Always a fantastic stay at Museum. Unbeatable location right by the awesome free British Museum and close to all public transport links and the best of Central London. Staff are unfailingly welcoming and ready to help out with any queries at all. Recent renovations have freshened up the lounge and bedrooms and the atmosphere is inviting and homey. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay at this hostel - awesome common area, friendly people and the comfiest bed in an 8-week trip! Clean, fresh design and right by the Naschmarkt and easy enough to get to most other places in the city. Staff were efficient and especially responsive at night when the noise next door carried on past midnight. The ideal backpacker's hostel - would definitely recommend.

This hostel has a hotel feel and is a clean, modern and comfortable place to stay. The common room was quite quiet and chilled in the evening during my stay and people seemed to instead socialise and eat in the room. Everything was very clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Would recommend for a short stay close to the Hauptbahnhof.

Unity Hostel

Budapest, Hungary

Unity is a lovely, comfortable and friendly option for a stay in Budapest. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating, and the hostel is in excellent location surrounded by cafés, bars and restaurants and an easy walk to wherever you'd like to visit. The hostel was generally clean though the upstairs bathrooms/showers needed a twice-a-day clean. Definitely recommended for a comfortable, relaxing stay convenient for exploring gorgeous Budapest.

FunkNBunk Hostel Budapest

Budapest, Hungary

Would not recommend except for the most basic of stays. Thin, stained sheets stretched over a worn, foam layer mattress on a steel-frame bed, dirty kitchen, mouldy bathroom, patchy wifi, staff that only spoke when spoken to. Good location but lots of room for improvement.

I am very sorry about your recent experience at FunkNBunk. We always go out of our way to help all our guests and treat them like friends, showing them around the city, enjoying a conversation, coffee or even a beer. Next time you are in town I hope you will give us the opportunity to host you again.

This was my best hostel experience during an 8-week trip around Europe. The staff are wonderfully welcoming and the common room instantly makes you feel at home and is a great place to chill and meet other travellers. Accommodation is comfortable and clean, with secure storage lockers for each bed with clean, modern bathrooms close by. The BEST part though, was Sunday morning included breakfast... banana and apple pancakes cooked by the staff! Need I say more... Highly recommended. Thank you! :)

Terrific value hostel, with very comfortable beds, a large kitchen/dining area and separate common room with TV. Reliable wifi and fantastic staff who are very helpful. Excellent location right by the Market Square, and easy walking distance from the train station. Bathrooms were generally very clean and breakfast was nothing too special but a good offer for starting the day. Wroclaw is a stunning city and I'd recommend staying here as a reliable base.

Such a fabulous, chilled hostel! Rooms are spacious and clean, with genuinely comfortable beds and great locker space available. Bathrooms were never crowded, with clean showers, hairdryers and big mirrors. Staff were helpful and the downstairs kitchen and lounge are a comfy chill-out space with reliable wifi and an outdoor deck in the sun. Excellent location a manageable walk from the bus and train stations, with perfect proximity to the lovely summer city of Nuremberg. Highly recommend!

Schusterhausl Inn

Nick makes an exceptional effort to make guests feel welcome to his part of the world. The hostel is located at the edge of a beautiful forest and makes for an amazing opportunity to discover the Bavarian countryside, just a short distance from the city of Munich. Accommodation and facilities are modest but adequate, and a good chance to go a few days without wifi or luxury. I'm really glad that I stayed here, and had the chance to experience true Bavarian hospitality and landscapes.

Very efficient and experienced staff, great party vibe and excellent options for meals with Brambles Bar & Kitchen next door. Really appreciated the €4 breakfast next door in the morning! Excellent location right by Termini station makes for easy and quick transfers to the airport. Accommodation and bedding is simple and dated but adequate for the price. Thanks!

Awesome stay at Museum. The staff went out of their way to help out with anything and everything, even booking me a taxi at 4am to get to the airport. Bathrooms and dorms were always spotless and location is unmatched - brilliantly central and close to Tube, Oxford St, supermarkets and directly opposite the amazing (free!) British Museum. Cosy, chilled lounge area and kitchen with free breakfast make this incredible value for central London. Staff are top notch - huge thanks to Jon and his team!

St Christopher's Barcelona

Having stayed here for several nights, I had quite a mixed impression of this hostel. Staff are variously helpful or indifferent, often limited in their capacity to help out, seemingly due to being understaffed. Facilities are available but generally charged at an unnecessary rate. Room sizes mean you're lucky to ever get a decent sleep. The major plus for this hostel is its amazing location - hopefully come peak season they'll keep the wet areas clean and check in/help guests more efficiently.

Thank you for rating our hostel! We are very sorry you felt like the staff was indifferent at times. They should be as lovely and helpful as they are at all times, maybe you caught them in a stressful moment? We will look into putting more staff on to avoid moments like that. Our 8 to 16 bed dorms ensure low rates in the center of Barcelona, to preserve a bit of your privacy all the bunk-beds have curtains around them. We are sorry if you felt like you couldn't get a good sleep nevertheless. We hope to see you again, so you can see we are always busy improving!

Simply put, Astor Quest is a brilliant place to stay. The staff are awesome, the rooms spacious, clean and comfortable, the location is terrific and the people who were staying here made my week. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this was easily the best. Perfect for a short stay or a great base from which to explore lovely London. Cheers!

What a fantastic find! This hostel was close to the station, with clear directions that made the address very easy to find. A very clean, comfortable, friendly stay and a hot breakfast available in the morning (small charge). No complaints at all! Definitely recommend and would stay here again.

K's House Mt.Fuji

Mount Fuji, Japan

The staff here are exceptional - no request was too much trouble, and I felt totally spoilt by having a whole (6-bed dorm) room to myself, with all facilities available (ie, free internet, a fabulous kitchen, very clean bathrooms, washing machine available and plenty of staff assistance in planning sightseeing trips). Make the most of the shuttle bus hours and ask for the 10% discount vouchers for the nearby onsen, and cable car and sightseeing boat cruise on Lake Kawaguchiko. The supermarket is well worth the 10-minute walk - I bought enough groceries to last a few days and was able to cook all meals in the kitchen, saving a lot of money that could instead be spent enjoying the sightseeing on offer... 10/10 to the staff who made for a very comfortable and extremely satisfactory stay. Highly recommended.

Nikko Park Lodge

The staff at Nikko Park Lodge did everything to ensure that I had a fantastic time. From providing a map and explanation of an appropriate walking track (which made for a fantastic sunny morning's journey to the Shinkyo Bridge), to the morning yoga class and wonderful cooked breakfast - nothing was too much trouble, and the homey atmosphere of this place made for a very comfortable and relaxed stay. The nearby onsen was a bonus!

Kitchen facilities were adequate but assistance or instructions weren't really clearly set up. Staff were very helpful in answering queries. Recreational areas for interaction with other travellers were limited, however overall the hostel was very clean and comfortable, though probably best for couples/groups of travellers.
