is good and fully stocked, staff is helpful. Just a short walk from the train/bus station so convenient for day trips in the area, a small bit further to the bars at night but still an easy walk.

Good location though the nightlife is mostly on the other side of the bridge (20min walk). There's not enough toilets for the amount of beds in the dorm - one per 16 beds is never enough. The sandwich they give you for breakfast is great and adds to the breakfast they give you (cereal). The hostel lacks a good common space - it has the cafe which people only seem to go in for wifi, and the main lobby area which are a bunch of chairs placed far apart from each other. Felt a little hotel-like.

Ok location within walking distance to a couple restaurants and also a mall with a cinema. Reception staff was not particularly helpful when asked questions or for assistance. 8 bed dorm had a good mattress and was cool at night to sleep in. No key to the dorms but had lockers outside the room to use. Not a load of atmosphere but you can get a good night's sleep instead. Overall I was expecting more, especially for the price.

Clean hostel, basic dorms, comfy enough bed with lockers for everyone. Bathrooms and showers nice. Definitely not much of a social vibe at the hostel... main common area is full of people on phones and laptops and the computers to use, or playing video games on the tv. But good place to get some sleep instead.

Great location only a couple blocks from the beach, close to restaurants, shops. Dorms are good though the bunk beds are pretty squeaky, but each bed has a big locker to use. Hostel kept very clean though the cleaning the room at 10pm is a weird time to tidy things up... Comfy lounge area to relax in.

Dear Guest, Thank you for writing a review and for the valuable feedback, we appreciate it. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and liked the location. We'll make sure to check out our bunk beds to see if we can fix the squeak. Our night shift crew usually checks the rooms after everyone has gone out so when they return from a night on the town they have clean rooms like they just arrived. Cleanliness is very important to our guests so we do whatever we can to be spotless! Thank you!

Staff was friendly, though not as knowledgable about the Mozambique visa as I'd expected from the hostel website (yes you definitely DO need photos and a confirmed accommodation booking). Dorms were nice, shower in ensuite was a trickle so you had to get nice and friendly with the wall to get under the water. Common areas are greats, wifi works, and dinner at the hostel was delicious and plentiful. Not the best location - have to get an expensive shuttle everywhere and pickup can take an hour +

No air con dorms are super stuffy with mediocre fans - AC is worth it. No lockers but dorms have keys. really particular about knowing exactly how many days you are staying or they give away your bed so you have to plan ahead (not my forte) - we had to switch rooms three times in a one week stay. Nice atmosphere in the backyard lounge/bar atmosphere. A fair bit of a walk to the bar scene at night.

great location close to nightlife and a supermarket and a mall. My dorm room was fine, if a bit musty smelling. Good patio outside but the jacuzzi was too dirty to use while i was there. Kitchen is functional. The bar is really nice, but its open to the public so anyone can end up inside the hostel no problem, but there are lockers in the rooms.

Thank you for the review! I would like to address the security issue. We do have a front desk person 24 hours a day who monitors who comes into the hostel from the bar. As with most hostels, we do allow outside guests of people staying in the hostel. Those outside guests are required to leave the hostel at 11:00 which we inforce strictly. As for smelly people in the dorms, well all we can do is clean them daily which we dol! LOL

Hostel Sue Candelaria

Really good movie room with lots of DVDs (though none are in the proper cases) and good movie channels. Great for recovering after party bus night! Small kitchen but usable. Dorms are nice but the one by reception is noisy early in the morning. All hostels in candelaria are within a couple blocks of each other so location is same as everywhere. Supermarket and ATMs nearby. Showers always had hot water. The heating lamp in the courtyard is a nice touch. Housekeeper is super nice.

Really liked this hostel. had a really friendly vibe, dorms were spacious and the upstairs tv room was really comfortable (the tv is giant!). It's a little tricky to find at first but the location is good and close to multiple supermarkets and of course the beach. The kitchen is good and has two fridges but almost no knives. The bar closes early (10:30) so you have to be prepared for that, but everyone spends most of their time upstairs anyway. The wifi rarely works but the 3 computers do

Nice hostel, decent location. Kitchen is well stocked and the staff were great. Our room didn't have any lockers (but it did have its own fridge!). The hot water in our room didn't work but I think it broke just when we got there. It's a very mello place, lots of DVDs but most are unlabelled so you don't actually know what they have. But the TV room is a good hangout spot. Not much of a party place but within walking distance to places that are. Good value for what you pay.

Good hostel, lots of activities arranged, great tv room for the odd night off. Kitchen is well stocked and big. Drawback is only two showers for all the dorm rooms but on the other hand they are extremely clean since the housekeeper is highly dedicated to her work! Located very conveniently for catching buses to the beaches, and Mole beach is very close.

In my dorm there was only one locker for 6 beds so i had to put my daypack with reception when we went out. Our bathroom door didn't lock or even shut and the dorm bathrooms are the only showers in the place. The water also went out 2 hours both of the days i stayed... The bed was not great either. But the all you an eat buffet dinner was good and the place has a good vibe. But overall considering its further from the bus station than other hostels in town it should be better to make it up

This hostel has lots of character and also great food. It is worth the couple dollars extra. (and i haven't had any trouble with cold showers - there's always hot water when I've showered) Note to travellers in quito - watch out for something (mustard, dirty water, foul smelling substance) being thrown on you "accidentally" and then "nice" people helping you because they are out to distract you and steal your valuables. Just keep walking and accept help from no one!

a good hostel, they give you fresh fruit every day which is a nice touch... it's part of the old quarter but towards the outside so a bit of a walk... staff are very friendly (but there was a bit of a mix up where they thought they misplaced our passports which was a scary moment - they found them!)... they do push a certain halong bay tour (commission) but it did turn out to be a great tour (and we heard of many others that didn't have a great experience)
