Sergio is the owner of a 3 bedroom apartment. The room we were given was spacious, with use of the kitchen & shared bathroom. The location is good as its walking distance to Vatican City & there is a bus line 1 minute walk away that takes you into the centre of the city for all of the attractions.
We stayed in a private deluxe room which meant we had a loft bedroom over an apartment sized living room with a kitchenette. This was definitely good value for money & we enjoyed our time. The hostel is within walking distance of the bus stops that arrive from the airport & only 5 minute walk to the main shopping plaza, & the river. Its an old building so as long as your prepared for that you will enjoy your time also. The hot water system needs some attention in the private apartment.
We stayed in a deluxe private room & it was excellent. Spacious, clean, small fridge & sitting chair provided in room as well as an ensuite. The only thing missing was a kettle for added luxury but it was easy enough to go next door to the main kitchen. The hostel itself had a large kitchen with everything you may need & large living areas to relax in. The hostel is located within walking distance of all the attractions we want dot see including the CN tower, harburside, kennsington markets.
Common room area very good, felt like we could have been in someones house. kitchen has everything you need & its in a good location on main shopping strip of the town. If hiring a car do NOT hire from budget... go to the small place next door & receive a far cheaper price for the same product.
We had a great time staying in the brew pub. Excellent beers & pub food to go with them aswell. I would recommend staying at this for a different kind of accommodation. We stayed 3 nights which was a bit too long seeing as it rained the whole time. I would recommend that small bar fridges be added to the rooms for guest comfort when staying more than one night. Also the continental breakfast needs an overhaul. Everything was loaded with sugar even the muesli mix had chocolate chips in it?!
Fantastic staff & clean hostel. The showers were average & it was quite noisy if your room was near reception. There was always staff members talking loudly early in the morning. We loved the roof top bar & the tea & coffee available all day. The breakfast is just bread & jam & fresh juice. If eggs were provided it would make it a bit more interesting even if you have to cook them yourselves, we ended up buying eggs ourselves.
Great location... only 5 minutes walk from the bus terminal and 15/20minute walk to the centre of town. Or just hire a bike & make it an even quicker trip! The hostel had an above average breakfast with eggs & fruit salad on offer every day.... a lovely courtyard with hammock for people to chill out in. The only issue with this hostel was the constant dogs barking through the night but unfortunately this happens alot in sth america & there was not much the hostel could do about this.
We found the hostel to be in a great location & the staff extremely helpful. The only tip i could give would be to add a toaster in the kitchen, apart from that it was decked out with everything you should need. The wifi was very fast & the outdoor garden & couches in the living room made for a very comfortable stay. The only problem we had was that we were on the ground floor & it was very noisy when people walked around upstairs. We were awake with the first person who woke up.
The hostel was very clean & in a good location. It was only a short walk to most of the sights. The only problem we had with the hostel was the fact that our bedroom was located on the front street & Santiago is a very busy city. Getting over jet lag & dealing with the road traffic was our only problem. The staff were extremely helpful & there is someone at reception 24hrs so it felt very secure.
The hostel was great with it's communal lounge & bar areas. Breakfast was good value for money but perhaps not a very big serving so I need to add an egg to make it more of a meal. The only downfall was the bathroom sink/mirror being in a communal area outside all of our bedrooms when a Chinese guest decided it was ok to blow dry her hair at midnight. I spoke with reception the next day but they didn't seem to care to much. Perhaps at check in people need to be reminded of noise levels
