New hostel which shows with how clean rooms are and all showers etc seem new. Atmosphere can be hit and miss depending on how many staying as so new but has all usual would expect free Wi-Fi, washing machine, tours to Chernobyl, tours to gun range. 24 shop next door, pubs and restaurants nearby. 2 blocks from subway (blue line). Aircon throughout and chill out room wired with speakers, connect phone for music and projector screen on way soon I'm told so makings of good hostel. Would stay again

100%, can't fault this hostel. Apart from location, rooftop overlooking downtown Toronto, security etc, breakfast is based on real backpackers lives, "until 1pm", checkout is 12 noon, not half ten when you're still hungover and a big free breakfast Been backpacking for 20 years, one of the best hostels I've stayed in

Few streets away from forbidden city and subway. The staff very helpful especially wolf and Joyce. Did tour of wall from here and bar had sports on tv as well as good choice of food. Would definitely stay again if back in Beijing. Only 2 mins from night market, have to try food there. BTW forbidden city closed on Mondays

Great location right on one of the main streets, swipe access locks to rooms and lockers provided. Good price and staff were generally helpful and friendly Kitchen was basic although with Spar opposite and Subway two door away, wasn't that big a deal. Disappointed when asked on checkin, check out on new years day was still 10am, most hostels extend checkout on new years day. At 10am, was told no luggage storage we all had to leave.. in the rain and hungover! hostel shut even common area

Big thanks to Declan and the Irish girls for welcome, had great night out in old town. Wasn't even staying here but had good reviews and my own hostel was not what they made out to be, will definately be booking here next time I am back Close to old town, main parks and easy walk to palace, outside beer garden and own bar

I really can't fault this hostel. Staff are super helpful, always cleaning, there is a big common room, washing machine, it is on the main pesterian only street. Lots of info on where to go at night and easy to meet other people. Air con also keeps you cool when it's 35degrees outside. Would definately stay here again

Clean.Staff really helpful with advice, went out of their way to help you, even taking my clothes from the machine when I was away and hanging them up.Bit too homely, common room was also the reception area, where staff on nights slept, the only PC was here used by reception/guests so felt ackward at times although they would give up PC/TV for you to use.Overall hostel felt cramped.Had fun first night but 2nd was only 2 people, left next day and friend who stayed told me was by himself that night too

Helpful staff in a great location. Highly recommend the Tunnel Tour. Local knowledge from guide and even stopped for extra pictures when we requested. Small group which was best, laughed at the bus loads getting off on their fixed itineray. Free breakfast every day very clean, laundry My only complaint would be lack of lockers, although nothing was taken and they do have a safe

Great staff.I arrived at 9am and they made sure I could check in right away and get some sleep.Internet in room, balcony doors and a bath, welcome after months of backpacking. They also got me my overnight train ticket (for a small fee of course) and helped me with DMZ tour but without being pushy. Made use of the laundry service, same day. As a hotel, more difficult to meet people but with the Thu on wheels cafe directly opposite with good food and other backpackers, doesn't matter. Very clean

Staff helped me with sim, advice and money exchange, always very polite but felt that when they asked where you were going, was always to try and sell you something, tour, ride to place etc.Security excellent, rooms spotless, good rooftop garden for breakfast (included in price).Didn't want free meal if included meat, buy my own.Asked staff if did, they checked, told didn't.While eating soup, found it did,all manager would say was "don't do separate meals".Didn't want one,he not understand staff issue

Great vibe with hammicks, bonfire everynight and big garden area. Had no problems with anything been taken but all dorm rooms were unlocked with no lockers. Valuables could be left at reception though. Staff helpful. Regularly cleaned and only few minutes walk from the "village". Recommend gonig on the motorbike tour Unless want to just lie on beach or hike then one-two days is probably enough in 1770 just to break up your journey up the coast

I had read so many great reviews that I was a bit suspicious that some of them hadn't been written by staff. They weren't and were rightly deserved.Hostel and rooms are spotless, staff very helpful, friendly offering lots of advice.New Pool table and open common area makes it easy to meet others.Internet a little expensive but this is the norm for that area as rural.Cheap wifi though if you have your own laptop.$1 to-go tea/toast is a great idea. All doors are swipe entry.Cinema room to chill

Great location near beach, very clean with inhouse bar.Down side of that is you can\'t BYO and the drink prices are not that cheap for hostel bar-deals in pubs nearby.Secure, locks in rooms, swipe card access. The place seems a bit sterile,tv room, kitchen, internet, bar are all spread out making it more difficult to meet people.Helpful staff though for advice on city and tours See penguins at St Kilda pier at sunset and check out live music in Pavillion bar as well as the famous Espy hotel

Fun hostel with helpful staff and events, entry to clubs etc most nights. Very clean and secure, cheap internet. Bit far out from downtown Sydney but easy enough to get downtown with bus. Homely as only 30 or so people. If wasn't so far out, I would definately stay here again but if want to avoid bustle of downtown and still have good time, I would recommend this hostel

The staff here were great, very helpful on reception and bar staff and Adam the social organiser/ performer and travel desk. Must stay for first night or few when arrive, on beach, pool, good base to start then see other islands and return here before you fly out again, only 15 mins from airport. Only problem is the dorm is split into quads like an office but still 32 beds so once some people get up at 6.30am, there is noise until 9.30. Try the Fijian Bounty dark rum

Right on Granville St opposite the other big hostel, samesun. Bit pricy if you don't have a HI card but if you are staying more than 4 nights, makes up the cost of buying one there. Organised actvities most days, helpful staff and very secure rooms. Reasonable priced internet and good international mix. Quieter than the samesun but at least can get sleep if you want and party nearby

Hostel was very clean, provided good breakfast, secure lockers.Outside tables in the main area make it easy to meet others before heading clubbing later.Outside closed at 10.30 and then kitchen/ common area closes at 11.30- because of the police station across the street, you cannot drink outside so forced those who didn't want to goto pubs/clubs to goto bed.Staff seemed hit and miss dependin who you got.If wanted to extend, had to wait until next day, could not tell you how many booked in!

As has been mentioned by others, this hostel has only opened a few weeks so totally clean but no real character as walls are all freshly painted and new. That said, there was a good atmosphere and new additions were being added to the hostel daily to improve it even more. Massive lounge area with comfy seats, a breakfast that is one of the best I have had in all my years travelling and friendly staff. Free internet (although this might just be as new and have no way to automate charging yet) and location is central. Not right on Temple bar but not a far walk straight down O Connell St to it and you have a lot of local pubs nearby as well rather than just tourists. Road in from the airport is just behind you too. I will definately stay here again and would be interested in passing through in 6 months to see how the place is then. Secure doors on all rooms and lockers available too although they do need to get a sign outside as you can easily walk past the entrance

As everyone mentions the hostel is not downtown but it is a 20 min walk in a more or less straight line or $8 in a taxi at night. The jamming at night was fun with some talented people just passing through or staying a while, basic shop and liquor store nearby and if you really get hungry, a block away is great cheap food at the hospital cafeteria On the downside, there was no kitchen in the dorm rooms themselves, just toaster and microwave although you could use kitchen in main office and our bath was black, wasn't cleaned once the entire week I was there. I didn't have anything stolen but a few lockers wouldn't go a miss. Staff were always helpful though Only hostel in town so what can you do but would be better if they take some of these ideas on board as they were making changes to the dorm rooms when I left

Bit of a low rate hotel rather than a hostel so it is better in some ways but that means you pay the cost too. $40 a night and don't forget tax Location is perfect, 30th street near Penn Station (one metro stop to Port Authority on 42nd street/ Time Square for those that don't know area) and right beside Madison Square Garden. The hostel itself wasn't that much fun as no real common room, just a kitchen with a few seats but if you met up with the right people, could be a fun night out of the hostel but this was hit and miss and you could find noone in "common room" or even up on the roof patio which is cool for a few evening drinks Hostel was secure, keys to each room and each had a bathroom but these varied from small and cramped to large but there were cleaned spotlessly every day. Problem hostel has is that it has no laundry and only 1 PC for internet use Staff were helpful though with directions and advice

Very big and spacious hostel but no fun or they people were no fun, big kitchen, common area, tv room but all people did was sit around and watch TV. Being a HI, you couldn't have any socialable drinks there either. The staff apart from one girl were all unhelpful, didn't tell you about any of the facilities when you checked in, internet, laundry, checkout time etc and seemed as if they were doing you a favour by doing their job and answering you. There was an organised pub crawl but then it got cancelled Location was good, 3 blocks from subway but 7 to White House and 7-8 to the Mall in a different direction. It was very clean, the cleaning staff did a great job and dorms had card locks and lockers in the rooms Nice clean hostel with good location for sightseeing but if looking for fun or a bit of a laugh, I'd stay somewhere else

I was here off season so was only about 8 people in the hostel but would be more fun when better weather and more people there but can't fault hostel for that Very secure, keycodes, lockers, central downtown on tram line, only few streets from pubs and clubs and the hostel was so clean, could have been a hotel. Helpful staff too. I will be back here again in the summer when warmer but would definate recommend it. Only downside is you can't drink in the hostel like all HI hostels but nightlife isn't that far away (was just so cold when I was passing trhough didn't want to go outside !)

I can't rate this hostel highly enough except that I didn't see any security lockers or anything like that for valuables Apart from that, excellent hostel, lots of character, paintings on walls, very chiled out feel, helpful staff, 24 hour reception, easy to get to downtown from, very clean, great common area and just a fun palce to be. Pool outback would be great in summer and the $1 beer machine is just classic Highly recommend

Only 10 mins fon bus from downtown and secure, keycode to get in and lockers available. Free internet. An ok hostel with a great location in summer as right on lake with picnic tables but with no alcohol allowed which stopped you from sitting in to have a few before going out, TV room being separate from rest of common area and only having 5 basic channels so not a lot to do in hostel itself (Downtown is just one big party though) especially the $1 drinks they seem to have every night, makes it harder to meet others as people were going out right away rather than staying in hostel or to have fun in the hostel as nothing to do there. Also, before forced to leave your room from 11-3 (especially when hungover) is a pain, why can't they just clean round you like almost every other hostel in the world does ? Staff were helpful though and taxi fare abck at end of night is only $8, bus pass for 24hours is only $1

There is no hostels in downtown Dallas so you can't fault the location even if it is 15 min train journey from downtown. Trains are regular so this isn't really an issue More like a student house (without the mess) than a hostel so common room/ kitchen are all one so chilled out place, free internet and laundry Make sure you visit Dealy Plaza and goto the Texas Book Depository where Lee-Harvey Oswald is supposed to have fired from

This is an eco-friendly hostel, like a wildeness hostel. If you like this, you will have great time but if you are looking for a more traditional hostel in downtown Hilo, this is not the one for you, as you will thing to remote or not clean If like me, you wanted a bit of nature then the location is great, as a wilderness hostel, there is no secrity lockers but keep your important stuff on you for the few days you are here and you'll be fine. Staff are very helpful and although wilderness hostel, there is running water in the toilet but if you can't sleep listening to Puerto Rico Coqui frogs at night then this might not be for you but if you want to get away from it all, this is perfect. Lava tours offered which had amazing views, you got up close to the lava, closer than tours from Hilo proper were the view isn't as good Only downside was there ws no running hot water in kitchcn or bathroom but there is gas to warm water up and the shower has hot water and with being remote, you have to buy supplies on way there from airport but you can buy a few beers or food and you'll be grand

Good location, helpful staff and always lots of fun, small bar on site were everyone chills out or on patio outside There was something happening every night from comedy night, Limo tours and a piercing night ! but the pub crawl was a bit of a disappointment- still I would stay here again

Feels just like a lodge, bar onsite with karoke and pub grub. Lots of fun, big kitchen and swipe card access About 15 min walk into Banff itself but this shouldn't put you off
