I stayed at Meininger hotels before, in Germany, and I came back here, knowing that it would be clean.. It wasn't. The bathroom (airplane size!) gets filthy really quickly because the water sprays everywhere. The staff are sweet, if a little confused (I had to check out, mid-stay and check back in, only to go back to the same bed. It's very LOUD, from early morning, all traffic will wake you up. It's more a hotel, or a very big dormitory, than a hostel. Not great for vibing or meeting people.

Not a fan of big hostels, but this means 'economizing' in London. The rooms are quite spacious, love the big lockers underneath the bed that fit everything, thus reducing luggage pileup on the floor. Fantastic breakfast, if you're up in time. Good kitchen facilities. Fast wifi, friendly staff. But it's not very clean, especially the bathrooms.

I don't give 100% out of principle, but maybe this place deserves it. It was cozy and, even though I was here out of season (and in the worst of seasons), it was a homey place to hang at. The staff are bloody cool, and probably its best aspect. They have an array of activities on offer if you want to keep busy and a host of recommendations. Anything you need sorted, just ask and consider it done! Have no qualms about Montenegro Hostel at all. Thank you & keep it up!

I love it here! What a gorgeous place. It's clean and functional. The staff are cool and friendly. The decor is nice and the beds and the crisp sheets are very cozy and comfy. Great location! I love the alleyways leading up to it. A bit too expensive for a shared room and the 2nd floor walkup is a bit of a struggle, especially when you're coming back from a night out, but other than that, I'd gladly stay here again.

Great hostel, all around! Amazing location, 2min to the beach. The staff are SO helpful and responsive! It's super CLEAN. Give the cleaning ladies a break, especially the clubbing crowd which comes in @dawn and can't be even bothered to flush the toilet (other travellers can be such scum). Anyhow, security is top-notch: big lockers, key cards, 24-h reception. Great VIBE at its Hangout Bar, with plenty of options every night for clubbing all over SoBe. Great breakfast, fresh fruit, bagels, etc.

What a hole.. The staff were very terse and they don't really understand how hostelworld booking works (the deposit is not a hostworld percentage - it's a cut of the total payment). The beds were so screechy and unstable that barely anyone in that 12-dorm got any sleep. So dirty, too. The only good thing about it is the location: that's why the price is what it is. Not worth it. Won't return and wouldn't recommend.

It's a bit out of the centre, but you wouldn't necessarily want to be based in the very centre of San Jose. That said, a 10min taxi or a combination of buses is usually required to get to/from bus station and other central points. The atmosphere that was in the hostel was all generated by travellers, especially at breakfast time.

Really loved this place, it was so cozy and welcoming. Felt like home a little bit. The patios and the hammocks and the open concept makes it easy to meet people. The beach nearby is nice enough, if just wild - you don't know what's going to swallow you first: the sea or the jungle. The town and shops are quite a distance. Stay here if you really want some piece, quiet & relaxation. The rental bikes are handy but maybe having 1 or 2 for free or small fee just for supermarket runs would be fair.

we LOOOOOVED this place, it's so cozy, it's so welcoming, it's so.. perfect. I've been travelling for a very long time, and I usually stay at hostels, so the vibe is very important to me. This Jardin feels like home away from home! Abi went out of her way to accommodate us and we appreciate it so much! The rooms and bathrooms were clean and smelled so nice of fresh laundry. When I pass through Cancun again I will definitely pay a visit!

Stayed here only in transfer one night because it was affordable and central. The place looks a bit rundown but it's relatively clean. Have no complains really.. The room I stayed in (12-dorm) was a bit cramped, and no place to put the luggage, shoes, jackets.. bunks feel a bit cramped. All fine, though, for a short stay in central London

I stayed only a short period of time but it was a nice place to crash. It's a little out of the central circle, but you can still get there on foot. The staff were very cool and helpful. It's clean, so nice & clean. The beds were so comfortable and the room was warm - much needed after a long and cold trip coming to Vienna. There's wi-fi only downstairs but it's free and strong. The chillout area is great too, for meeting people and just relaxing. Would stay here again

Even though I was here out of season when it was empty, I really enjoyed my stay. Everything is kept up well, it's clean and comfortable. There's fast wi-fi, decent-size lockers, small kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. I got my laundry back within a day, smelling fresh. There is a beautiful beach just a 5min walk away, all the bars, restaurants and bakeries are around the corner, and there's numerous supermarkets and produce shops nearby. Overall, it's a beautiful place.

I booked 2 nights, but I loved it so much I wanted to stay 32. The stone facade, the slung fig tree and the terrace under the vines give it such a homey feel. It has to be the cleanest place I've ever stayed at. It's a nice stroll to the Golden Horn beach, and a hop to the city centre and the bus stop/ port. Favourite aspect was the owner - great character! I hope to come again and stay longer.

This was the first hostel in Europe I checked into after 7 months in South America and ... it felt so clinical! So sterile, robotic and methodical. It's VERY clean, almost sterilized. The location is good, only 10min to Hauptbanhof, but the neighbourhood is bland. VERY high security: key-cards, big lockers. Liked the free laundry. But the staff are a bit stony-faced, although very studious. It's a very big place and part-hotel, so it lacks any real hostel character. Wifi works only downstairs :/

The rooms were a bit cramped and stuffy, and the bathroom was notoriously dirty. The chillout areas are good: terraces, hammocks, great. Wi-fi only downstairs. The nearby beach is nothing special, but 15 min by bus that stops right in front of the hostel will take you to better beaches. And 20min in the other direction is the old town (Pelhourinho). If you're aiming for one or the other, base yourself there instead.

The [+]: It's clean! This is a big deal for such a busy hostel. Great location on Copa & good value. Good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit. We got a 4- instead of 12-dorm for the same price, so appreciate that. The [-]: No lockers in the room, but there are some in the lobby. The staff are a bunch of teenagers that are not very knowledgeable about the city, but hey they're ready to do shots and party in a blink of an eye. Had to pay extra for wi-fi, which was slow and worked only in the lobby.

The staff changed since our last time here, for the better. It's a great venue for a hostel, comfy beds. The bathrooms are ok (not enough shower power). Wifi frustratingly slow sometimes. Of course, the view is tops! The vibe on the terrace is awesome, and it's a great place to chill out during the day or at night. Too bad it closes early - what's up with that? Laundry @ the ground floor is useful - although all prices (beds, meals and laundry) are about 30% higher than anywhere else in Quito.

Great location, and the view is unsurpassed! The staff are very scattered and it's hard to get any proper information from them. And the 'info' binder is not updated, don't rely on it! The 6-bed Puyo room was spacious, the beds were alright, the bathroom could do with better clean up. Wi-fi was a drag. The 11pm curfew on the terrace is entirely unnecessary, just as the vibe got going.... :/

Hi Thanks for your comments. if you found any outdated info in the please let us know what and we will update it with pleasure. The speed of free wifi depends on how many people are uploading/downloading material, there is a paying internet cafe down the road if you need more speed. The 11pm is entirely necessary as this is an hostel and some people wish to rest and this seems a reasonable hour, we are happy to tell you where to go if wish to go out longer. once again, if you do not tell us these things while you are there, it is difficult for us to take action.... thanks Florian

Good location, good breakfast, nice staff. Lockers under the bed to fit all of your stuff are handy and keep the room tidy. It was chilly when I was there but they were generous with blankets. Great wi-fi connection everywhere. The rooms need more electric plugs. A shower curtain can do wonders for the bathroom, so it's not always wet around. It's on a quiet street, no traffic. Apparently the hostel was pretty full but didn't feel any vibe and it actually seemed a little deserted..

This place is on a major thoroughfare Av Gen. Martin, with all the city buses zooming by, it's VERY loud from early in the morning. If you do decide to stay, earplugs are MANDATORY. The bathrooms are not cleaned regularly enough - there's always someone's old towels lying around. It's stylish but also very pretentious. Same goes with the area it's in, ha! And the staff that work here. Walk on the Beach on Copa is a much better place.

This whole place has attitude and the staff are very pompous. What's with the head-splitting heavy metal at breakfast time? The little lockers, storage boxes, individual lights and plugs by the bed are def. brilliant. But it'd be also nice to have somewhere to hang all the wet stuff every day after the beach.
