Cheers Hostel

Istanbul, Turkey

An amazingly friendly hostel. How the staff managed to remember everyone's names I'll never know!! Lovely breakfasts and a great bar. The only downside was the slightly erratic showers. Thanks a lot.

Very helpful staff in difficult circumstances after the cyclone. Really went out of their way to help us and even let us use the facilities for the whole day after checking out. Very much appreciated.

Conveniently placed in the center of Auckland. However charging 10 dollars for 12 hours Wifi is WAY too much. The most i have been charged in any other hostel was 4 dollars for 24 hours and i see no reason why it should be so much more here. The 'free' shared computers were also a joke - very very slow and always busy. In addition my room was opposite an all night car park which meant artificial light coming in the window all night which the flimsy curtains did nothing to prevent.

A great place to stay with amazing staff. The only problem were the dodgy gas rings which made cooking kinda stressful.

Albatross Backpacker Inn

Kaikoura, New Zealand

A nice friendly place. Would definitely stay again.

Point Break Backpackers

Christchurch, New Zealand

To be honest this was a last minute booking. The kitchen was dirty, there was no lounge area, the free bread at breakfast was moldy and the other people in the dorm seemed to think that chatting at 1am was ok.

Sir Cedrics Glow Worm Flashpacker Hostel

Franz Josef, New Zealand

A nice convenient place to stay. The kitchen area was great and had everything you needed. The hot tub was never open while I was there though which was a little disappointing.

Paganakan Dii Tropical Retreat

Sandakan, Malaysia

A really beautiful place in the middle of the jungle. The beds were very comfy and the hammocks great. No wifi though... It's also the other side of the main road from the sanctuary so you can only get there by bus. This is not such a big problem as they have a free minibus, but it does mean you are tied to their schedule. Also makes it difficult to eat other places in te evenings unless you get a taxi.

Sunflower Hotel Hoi An

Hoi An, Vietnam

A really nice place to stay and excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful and rooms amazing. it was a bit of a trek into town (15 -20 mins) but they do have a free mini bus which i didn't use. the only minor problem was the guide on the tour i booked at the hotel was not great, so maybe try one of the agencies in town instead.

A nice hostel and great breakfast. however we had lots of problems with noise and light as the walls don't go to the roof and you can hear everything from other rooms

Thank you for your nice review. Just one note: You reserved a 9 bed dorm. That room has 4 beds in one side and 5 beds in the other side. The wall that doesn't go to the roof is in the middle. So we consider it one room with 9 beds, so the noise came from the other side of the same room

Beata Solitudo

Agerola, Italy

A great hostel with very friendly staff. My only complaint would be that the bus there tend to be very unreliable so you can be left waiting for 3 hours to get back.

Ulisse Deluxe

Sorrento, Italy

Nice hostel and the staff were very helpful. A great place to stay if you are traveling with someone but not very good if you are alone.

A great place to stay. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and the pasta evenings were great. The only problem was that there was no where to change near the showers and your clothes got wet unless you were very careful.
