Really nice hostel super close to Khao San Road. Staff were really nice and really helpful. Beds were comfy with lockers and lots of space to store your bag. Showers were good but would be great if there were more bathrooms. Basic breakfast included but overall it's a lot of money per night for a pretty basic hostel.

Really enjoyed my stay at Pajamas. Staff were really friendly and helpful, the pool was great and there were loads of chillout areas both inside and out which were great. Location wise, there's not much nearby so if you're looking for nightlife, go elsewhere but it's a 1 min walk to the beach. My only complaint was that my pillow was a not hard but otherwise this place is amazing if you just need a few days to chill out!

Really liked my stay at Liquid Lounge! Staff were super friendly and helpful, food downstairs was nice, and the rooms were good with big lockers and comfy beds! My only complaint is that the blanket provided is more like a big towel and not really warm enough when the air con is on!

Pros: comfy beds and clean bathrooms, good location. Cons: no real atmosphere as the isn't much of a hangout area. Also, sadly, a lot of the staff were just rude and unfriendly. The guy who checked me in barely acknowledged me and just barked the price at me. Another time I was asked to review security footage to see if I had done something wrong (it wasn't me) but it made me feel uncomfortable and like I was being accused of something. If staff improve, this place could be great

Didn't really enjoy my stay here. Staff were friendly and the free breakfast was fine but the sheets were very stained, the bathrooms were a bit gross and once it got dark, there wasn't really anywhere to go unless you wanted to sit outside and get bitten by mosquitoes. Location is good however

Had a really great stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and knew everyone's name. Beds were comfy, rooms had huge lockers and the free pancakes were great! I just wish they'd get some proper locks for the bathroom doors as the shower door swung open a few times while I was in there!

Had an okay stay here. Beds were quite shaky if you were on the top bunk. Half the bathrooms seemed to be unusable most of the time due to blockages (although that's more the guests fault!) I had to leave early so was packing near reception in the dark so turned on a light. A security guard appeared and said 'its morning, no lights now' and switched it off, leaving me in the dark. Conveniently there was also no one around to refund the deposit for the locker I to pay to use

I'm not sure I can say anything bad about BBTB as I had such a great stay there! Staff were really friendly and helpful, the nightly trivia was great fun and was a great way to get to know people. Bathrooms were pretty good and each bed had a shelf and small but adequate locker. My only complaint would be that the dorms need more plugs. The hostel is really near the bus station and Port of Airlie and is a ten minute walk from town. Would definitely recommend! Wish I could have stayed longer!

Staff in Dfeel were really friendly and helpful during my stay, always smiling and cheerful! The location isn't as central as other hostels but its an easy walk to all the sights. The room was clean with a locker, plug and light for every bed and the shower was amazing! The only downside is that there's not really a common area here so it might be hard to meet other travellers. Otherwise, Dfeel is a great place to stay!

Staff in Wickham Retreat were really helpful and friendly. The room was bright and clean, it included free breakfast and free foods like pasta and rice. Shower and toilet facilities could do with some improvement, near my room there was only a shower so you had to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilet. That bathroom had no soap and was generally a bit messy. Location wise, its a bit further out of town but only a short walk or you can get the free CAT bus. More for long term stays

I only spent one night at Haven so didn't get to explore it much but it was only average. The room was pretty big but there were no lockers and my sheets had holes in them and the pillow was covered in stains. Both towel racks in the bathroom were broken so there was nowhere to hang anything. No soap provided in the bathroom and the lights above each bed didn't work either. Not an amazing hostel.

11th Apr 2015

I only stayed one night in Nomads so didn't really get to spend too much time there. However my stay certainly wasn't amazing. There's only a few showers and toilets per floor which are always busy and lacking in toilet paper. The floor in the shower room was also a death trap when wet as it was ridiculously slippy! The kitchen was tiny and messy when I stuck my head in. My room however was really clean and nice. Not the worst hostel I've been to but not that great either.

View Property Reply

Thanks for taking the time to review our hostel. We have multiple bathrooms on each floor as well as en-suites for some rooms. We are sorry if you have had trouble getting into the facilities. The kitchen is on the smaller size but is suitably equipped with everything you could need and cleaned throughout the day. Your points will be brought up at the next managers meeting. We hoe you give us a chance to redeem ourselves if you are ever in Melbourne again . Big love Nomads Melbourne :)

I really enjoyed my stay at The Nunnery. The building is a bit old so can look a bit run down in places but the great staff, great atmosphere and free breakfast make up for this. The tram runs right past the hostel so its very easy to get to and also really close to lots of great bars and cafes and not too far from the city centre either. The staff were all really friendly and organised a great pub crawl and there was also a free sausage sizzle. Would definitely recommend!

I expected Gilligans to be a non stop party hostel but in fact was pleasantly surprised that it was a lot more relaxed than I envisioned. They could do with more toilets on each floor as if someone is using the bathroom in your room, you just have to wait until they're finished. Staff were ok but didnt really give me any info when I checked in on any of the facilities. Best part was the free meal with the purchase of any drink.

We booked into this hostel for one night. However when we turned up, the doors were locked, no one answered and we had to stay elsewhere. when we checked our email, the owner had emailed to say the hostel had been booked out by 10 people despite our reservation. He did however offer to put us up elsewhere and pay the difference but by this time it was too late. We also lost our deposit although we contacted Hosteworld about it but never got any reply.

Arrived here late in the evening after a flight from Mexico and it took a while for the taxi driver to find the place. The hostel itself seemed quite nice but seemed very quiet even though it wasn´t that late. Our room was quite nice and we slept really well. We had to leave early the next morning so we didn´t really spend much time here. The hostel itself is quite nice and the staff were very helpful but it didn´t have much atmosphere when we were there.
