I don't give 100% out of principle, but maybe this place deserves it. It was cozy and, even though I was here out of season (and in the worst of seasons), it was a homey place to hang at. The staff are bloody cool, and probably its best aspect. They have an array of activities on offer if you want to keep busy and a host of recommendations. Anything you need sorted, just ask and consider it done! Have no qualms about Montenegro Hostel at all. Thank you & keep it up!
I love it here! What a gorgeous place. It's clean and functional. The staff are cool and friendly. The decor is nice and the beds and the crisp sheets are very cozy and comfy. Great location! I love the alleyways leading up to it. A bit too expensive for a shared room and the 2nd floor walkup is a bit of a struggle, especially when you're coming back from a night out, but other than that, I'd gladly stay here again.
It's rundown and shabby and dirty. I wouldn't stay here again. Tony's Villa down the road is no better.
Great hostel, all around! Amazing location, 2min to the beach. The staff are SO helpful and responsive! It's super CLEAN. Give the cleaning ladies a break, especially the clubbing crowd which comes in @dawn and can't be even bothered to flush the toilet (other travellers can be such scum). Anyhow, security is top-notch: big lockers, key cards, 24-h reception. Great VIBE at its Hangout Bar, with plenty of options every night for clubbing all over SoBe. Great breakfast, fresh fruit, bagels, etc.
What a hole.. The staff were very terse and they don't really understand how hostelworld booking works (the deposit is not a hostworld percentage - it's a cut of the total payment). The beds were so screechy and unstable that barely anyone in that 12-dorm got any sleep. So dirty, too. The only good thing about it is the location: that's why the price is what it is. Not worth it. Won't return and wouldn't recommend.
It's a bit out of the centre, but you wouldn't necessarily want to be based in the very centre of San Jose. That said, a 10min taxi or a combination of buses is usually required to get to/from bus station and other central points. The atmosphere that was in the hostel was all generated by travellers, especially at breakfast time.
Really loved this place, it was so cozy and welcoming. Felt like home a little bit. The patios and the hammocks and the open concept makes it easy to meet people. The beach nearby is nice enough, if just wild - you don't know what's going to swallow you first: the sea or the jungle. The town and shops are quite a distance. Stay here if you really want some piece, quiet & relaxation. The rental bikes are handy but maybe having 1 or 2 for free or small fee just for supermarket runs would be fair.
we LOOOOOVED this place, it's so cozy, it's so welcoming, it's so.. perfect. I've been travelling for a very long time, and I usually stay at hostels, so the vibe is very important to me. This Jardin feels like home away from home! Abi went out of her way to accommodate us and we appreciate it so much! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and smelled so nice of fresh laundry. When I pass through Cancun again I will definitely pay a visit!
Stayed here only in transfer one night because it was affordable and central. The place looks a bit rundown but it's relatively clean. Have no complains really.. The room I stayed in (12-dorm) was a bit cramped, and no place to put the luggage, shoes, jackets.. bunks feel a bit cramped. All fine, though, for a short stay in central London
I stayed only a short period of time but it was a nice place to crash. It's a little out of the central circle, but you can still get there on foot. The staff were very cool and helpful. It's clean, so nice & clean. The beds were so comfortable and the room was warm - much needed after a long and cold trip coming to Vienna. There's wi-fi only downstairs but it's free and strong. The chillout area is great too, for meeting people and just relaxing. Would stay here again
Even though I was here out of season when it was empty, I really enjoyed my stay. Everything is kept up well, it's clean and comfortable. There's fast wi-fi, decent-size lockers, small kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. I got my laundry back within a day, smelling fresh. There is a beautiful beach just a 5min walk away, all the bars, restaurants and bakeries are around the corner, and there's numerous supermarkets and produce shops nearby. Overall, it's a beautiful place.
I never give 100% but I loved this place and the vibe here. It's so IMMACULATELY clean! The atmosphere is really chill, like a house share. And the owners, Ivan and Tonka are like ying-yang: they balance each other and the guests' needs so well. The bathrooms are clean, the sheets and towels are crisp, the wi-fi works, the air-con works, what's not to like? They put everything at the disposal of travellers. Great stay, all around
I booked 2 nights, but I loved it so much I wanted to stay 32. The stone facade, the slung fig tree and the terrace under the vines give it such a homey feel. It has to be the cleanest place I've ever stayed at. It's a nice stroll to the Golden Horn beach, and a hop to the city centre and the bus stop/ port. Favourite aspect was the owner - great character! I hope to come again and stay longer.
This was the first hostel in Europe I checked into after 7 months in South America and ... it felt so clinical! So sterile, robotic and methodical. It's VERY clean, almost sterilized. The location is good, only 10min to Hauptbanhof, but the neighbourhood is bland. VERY high security: key-cards, big lockers. Liked the free laundry. But the staff are a bit stony-faced, although very studious. It's a very big place and part-hotel, so it lacks any real hostel character. Wifi works only downstairs :/
The rooms were a bit cramped and stuffy, and the bathroom was notoriously dirty. The chillout areas are good: terraces, hammocks, great. Wi-fi only downstairs. The nearby beach is nothing special, but 15 min by bus that stops right in front of the hostel will take you to better beaches. And 20min in the other direction is the old town (Pelhourinho). If you're aiming for one or the other, base yourself there instead.
The [+]: It's clean! This is a big deal for such a busy hostel. Great location on Copa & good value. Good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. We got a 4- instead of 12-dorm for the same price, so appreciate that. The [-]: No lockers in the room, but there are some in the lobby. The staff are a bunch of teenagers that are not very knowledgeable about the city, but hey they're ready to do shots and party in a blink of an eye. Had to pay extra for wi-fi, which was slow and worked only in the lobby.
The staff changed since our last time here, for the better. It's a great venue for a hostel, comfy beds. The bathrooms are ok (not enough shower power). Wifi frustratingly slow sometimes. Of course, the view is tops! The vibe on the terrace is awesome, and it's a great place to chill out during the day or at night. Too bad it closes early - what's up with that? Laundry @ the ground floor is useful - although all prices (beds, meals and laundry) are about 30% higher than anywhere else in Quito.
Great location, and the view is unsurpassed! The staff are very scattered and it's hard to get any proper information from them. And the 'info' binder is not updated, don't rely on it! The 6-bed Puyo room was spacious, the beds were alright, the bathroom could do with better clean up. Wi-fi was a drag. The 11pm curfew on the terrace is entirely unnecessary, just as the vibe got going.... :/
Sao Paolo needed something like this, I changed a few hostels while I was in town and this was by far the best. Had a great stay, cheers!
I inaugurated this place! It looks amazing, love the minimal eco design and the attention to detail. Breakfast was great, lots of fresh fruit, too. LOVE the outdoor showers downstairs (: the beds are comfy. Wi-fi worked well all around. As a new place, they'll need time to build up the character but I have no doubt they they'll get there. Good caipirinhas. Try the cachaça de miel drink also. Guys, thanks for an awesome stay, when we come back to Sampa definitely staying here again. Boa sorte!!
Good location, good breakfast, nice staff. Lockers under the bed to fit all of your stuff are handy and keep the room tidy. It was chilly when I was there but they were generous with blankets. Great wi-fi connection everywhere. The rooms need more electric plugs. A shower curtain can do wonders for the bathroom, so it's not always wet around. It's on a quiet street, no traffic. Apparently the hostel was pretty full but didn't feel any vibe and it actually seemed a little deserted..
This place is on a major thoroughfare Av Gen. Martin, with all the city buses zooming by, it's VERY loud from early in the morning. If you do decide to stay, earplugs are MANDATORY. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly enough - there's always someone's old towels lying around. It's stylish but also very pretentious. Same goes with the area it's in, ha! And the staff that work here. Walk on the Beach on Copa is a much better place.
This whole place has attitude and the staff are very pompous. What's with the head-splitting heavy metal at breakfast time? The little lockers, storage boxes, individual lights and plugs by the bed are def. brilliant. But it'd be also nice to have somewhere to hang all the wet stuff every day after the beach. Hello, it's a beach town! ! Keep in mind it's in one of the top neighbourhoods and no kitchen, so eating will be expensive on top of already expensive stay. Not worth it
I stayed in a lot of Rio hostel, and this one's been the best. Great location, cool staff, quite clean, good breakfast, big lockers, fast wi-fi. The prices were a bit ridiculous for rio+20 everywhere in the city, so I guess that's the only complaint. Also, there aren't enough electric plugs in the rooms - only 2 for a 6-bed. Anyway, problem solved, I know where I'm staying next time I come to Rio (:
The owners are very cool, wish I stuck around longer. The only cons are: no internet in the rooms and water pressure in the shower too weak. Other than that, great place, would stay here again.
Very nice staff, kept very clean. All the other facilities are at Tirol which is awesome. Thanks for the internet, gaucho! Really loved the electric plugs hanging above the hammock space, so handy!
Had a great stay, airport pickup and drop-off are a nice touch. The staff are helpful and informative. Loved the fruit salad at breakfast. Had wi-fi but very slow. The shower was always lacking water pressure.. although it's manageable.
Loved this place, it felt like a house share. Really easy to find with instructions. Wi-fi works awesome. It's quiet but exactly what I needed.
great place, cool staff, buena onda, lots of activities thanks for shaking me awake the first morning in time for the tour (: wi-fi worked great, big lockers in the room The only con really is that the windows face a very busy street and there's non-stop traffic, day & night & it's very loud when the window's open
I don't like big hostels, but this place has got it right. The staff knew me by name from the start, everything 'functions' - wi-fi, lockers, cleaning, free tours, advice for exploring.. everything works the way it should. Best location in all of BsAs for sure. But you won't find an 'authentic vibe' here

stay here only for the location - this place is a dump.. it was cold and damp and some smell was lingering. There's no wi-fi, and it's even rare to find toilet paper in the bathroom.. The staff were pretty cool though, and when I bailed after the first night they apologised and refunded me for the other two nights that I paid up front.
everything's cool except that IT IS SO LOUD - the walls reverberate with every passing vehicle and the traffic should be banned in the historical parts completely. But the walls & windows here are so thin that it was impossible to sleep - the cars were zooming by at every hour
Yes - central location, affordable, very clean, helpful staff, great wi-fi connection. San Telmo, the coolest area of BsAs is a 15min walk. It's a big place so you can escape if you want some peace & quiet; alternatively, you can hook up with other travellers - plenty of people milling about. The 12-bed dorm has the coolest stacked beds and a balcony so it's nicely ventilated. But mosquito repellent is highly recommended!
The house is very cool, love the design and the layout. Great staff, central location - although if you're looking for character go to San Telmo. Clean, decent vibe. My reservation for a dorm got mixed up so they gave me a private room for 60ARS. Nice room but it was ridiculously hot inside, even with the fan buzzing all night
Very cool venue, has potential for more character (rooms are totally bare)! Mosquito repellant essential. No air con in the summer = sweltering sleep. Could use a few more bathrooms or more showers like the one outside Perfect location - 2min to the beach (take your pick: Copa or Ipanema). Knowledgeable hip staff at the reception. The older folks working here, however, come off as if they don't fancy foreigners (even if you speak some bareback Portuguese).
This place was just a means to an end.. not very clean, only one bathroom in the 12-person room, and only one fan. It was impossible to sleep because it was too hot and humid, and also because the top-floor room has a huge adjacent terrace which is a social space/ hook-up area, where people smoke, drink, sing, chat and sleep. If you can't beat them, join them? Lousy wi-fi. No breakfast
Loved this place, wished we stayed longer! Central & really clean. Good breakfast.. A little hot in the rooms even with the fan
Bring mosquito-repellent! Great staff, 2min walk to the beach
Fast wi-fi, free breakfast, cool chillout places. Just a great place overall. Rooms are a bit tight but there are huge wooden chests where you can lock your stuff - so bring a lock. ok location: the beach is near, so is public transport, and a supermarket. Cool staff, helpful with suggestions, tips, portuguese, carnival and fun things to do. R even took a bunch of us out to a traditional restaurant - good vibe, great food, prices even better, cheers!
Great location - 7min walk from the port, right next to teatro amazonas - free fast public wi-fi on the square. There's also wi-fi in the hostel but it's only working well in the lobby. The rooms are decent and clean and have huge chest lockers where you can keep your stuff. All hostels should have this. Free caipirinhas on arrival. The staff here is young and cool. Forza!
Great location, right next to Teatro Amazonas and the pretty Praca Sao Sebastao (where you can catch fast free public wi-fi). The place has decent rooms, is clean and new by the looks of it. Huge wooden chests that fit all the luggage and can be locked are awesome - all hostels should have this as thefts occur (by other travellers predominantly!). The staff is young and fun (and wearing jerseys, as the obvious theme is soccer). Free caiprinhas on arrival. Forza! (:
Loved this place, seems like it was made by a traveller, with travellers in mind. Little things like plugs INSIDE the lockers so you can charge your electronics (it's the other travellers that steal stuff so lock everything up). Free towels, sheets, extra blankets. Daily suggestions and ongoings in the city. Really cool and helpful staff. Friday bbq lots of fun! Internet a bit slow at times and up in the rooms. Awesome location amid colourful historic La Candelaria and various universities.
stay here only for the location.. it's dirty & cramped
It's not only a fun place, also a beautiful colonial-style mansion.. Quick turn-over as this hostel is the only reason to stay in Santa Marta, and treat it as a spring board to Tayrona or Guajira
bare minimum if you're looking to be close to the strip - it has air con and parking and the price is awesome. No expectations, enough for a quick in-and-out of Vegas
Loved the locating in the garden district. The staff was very cool, friendly. Double private room is an amazing value. Arrived late at night, seemed a bit dodgy, the area and the crumbling house, but it wasn't at all - it's got character.

the 21-shared is Japanese-style capsule bunks - really good for privacy. The showers are in the 8th concentric circle of Hades. Excellent location and it's kept pretty clean. No wi-fi in the rooms.
an affordable bed in central London means that it's disgustingly dirty, questionable sheets too, screechy beds, inadequate heating, irregular wi-fi signal..
Great location & affordable. Other than that, it has nothing going for it - it's dirty, stuffy & 10th-floor beds are incredibly uncomfortable. Altogether spent probably a few hours throughout my stay waiting for that one elevator. 100yen for 10-min shower!
really affordable place in central Osaka, easy to find very chill staff
really clean, great location & easy to find. thumbs down: no wi-fi in the rooms. thumbs up: bathrooms en suite, and shelves for luggage beside every bed
thumbs down: too far from central tokyo; not very clean thumbs up: individual lockers & trays for stuff under the beds; fully stocked kitchen; wi-fi
:: very fun place 2 b @ ::bathrooms dodgy :( :: but clean and spacious rooms, clean sheets :: gr8 value ::
