No lockers but other than that flawless! I met so many lovely people who were also there to climb Fuji, and even ran into a few on the hike. Really nice atmosphere and comfy beds. The kitchen facilities were a huge plus.

The owner was simply lovely! I was having terrible insomnia and he walked me to a pharmacy at 2am to get medicine. The hostel was right next to a very cool book store, and the bus stop was close by as well. A little crowded and not super clean, but this hostel has great personality. Two thumbs up!

I cannot overstate how much I love this place! Go here. Just do it, and you will not be disappointed. The location is really nice, a rare quiet place in noisy Taipei, and the beds are unbelievably comfy. I met so many other travelers and had great conversations. Also I have food allergies, so I was really happy to have such a great kitchen to cook in. Maggie and Chen make you feel at home away from home. They even lent me jackets and a scarf because it was cold. I owe them so much!

Worth it for the relaxed family-like atmosphere and the awesome kitchen facilities! I was happy to see people cooking food from all over the world for each other. Also the staff at the front desk were lovely. There were enough showers and the girl's quarters were well removed from the men's. I think this place is especially good for people traveling alone.

Lovely people, amazing area. I happened to be there for the Chinese New Year, which was perfect. China Town is right there and you can spend as much time as you like exploring. The group of staff running the hostel are very much like a family, multilingual with interesting backgrounds. 100% recommend interacting with other guests and the staff, which is easy to do.

It was fine for one night but I chose the mixed dorm option, which for some reason was cheaper. Fun fact: 'mixed' is actually code for 'all men.' There were security lockers but no room for luggage by the futons, so basically all suitcases were stored in the hallway. As I have a backpack, this made me super nervous. One man was in the hallway all night rummaging through things (hypothetically his own) which was stressful. Location was perfect for a quick stop in Nagoya though.

There's nothing particularly wrong with this place, if you like gray cityscapes crowded with tourists. But I though Haruya Aqua tries way to hard to be a hotel and it just ruins the atmosphere. It was very loud because the buildings are old, so sleeping felt impossible. Would not recommend.

A really unique little place, great for meeting people from all over. Situated within walking distance of the station, and lovely sightseeing spots such as Daitoku-ji. Only downside is that is winter, the building is coooold. Not unusual for Japanese buildings, but still, dress warm if you are staying in winter!!

This place is definitely worth a visit! Not only is Mieko-san very sweet and hard-working, but the other guests I met there were all great. Unlike the other hostels I stayed at in Tokyo, the atmosphere was super friendly and it was easy to meet new people. The location is very good IMO, I would rather stay in a neighborhood than in busy Tokyo. It's an easy walk to the station. And make sure to visit Kiraku-yu, the public bath just around the corner!! Awesome people, all around.

Meh. It works fine as a hostel, but it is lacking the sort of atmosphere whereby you can meet lots of people. Also the amusement park nearby is very loud.
