Having stayed here for several nights, I had quite a mixed impression of this hostel. Staff are variously helpful or indifferent, often limited in their capacity to help out, seemingly due to being understaffed. Facilities are available but generally charged at an unnecessary rate. Room sizes mean you're lucky to ever get a decent sleep. The major plus for this hostel is its amazing location - hopefully come peak season they'll keep the wet areas clean and check in/help guests more efficiently.
Simply put, Astor Quest is a brilliant place to stay. The staff are awesome, the rooms spacious, clean and comfortable, the location is terrific and the people who were staying here made my week. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this was easily the best. Perfect for a short stay or a great base from which to explore lovely London. Cheers!

Absolutely fantastic - terrific staff, great locations, heaps of fun activities and great people. Very good kitchen and common area. The only problem was that I couldn't stay longer... :)
Beautiful leafy part of London, awesome location to get anywhere in the city, helpful staff and a comfortable, welcoming and clean place to stay - thank you!!
What a fantastic find! This hostel was close to the station, with clear directions that made the address very easy to find. A very clean, comfortable, friendly stay and a hot breakfast available in the morning (small charge). No complaints at all! Definitely recommend and would stay here again.
The staff here are exceptional - no request was too much trouble, and I felt totally spoilt by having a whole (6-bed dorm) room to myself, with all facilities available (ie, free internet, a fabulous kitchen, very clean bathrooms, washing machine available and plenty of staff assistance in planning sightseeing trips). Make the most of the shuttle bus hours and ask for the 10% discount vouchers for the nearby onsen, and cable car and sightseeing boat cruise on Lake Kawaguchiko. The supermarket is well worth the 10-minute walk - I bought enough groceries to last a few days and was able to cook all meals in the kitchen, saving a lot of money that could instead be spent enjoying the sightseeing on offer... 10/10 to the staff who made for a very comfortable and extremely satisfactory stay. Highly recommended.
The staff at Nikko Park Lodge did everything to ensure that I had a fantastic time. From providing a map and explanation of an appropriate walking track (which made for a fantastic sunny morning's journey to the Shinkyo Bridge), to the morning yoga class and wonderful cooked breakfast - nothing was too much trouble, and the homey atmosphere of this place made for a very comfortable and relaxed stay. The nearby onsen was a bonus!
Kitchen facilities were adequate but assistance or instructions weren't really clearly set up. Staff were very helpful in answering queries. Recreational areas for interaction with other travellers were limited, however overall the hostel was very clean and comfortable, though probably best for couples/groups of travellers.
